There's some really, really insightful stuff in this review. The only thing I want to add is how much value the ending adds to the game's package. I'm right there with you when you say the game gets really monotonous in some of the segments closer to the middle. However, when you finally get to the end and can reflect on what actually happened before you woke up and while you were on the moon, the payoff feels excellent. The reason the puzzles exist, in particular, is really clever. This is the first narrative puzzle game I've played in which the puzzles weren't just tests for the player character according to the narrative. Your perspective and the way you present it is really valuable--comprehensive and also somehow really quick. Subscriber earned.
Not that the rest of each of your reviews isn't great, but 50% of the reason that I watch your reviews is the attention you give to sound, music, and voice. This is something that is only minimally covered by other reviewers. Since I came upon Final Fantasy VI (III in the US) in 1994, when I was 11, sound has been a guiding factor in which games I choose to play. It's very much the reason why I hold FF6, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man 2, Mass Effect, Witcher 3, Hotline Miami, FTL, among many others, in such high esteem. Sound isn't just the icing on the cake, but a fundamental component of a memorable game and I always appreciate you giving sound its fair due.
you can't be wrong when you begin with FFVI at 11 yo ! ;) (i had a NES before my SNES, but like you FFVI music/sounds are still today in my best of all time playlist)
That visual presentation analysis was one of the best I've heard from you. I love the way you analyze the different aspects of the game like an actual art critic. ggwp
You're actually the best reviewer on RUclips. You put so much effort into these and it really shows. Not to mention the writings excellent every time!!!
I just finished the game, and to be honest, I didn't find it that bad at all. Granted, I don't often play puzzle games, and I never did fully complete Portal 2 or Magrunner, but this game's story really brought me in. I didn't find the gameplay too repetitive, and for the most part, I found I could easily solve the puzzles with some time. I agree, though, that the developers could have added more things to move along the story. The game took me about 14 hours to complete, which I think is a while for this game, but I really did enjoy this game. I hope they make a sequel.
Sean Goresht man I don't know where you found the inner patience to play this boring game. I congratulate you for beating it. I only beat chapter 1 and that was it. Uninstalled it.
I'm one of those people that couldn't even figure out how to do the Riddler's puzzles in Arkham Knight without going to RUclips for like every puzzle almost... think I'm gonna have to pass on this one. LOL. Great review.
Really liked the video but mostly going out of my way to give you the thumbs up for verbally giving people the option to give you a thumbs down if they didn't like your content.
sound like portal, remind me of the fun time with my friend in portal 2 first time. We were playing the most difficult levels at the time without knowing it( the level entrance lay out is not linear) , at last we finished it and excited to get into other area and looking for more challenge and found out the other levels is too easy since we just finished the most difficult level.
that's sad, i was hoping for a adventure/light-survival game with lot's of narratif aspect (with IA... questioning on humanity... etc, like the title let it expect) but it's more a puzzle/Portal-like :( thanks for the review, shared on TuYa, as usual ++
yup already have it ;) thanks nontheless for the recommandation ! it was a nice game with clever puzzle ! (and you, if you like this, check the recent Obduction game ! a puzzle/reflexion game by the creator of Myst/riven ! )
This game seems a lot like the Talos Principle. The story and mystery in that game kept me going through the slightly too numerous and mechanical puzzles. Does the story in this game do as well?
in this game there is less puzzles, and puzzles are easier than in thalos but story plot, beats talos on the ground, less boring reading, more plot twists, etc for me thalos at the end was booring "ok i just end that last 20 puzzles, find stars cos i want to end this game" this is shorter in puzzles but give you more story so its more intense
yes, there is less puzzles than in portal, and less mechanics, and the mechanics are all from portal anyway but story is very nice, mostly i was just solving puzzles motivated by getting another conversation and more story portal has nice story, funny etc but if u like philosophy and questions like in thalos principle "can robot think like human" etc this is better than thalos
