I haven’t heard of some of these before, but they sound interesting! It’s so fun to see how many different identities there are in the aro and ace spectrums! A bit off topic, but I love Ellis’s glasses they are really cool!
I'm nebularomantic but I don't personally identify with being aromantic at all. For me, it's more similar to red green colorblindness. The shades of attraction can feel nearly identical. I definitely feel romantic attraction and platonic attraction. I'm not aromantic nor aplatonic.
I'm somewhere between romance repulsed and aegoromantic. basically the concept of romance, like love stories is interesting and fascinating at times. I even can have short lived "crushes" on fictional animated charactera, but if someone would ever tell me they have romantic feelings for me or I feel like someone tries to hit on me(neurodivergent, I don't get it) I will get defensive by immediately throwing the aroace at them, be cold and distant and sometimes unintentionally mean. simply out of defense and to kill off any hopes they had as soon as possible. just the thought of having someone getting attached to me like this is sickening to me. that's why my "crushes" only happen with fictional characters not played by actors, because even a irl actor is too real to feel comfortable
Bellusromantic seems to fit me pretty well, I don’t really see things like kissing or hand-holding as very romantic. But I’d still probably identify as aromantic, much easier to explain and I’m honestly tired looking for aro labels that fit me, let alone aro and ace labels 😅
Great to have Ellis on to talk about aro stuff! Even as an aro person a lot of these labels were completely new to me. I particularly think Nebularomantic and Idemromantic might describe me!
Thank you for the video! I'm on the aroace spectrum (greyromantic asexual) and I always feel like I'm an imposter and that I'm invading the community because I do experience strong romantic attraction, but it's just extremely, extremely rare for me. This makes me feel less of an imposter. Thank you.
This made me feel a lot better about myself cause i feel like i do identify as a person under the aromantic umbrella but some of my actions, thoughts, etc. counteract that so it's helpful to be informed of the different options of identity so thank you :)
I thought that I would know every aromantic attraction on your list since I'm fairly familiar with ace attractions but surprisingly, that wasn't the case. Thank you for teaching me. I'm still very alloromantic though.
Nebularomantic is literally me! I always thought I was crazy because I find myself trying to distinguish if I like someone by going "okay but would have s$x with them???" So much! And it's really hard for me😞
@@lynnsaga1397 they are a natural with the camera they are a intelligent person i was about to wrongfully misgender them until I thought for a second you both are amazing sweet people sorry for almost misgending your beautiful sibling
Thank you so much for this! This vid was mind blowing and Ellis explained everything in a really clear way. I'm so happy they included the pre-romantic identity bc it describes perfectly what I'm feeling rn.
It'll require further research, but I'm quite sure I'm noviromantic. Once again, I find myself with the need to thank you, the both of you, for sharing this information with us! Your channel has been an invaluable source of information for my personal journey of self discovery and the journeys of many more people. Thank you for all you do!
I'm kind of a mix of nebularomantic and also a kind of the inverse of bellusromantic, I'm interested in being in a relationship but I'm not very physically affectionate, on paper the relationship I have with my boyfriend might look like a romantic relationship except that my idea of a date is playing Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart together, playful trash talk and all, very little distinction from the kind of stuff I do with my best friend. When we go on dinner dates, I think more about the food, it's not really a special moment to me because just doing anything with a very close friend is awesome regardless of the setting. He thinks it's cute though when I try to be romantic, like when we were hanging out together I pulled up a dandelion from the sidewalk and gave it to him. Being autistic and aromantic makes things challenging, I'm just so thankful to have a boyfriend that's so accepting. I didn't even know I was aro until somewhat recently, but it makes perfect sense as I thought romantic attraction was when you feel both platonic attraction and sexual attraction at the same time.
This is so informative I think I’m nebularomantic I get attraction towards people but I get so confused trying to figure out what it is and by the time I think I’ve figured out what I’m feeling my attraction meter is back to 0 😅
Honestly, I feel as if I'm demiromantic and either greyromantic and aromantic. I do feel some slight romantic attraction, but it's rare and only towards someone I really love. I've been thinking I was cupioromantic for a few months now, but now looking at all these other labels, I've come to realize that I do, in fact, feel slight romantic attraction. I just don't know what I am. Though, I'm pretty sure I am demiromantic though.
I remember telling my friend what aromantic was and she was confused because she heard a romantic but i explained it was someone not gaving romantic attraction before i said the name
Can I still be greyromantic if I get crushes all the time (mostly fictional characters), but the majority of the crushes were based on sexual attraction and emotional attachment rather than romantic?
while we are telling kids what gay means, we can tell them what this means right? where is that divide of dating someone to fall for them, and the falling for your friend? isn't that why you go on dates, keep at it untill you fall for them?
i’m not totally sure nor am i the authority for this, but it sounds like it fits in aromantic and maybe romance repulsed! best of luck and just use whatever labels feel right for you or even none at all ♥️
@@EM-xw1dm You are correct on that, i am apothisexual and apothiromantic. which is indeed not expieriencing sexual and romantic attraction, and being repulsed by both of it(mostly if projected at me) i found out there is a label/flag for it on some other video thankfully 😄 Thank you for your comment EM💜
I believe (through my limited knowledge of LGBTQ+ communities) then you can simply identify as Aromantic. I believe that most of the mentioned ones are simply under the umbrella of aromanticism, which itself means to feel little to no romantic attraction to anyone. These smaller categories just specify what that “little” is, but if you’re a “no”, you can just identify as Arom (I think anyways)
@@aj_killjoy Yea that's true, I do use the term aromantic more often, since apothiromantic/sexual is not known to the majority of people at all. But apothi is important to me and others who fall into the aromantic spectrum since it also describes that im repulsed to it, not just the total absence of attraction 💚 Thank you for your comment though
Good grief, you make this complicated! Or else not nearly complicated enough. You're literally just making things up. There is NO science behind any of this. Attraction has got something to do with you, yes, but it also has a LOT to do with the person who's attractive. How you feel about and respond to one person may be nothing like how you feel about and respond to another person. You can't pre-label this stuff, and you can't reliably predict any of this stuff. ALSO there are some approaches here that are not "identities" but excuses for unethical behavior. You are NOT allowed to say to someone, I like holding your hand, and kissing you, and having sex with you, but I don't have to love you to do those things, I can just do that to you for my pleasure. That's not an identity. That's being a bad person. Please stop sharing these unfounded, narcissistic theories. If people believe you, they will get hurt, and they will hurt others.
@@Eklensjd8654 No, darling. That feeling you have is fresh air clearing away the fog of nonsense that these little girls are pumping out. This is all made-up out of nothing but the urge to label the feelings that EVERYBODY has as "identities". It doesn't make them or you or anyone else smart or special to believe these things.
