Before putting the camera in a pouch, case or using the silicone cover; I recommend covering the lenses with a lens cloth that's had a really good shake. Anything sliding over the lenses can cause scratches and a lens cloth reduces that risk - especially with the silicone cover.

This is one of the best and most detailed videos on using the Insta360 x3 on RUclips. Many thanks. It answered a lot of questions. But I have one more: do you have a suggestion for how to rename video clips so they can be called up for future use? I tried to do it with individual clips but this caused the app (on Mac Os, at least) to see them as corrupted. There must be some solution but I haven't found it. In any case, many thanks again.

When you copy it on to the computer does it automatically delete it from the SD card?
When you export a clip does the original stay as is? I’m guessing it does or you wouldn’t be able to go back & create more clips.
Why can’t you do manual color corrections? Did I miss that part?
Most of my posting is done on Facebook. Is there a better way to save my work so it looks good on that platform? Or should I figure out how to post on say RUclips or something?

When you import files to computer does it automatically erase it from the SD card?
When you create a clip and save it do you still have access to the original clip? I’m guessing yes.
Why can’t you adjust the color, brightness etc on this app? Or can you?
    Thanks

      Thank you.
When you copy the files to the computer those files remain on the microSD card and are not erased unless you erase them directly or format the micrSD card which will also erase them.
Yes, when you create a clip and save it you’ll still have the original to work with. The edits will be exported as a new clip.
You can do some adjusting of color and other parameters in this app but it is limited.

However when I publish them using Filmora 12 which i have used with my go pro hero 9 & my insta 360 go 2 the video is no as clear as i would like for instance if its moving and there is road surface or grass it seems to be fuzzy and not very sharp as lets say your videos.

Great question. I checked out the video in 4K and overall it actually looks pretty good. Some of the fuzziness looks like it is the line where the lens overlap. The X3 does a pretty good job with hiding that line but it can be noticeable sometimes especially on certain elements in the frame.
My other thought on this is check out what bitrate you are exporting your reframed footage as and then when you export from Filmora 12. For 4K I recommend using a bitrate of at least 50mb but not necessary to go any higher than 100mb if you’re uploading to RUclips. I generally do 58mb for my finished product based on the guidance from RUclips regarding 4K upload recommendations.
Thanks for sharing and have fun!

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  7 месяцев назад +1

The desktop studio app does not directly support this but what you have to do is adjust the clip and make a cut and export for each section you want to keep at a time. In other words, you can cut the first clip and export, then remove your cuts from the first clip and cut a portion of the clip later on in the original clip and then export, etc.
If you want a more direct way of doing this, the Insta360 app on a smartphone can be used and the jump cut feature is the way to do this.
I typically make my reframe adjustments in the Insta360 Studio app and then export the larger clip. I then make my cuts later on in my main video editing software. I find this workflow to be quickest and easiest.

I just got mine in the mail the other day. Installed the app, and got to the agreement accept section and stopped there. Started looking into permissions the app on android asks for and realized im not the only that took issue with what i saw there. All over the internet are posts about the apps on phone and computer both phone home a lot and have way too much access with permissions that are necessary to use the app, saying they can basically spy on eveything your computer does.
But i notice so many people use and love this camera.
Have you had any issues with your app and its permissions, or do you just accept and not bother? Is this a trust worthy company or should i just return this thing if im that concerned?

    • @GreatDayForAHike

This is a great question and a legitimate concern to consider for apps and the permissions granted to those apps by the end user.
It looks like Insta360 explains the needed permissions here and in section 1.3 explains what the access to each permission is used for: www.insta360.com/support/supportcourse?post_id=20166 I recommend reviewing this and determining if you are okay with what is outlined here.

I expect maybe they do that to ensure the cable is fully compatible for customers that do not have a USB-C port on their computer, but yes I get what you’re saying. Would be nice to have a faster/newer USB-C to USB-C cable.
