God, there was so much stuff in this book I simply had to ruthlessly cut out in editing that it genuinely makes me sad! Every single line of this book is filled with a CRAZY amount of detail and I can't recommend you guys read it enough. Most importantly, you should all check out Hypsiple's episode because I really summarised the crap out of it in this episode to ensure the video was under 45 minutes BUT HYPSIPYLE IS GREAT AND LEMNOS IS WHACKY PLEASE GO AND READ IT xxx

Trust me, the ancient world isn’t as boring as you may think. In this series, I'll be talking you through the basic plot of The Arognautica: the only full written source of Jason's mythology to go to Colchis and retrieve the Golden Fleece ... and, obviously, Medea.

Your map is SO BRILLIANT I don’t think I’ll ever stop pushing it into peoples faces in the hopes they buy a print 😅😍
your a sacred ally! haha@@MoAnInc
Lol, classical authors really love their narrative inconsistencies. Thank you for posting this Erica! I’m looking forward to the next few books.

Thank you for making this. It’s my first time reading the Argonautica The translation I’m reading has a note about the places on the ship and it says that the effort the sailors have to make varies depending where they sit and that’s why it is more convenient to decide at random who seats where.
💗
I can tell I'm going to really enjoy this series :)
😇😇😇
I'm writing from Italy and I have to thank you! I started reading again in english up to your channel ❤ I know I must improve my english buy step by step it will become good ❤ I love ancient mythology, and I studied it at the high school and then at the university. You're great in what you do 🧡
Thank you SO much!!! ❤️
I bought Argo and Jason after you featured them. Will now get this book so I can follow you in this new series

Life saver to have this interpretation, thanks!

that was very good thank you. are there any classical texts that tell the story of heracles please? i can't think of where the full myth of the twelve tasks comes to us from. cheers.
This was such a treat to hear you breaking this story down to a modern audience!
:))
So excited for this series!
🥰
Loveeee this!! Did Aphrodite make the women of Lemnos smell really bad? Or did I imagine that? Or was that a different version? 🤣
I once lost a sandal in similar fashion. Still haven't been made king.
Actually, in Corinth and very close to the modern Isthmus of Corinth lies an ancient paved trackway called Diolkos which the ancient Greeks used to move boats overland from the Gulf of Corinth to Saronic Gulf (and vice versa), avoiding this way to sail around the Peloponnese, which is what the modern Isthmus stands for. In fact the idea for constructing the Isthmus in this place is ancient and sprung from Diolkos.
3:26 why was that so funny and cute haha
😇
This is wonderful to hear. Thank you for this and more. These are great to listen to when traveling or doing things that prevent one from reading. I am studying many things and am preparing to make a comparison between the Greek Argonautica and Jewish Exodus as far as seeing the monomyth structure. If you don't mind me asking, do you find the template in there in your work? It is a conceptual thing to see. It's coded in analogous verbiage as far as I can tell. Thank you for these.
Homer been real quiet ever since this one dropped
Didn't Polyphemus (sp?) supposedly found Rome? Confused bc if that is true than how does Romulus and Remus fit in?
Pelius and Peleus are easier to remember if you pronounce them correctly. Greek is like Spanish, in that you have to open your vowels when you speak.
Is this the story with the clapping cliffs?
Yes! That’s in book 2 🌊
