Another great/informative video. Unfortunately, you are in the middle of a very hot season in Laos. The Patou-Xay = Gate-Victory (Victory gate) and yes, it is roughly 50 years old. If you would like to try the real traditional Lao cuisine, you may need to go to a traditional Lao restaurant. There is one near the intersection between Lanxang avenue and Samsenthai road and is called Kuala restaurant, but it is somewhat more expensive than what you find on roadsides or shopping malls. Laos needs to built there own product.. And don't dependable to much on the Thai.. Laos can do there own coconut milk, Bamboo, ..sent and sale in USA like Thailand and Vietnamese...Like Padaek , sale for 7$ in USA... Pretty sure Laos make good Padaek..But I see only Thai and Vietnamese sale in USA!!!

It not to be as developed as it was, and the food was amazing which I didn’t expect because you don’t really hear much about Laos food compared to it’s neighbours
DO YOU KNOW , LAOS ...ALMOST THEY KNOW VIETNAMESE...SO YOU CAN USE VIETNAMESE TO TALK TO THEM ....THE STUDENTS IN LAOS HAVE LEARNED VIETNAMESE WHEN START TO GO TO SCHOOL...DUE TO VIETNAM AND LAOS ARE BROTHERS AND BEST FRIENDS ....
To me It doesn't matter the surroundings environment has have changed. It just how the retaliation of the country under the Communist rules that twisted and effect the living.

I think renting a scooter is a great idea! Where can I do that once I land in Vientiane and how much is it?
Best thing is to search scooter rentals on google, or ask your hotel. They generally either have some to rent out or know the good spots

Laos government might be not the best but laotion people are very friendly and peaceful low crime compare to Thailand