Does it really need it though? At least on PC there are already great texture mods and I don't think they will change more than the textures in a potential remake..
@Robert Ward: Yeah, I'd like an update on their take now that ME:A is out. All that anticipation, I'd be curious to see how it paid off for them personally.
Nice review. Convinced me not to go for it. Repetition in games, lack of variety, or anything that leads to monotony in gameplay are certainly things that turn me off. Thanks for the heads up.
I got it free on XBOX One Gold Live. Played through it - got 100% achievements. It's a PORTAL ripoff. But - it's done very well and is very fun despite the short singleplayer run time. What I found off was that some puzzles were too easy, but sandwiched between some puzzles that were way too hard. You can figure out exactly what you're supposed to do by looking at the room layout and the objects included. They always give you exactly what you need to beat the puzzle - no more - no less - and the level design is good enough to let you backtrack most mistakes without needing to restart a puzzle. Some elements that allow you to backtrack: however - aren't necessary and can cause confusion up until you do make the mistake.
You sir deserve many more views than you're getting. Your reviews are consistently top notch, and you release so many it's staggering! How do you have the time to play so many games to completion AND review them?
ACG It doesn't seem like it. Words seem to come very easily to you, and I can pretty much always count on your reviews to be objective and complete. Oh, btw, fellow Oregonian here :)
sorry that wasn't all i meant to say now I sound like giant asshole. I was on my cell. I mean to say that reviewing isn't very difficult for me because I have schedules for everything and a plan. The rest is my opinion and some editing
SOmething that I take to heart. Most likely because I am a loud person but...the game and the review matter more than me. Sure I joke that makes ME have a good time, but that's why you don't see a lot of pomp and circumstance with what I do.
ACG I definitely appreciate that. I never really like a lot of fluff, I like reviews to just be dense and concise, so I can get the most information in the shortest amount of time, and your format does that nearly perfectly. If I want comedy, I go to Studio C or something of the like, not to video game reviews. A little doesn't hurt, but it shouldn't detract from the review.
Hey man, just bought the game i watched Christopheer Odd "lets play" and your review i realy liked the imersion and the story suspense. I loved both portal games and when i compare each in terms of style i conclued that Portal is the "haha" tematic and the TT is more "serious". I´m not going to ask you how the story goes but do you realy think its not worth 18€? Thanks in advance! Liked the review :D
its like soma, if u enjoy philosophic questions like in "thalos principle" more than puzzles than yes there is less puzzles than in portal 2 or thalos but i enjoy story much more than in this two games there is much more in story than just reading "can machine think like human" notes in game
Sounds like it stumbles during its attempt to mimic The Talos Principle. I'll definitely check it out once it goes on sale, though. The art direction is neat.
Nice review. The game looks a bit like The Talos Principle to me, and sounds like it might share some themes, story-wise, as well? In any case, thanks for putting it on my radar!
Its definitely no Portal 2 that's for sure. Its also not a bad game either. The repetitiveness does bring down the fun factor a bit. Thanks for another solid video review!
+ACG Great review as always. Reminds me of a portal game aboard a mirrors edge version of a ship, but less portals and much more Chromatic Aberration. It does look good though. Although Destiny: The Taken Content and One Mans Lie looked good as well.
Well it IS an indi game so the resources were limited. But, valid reasons on the game design could have been more mash up to the story elements. like brief moment before each level was kind of immesion breaking.
SPOJLER ALERT Lady Vengeance its not greatest story in history but, when came out that player is TOM, and only controll ava using chip, few times in game she is trying to fight, crew nn europa create faraday cage to help etc when ava is inside player is forced to be in cameras, from now player can controll cameras and bots to help ava in puzzles and in the end player can kill ava, cos she want to go home, if u find secrets, codes etc u can open secret room on ship where are orders from captain to tom, tom isnt "bad ai" he just do whar orders say "dont let them leave europa, use lethal force" all game tom try only to save crew and earth for me that filozophy like in "thalos principle" is more intresting than puzzles

