There are a few things that are off in this summary. For instance: hen the gods are on Mt Olympus determining that poor Odysseus, whom they all like, should be allowed to return home, Poseidon doesn't agree to let Odysseus off of Calypso's island because he is outnumbered in opinion; He isn't even there - he's off in Egypt enjoying a big party and sacrifices. That's why they decided to deal with the problem of Odysseus at that time. If you do this without reading the material, you will get some stuff wrong.

Yes. Zeus does tell Athene that since Poseidon isn't there and they're united to see Odysseus home, Poseidon couldn't speak out against them. I think that's what was meant here.

um.... i remember the story being Athena helping him and giving him clues as well as his cunning. and um.... Poseidon wasn't just mad at him for blinding his son... it was also for not giving him the credit for the horse trick. if someone else remembers this please let me know because now I'm confused.
