      @@rosemarietucciarone6327 Sure! It's 3'x6' on each side. So, you will need 5 pieces of 6', and 10 pieces of 3' long 1'x2' for the whole roof. Hope that helps!

    Love the design!
    I few tips to consider for next time:
    - Use star flat-head wood deck screws for the 2x4 frame. They go in like butter with no need for pilot holes. Just make sure you go easy or they will go right through the boards.
    - Get a pocket hole jig and use it to attach the roof frame (5:13min).
    - Pre-cut the angles for your roof support posts (4:00min) before installing.
    - I think the bar top tiny 2x4 side piece supports (6:17min) could have been done more securely. Turn them on edge and attach to back side of bar wall.

      So I built it. It's inside, but with a sunset feel. Bamboo poles holding up a thatched roof. I should have decorated first. If you build the bar first, you might just enjoy drinking at it instead of finishing the room. Just a caution.

    • @luvurpassion
      @luvurpassion  5 лет назад +4

      Thank you for liking it. This has gone through one rainy season in California. So far it’s holding up good. If you get too much rain, may be adding a roofing paper below the thatch will help. You can put a paper or something below the roofing paper from visual perspective.

    This is very good. Thanks for sharing. Did you have to secure the thatched roof along all borders of frame or just at top. In video seemed like it was only secured at top. Wondering if it’s done only at top is there a chance of flipping over in wind?

    Great video & I want to do it but How is this $200 to make , the Thatch roof alone I see is more than $200 , can someone help where I can get the material for the thatch roof as Amazon USA is $500, Amazon Canada is 2 small pcs for $50 , I believe I would need probably 12pcs ? HELP 😁

    • @luvurpassion
      @luvurpassion  4 года назад +1

      I think when I got the Thatch, it was about $100 and was enough for me to cover the whole roof. I needed to use about 6'x3' two pieces on each side. It's out of stock in Amazon now. But I see a different product in Amazon which might be good for you, please take a look. amzn.to/30pkB7s. Please check this let me know if you need any help! Please make sure to measure if that will cover your roof.

    • @luvurpassion

      Thanks! I used some large diameter washers while screwing the bamboo fence to the wall. Also you can use some wires to attach the bamboo fence to the screws for additional support. Here is an example washer: www.amazon.com/Stainless-Assortment-Different-Automotive-380-Pack/dp/B07CNZWHNT/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=washer+screw&qid=1569391283&sr=8-4&tag=luvurpassion-20

    Is it necessary to cut the roof supports at a 30 degree angle? I already made my cuts and didn't include the angle. Should I go back and get more wood?

    • @luvurpassion
      @luvurpassion  3 года назад

      You need to support the roof at an angle, as keeping it horizontal will not look good and also not good for water flow. You can try to still have the roof sloped without cutting at some angle, but it will be better if you can use a circular saw or something to cut at an angle to support.

    • @luvurpassion