I hear you
The dingo didn't eat her baby she murdered it.
you can't be wrong when you begin with FFVI at 11 yo ! ;)
(i had a NES before my SNES, but like you FFVI music/sounds are still today in my best of all time playlist)
JJ O Yes, my dingo told me as much. And yet the mother still walks free.
Mass effect *-* I will play it again, for SURE!
That visual presentation analysis was one of the best I've heard from you. I love the way you analyze the different aspects of the game like an actual art critic. ggwp
spread the word man! and thanks
Wait for a sale. Bingo! Just picked it up free from Xbox Games with Gold!
It ain't free if you had to pay for a thing. Just sayian.
@@totty2524 You must be fun at parties.
Xbox game pass £1 for a month, this game and others are literally no more than a couple of pence.
Damn, your channel has grown........I was subscribed when you were at like 60k or something....Good job.
And I thank you for it sir

lol I have had that happens as well
At first the game looked interesting but by the end of the review even I thought it looked repetitive.
Really liked the video but mostly going out of my way to give you the thumbs up for verbally giving people the option to give you a thumbs down if they didn't like your content.
I just came across your channel last week, and man, I am LOVING it!
At some points in the video I expected GLADOS to throw a xenomorph into the game.
Another great revew mate. It's only 330 Thai Baht on Steam here (US$9.60) so will buy it when it comes out
damn son! thats a great price
That wall of numbers on the computer screen at 5:07 'I'm a real boy'
This is basically a barebones portal with a large amount of lens flare and no portal
less puzzles, way better story for me than in portal
because the story and background it beat thalos principle for me
The ending is really cool, though.
sound like portal, remind me of the fun time with my friend in portal 2 first time. your reviews are the only I watch keep em up and u should do a updated review for killing floor love ya
killing floor 2**
This reminds me of those cloister of trials from Final Fantasy X, moving around altars / orbs and whatnot :D
ACG reviews are good. No BS.
thanks!
I'll probably play this after a Steam sale, thanks for another great review 👍🏻
sup rigged sure!
I actually really loved this game!!

SOMA did a good job too but it's more survival than puzzler !
JoPe - yea its mostly horror
Thanks for the quick and detailed review, ACG.
thanks man
damn, what an amazing review! That was very detailed and helpful, thank you so much! :)
Glad you liked it Lego.
This game seems a lot like the Talos Principle. The story and mystery in that game kept me going through the slightly too numerous and mechanical puzzles. Does the story in this game do as well?
Did you watch the review he goes in depth about the story.
in this game there is less puzzles, and puzzles are easier than in thalos

portal has nice story, funny etc but if u like philosophy and questions like in thalos principle "can robot think like human" etc this is better than thalos
Portal 3 is the Lego Dimensions Portal DLC. It continues where the Portal 2 left of, so no your joke sucks.
Every sci-fi review makes me want Mass Effect Andromeda even more.
Same here lol
Does it really need it though?
At least on PC there are already great texture mods and I don't think they will change more than the textures in a potential remake..
I cri evertim... Andromeda is my biggest hope (:{
Now that Andromeda's here....do you still feel the same way? lmao

Finally figured out u have podcasts. ACG on the go!
indeed brother
+ACG your passion shows in your videos /podcasts. Thanks for everything u do.
just a quick question. How many hours of content is in this game?
Hey man, just bought the game i watched Christopheer Odd "lets play" and your review i realy liked the imersion and the story suspense. I loved both portal games and when i compare each in terms of style i conclued that Portal is the "haha" tematic and the TT is more "serious". great review as always. will you review The Final Station on Steam? Would be great.
appreciate that. Probably wont be able to do a final station one no sorry
no problem wanted just to ask :-) keep up with the good work and content.
I love your reviews. And your beard.
thanks
Sounds like it stumbles during its attempt to mimic The Talos Principle. I'll definitely check it out once it goes on sale, though. The art direction is neat.
ya did the look
Top review, from top reviewer
This is half price on the PS store ATM, should I buy? I'm a fan of portal and hoping this would provide a similar experience.
The name itself interests me highly, Did a report on A. Turing once, incredible stuff.
Interesing dude interesting game
Nice review. The game looks a bit like The Talos Principle to me, and sounds like it might share some themes, story-wise, as well? In any case, thanks for putting it on my radar!
thanks
another good review. thx acg. thumbs up
you bet
Awesome fucking review Karak, you deserve more subscribers man
thanks spread the word
Its definitely no Portal 2 that's for sure. Its also not a bad game either. The repetitiveness does bring down the fun factor a bit. Thanks for another solid video review!
Another cool video so quick after the last one. Prolific dude!
thanks another coming at midnight

Great review as always. Awesome to see the rare indie titles reviewed.

