That's when there's a time signature that's different to the rest of the song
I don't know enough about music to understand what's happening...
99.9% of pop songs have a consistent "beat" throughout the song.. eg. for a song in "4/4", there are "4 beats in a bar". Basically, it means you can count 1,2,3,4... repeatedly throughout the whole song.
The songs in this series all have points where the number of beats in each bar changes. It's an unusual thing for a pop song to do. It means, you might be counting 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4... but suddenly there's a bar with a different number of beats. As a musician, one might think this would be very obvious to spot, but when it's written well, even musicians don't notice.