Awesome review! Game looks really interesting
+ACG Great review as always. Reminds me of a portal game aboard a mirrors edge version of a ship, but less portals and much more Chromatic Aberration. It does look good though. Although Destiny: The Taken Content and One Mans Lie looked good as well.
thanks spread the word!
Another excellent review.
thanks amn
Another cool looking puzzle based game that I would love to see you do a review on is Obduction by the creators of Myst.
Great review I'll wait for humble bundle
thanks
Well it IS an indi game so the resources were limited. But, valid reasons on the game design could have been more mash up to the story elements. like brief moment before each level was kind of immesion breaking.
Well at least it isn't as over hyped as Witcher 3, great review as always ACG.
So, it's Talos Principle in space.
It’s almost like Mei’s backstory, but in portal.
Just about to go to sleep and here you are. Darn.
like exploding head syndrome in karak form
+ACG *boom*
or at the very least above average
how do you review games so quickly? is youtube your full time job now? (love your reviews btw)
RUclips has been for 2 years now yes. I was laid off after working 20+ years so I decided to do this
How long is this $19 game? 10 hours? 20?
Very informative. First review from you i have seen. Thanks.
dope review as per bro
yayyyy no ads!
another awesome review Karak! keep it coming mate.
thanks man
I don't have earphones and I am in my office, so help me out is it a buy or wait for sale ????
Wait for a sale
He said wait for sale
Lol, I'm at work right now watching RUclips and surfing my twitter feed 😀
Wait for sale
Thanks evryone
I will put this on the ol' wishlist.
come to think of it, I think I'd name my a.i. Karak.
you saved me some money today, thank you!
you bet capt
Yeah, ill pass on this one.. Looks as fun as watching paint dry lol.
But great review as always ma mayn. Keep on grinding brother..
Take care,
Esat.
I'd give it a shot, but only if it's on sale.
So....Bieber songs actually cheer you up? _How??_
Can you change your review format? I don't think the static the sound, graphics... etc categories fit in every review
looks like everyone else does. Just a case of it not working for you. Check out Cosmic Engine on youtube. Good reviewer might be your style
I'm actually early to this one... What will I do if the bearded shaman of gaming responds?!
probably reply
Weren't you told to stay off Europa?
bahaha. Thats brillaint
This game reminds me a bit too much of the Talos Principle...
yes, but more story and less puzzles
thalos become boring for me after some point, but TT was rly nice and worth for me
Your my reviewer dude,.....yeah.....drop the mic,...backing up,....beep,....beep,....beep,.....beep,.....beep.
LOL - the voice actor sounds EXACTLY like Jeremy Irons.
Like Portal game
But it's so cheap! Why not?
Portal rip off..
I'm sorry but I genuinely think this is a poorly designed, poor excuse for a poorly disguised portal clone
hey no problem with that. WHat did you think of the end?
ACG To be fair I didn't make it to the end. Does it go someplace surprising in its last act?
SPOJLER ALERT
Lady Vengeance
its not greatest story in history but, when came out that player is TOM, and only controll ava using chip, few times in game she is trying to fight, crew nn europa create faraday cage to help etc when ava is inside player is forced to be in cameras, from now player can controll cameras and bots to help ava in puzzles
and in the end player can kill ava, cos she want to go home, if u find secrets, codes etc u can open secret room on ship where are orders from captain to tom, tom isnt "bad ai" he just do whar orders say "dont let them leave europa, use lethal force" all game tom try only to save crew and earth
for me that filozophy like in "thalos principle" is more intresting than puzzles
3mortis I appreciate the rundown. Maybe one day I'll finish it. I agree that the lore behind these games is often the bigger draw
This game sucks ass!!! No wonder they gave it away for free for the month of October 2017
lol
GIOVAHNNI GUCCI When you can’t solve a single puzzle in a game so resort to saying that it’s the game that’s bad, not you. Feels bad man
Meh!
hem
+ACG lol... I love your channel man.
I was hoping you would know that was a joke
wtf great FPS mechanics wasted on boring crap
