Exactly why I'm here
I’m ordering right now.
Exactly why I’m here too lol
thats how i got here.
Wow, this is the best YT safe video in history. You're seriously a genius my friend. Many thanks.
i am doing this tomorrow at my job !! its gonna be first time doing this type of conversion !!! with me luck
Nice work dude, this is something I've been wanting to do to mine for a while. Might have to paint sage as well. Sweet Toyota in background too
Thanks! I haven’t had any issues with it. Happy with the conversion overall. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project….also starting to get some footage of the Toyota in action so keep a look out!
Milling machines sure come in handy. I love my old Bridgeport.
They are very handy. Everyone seems to have a problem with how much space they take up but i think it’s worth it! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I am now considering changing my mechanical lock to another mechanical lock so a certain manufacturer for sure doesn’t have access to my current box.
Combinations on mechanical locks can be changed so only you have the combo. Requires a special tool to insert in back of mechanism. Available online.
As @1anthonybrowning mentioned you set the combo in the lock mechanism to what you want it to be
I'm glad my safe is older, before the digital locks came out.
Id love to find an old safe that was built well and re do it
I agree like the old school dial combo much better; however, my skills do not go that far. Especially a welder.
According to Rhino Safes with SafeX technology can't use mechanical locks of old with bolt doors. We shall see.
It seems to work well thanks for watching
Looks very sharp!
Thank you!
This is something I've been wanting to do but with but not being a locksmith I was concerned it would be outside my skill level. but this looked a lot more straight forward than expected, thanks
Your welcome thanks for watching
Resubmit this with directions for Liberty Safe, you will double your audience!
I’ll check into it thanks.
I convert d my safe to a mechanical tumbler so as to make it EMP/CME proof
Nice!
well i think you will have alot of people swapping back after today
That's why I'm here.
exactely why im here
Make it three
glad to see you all@@savageCI
I have a cannon gun safe that I bought from tractor supply a couple of years ago. I worry about an EMP attack so I want to switch it to a mechanical combination. Where did you buy that combination kit?
Amazing work!
Thank you.. and thanks for watching!
Just did my cannon safe same way. Easy
Dang i wish i had a metal work buddy that could teach me around a metal shop.
Practice makes perfect!
Nice work. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Typical example of manufacturer using non-standard construction (lock or locking element is not standard), so swap-out requires a lot of work to refit instead of just swapping a lock to another.
The other issue with this install is that now the locking bolt takes sideways forces which it wasn't designed for and will fail. The right way would be to weld a solid post behind the bolt, so that the lockin mechanism butts up against the bolt which butts up against the welded post, thus not transferring any loads to the lock body, being much more secure and rigid.
Amazing job, Love it! Did you drill hole for power outlet too?
I did not but good idea
Great work!
Thank you for the compliment. and thanks for watching.
I have the exact same safe! Any chance you could make the fab piece for mine as well?
I work on safes looks like you did adecnt job
Thank you! Its been working well for what it is.
Nice work
Only thing that I do differently is to add a relocker
Re locker? Seems to work fine so far
Good job!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching
Nice job!
Thank you!
Yeah I made the mistake of looking at how they did the bolt setup in my cannon... Probably going to just build a safe I've been designing for a few years now. Definitely going to upgrade to a mechanical lock.
Nice Bridgeport! J head or a 2j?
Good luck with your project! The bridgeport is a 1945 m-head I recently sold it and upgraded to a 1982 j-head i love it!
@@ht_fab3525 thanks! I almost picked up a m head a few years ago.. but I ended up getting a screaming deal on kinda worn 1965 j head. Fast forward a year and I found a parts machine with a perfect table and knee. You can still see the hand scraping marks on it. Picked it up for $100 and swapped everything over! I'm rambling.. 😂
Anyone know how much this conversion would cost?
Looks good man.
Thanks bro!
Looked great to me.
Its been working well. thanks for watching and commenting.
nice job!
Thanks! And thanks for watching
F digital locks…. Team mechanical here
💪🏻
I like the z50😊
Us as well 🤙🏻
THANK YOU!!
Thanks for watching!
Nice!!
👍🏻
Did this about 10 years ago when I couldnt get a mechanical dial safe. I dont trust electronics.
Im with ya. Cant beat an old style mechanical. Thanks for watching!
I just came across your video, what is a brand and model of your new mechanical lock. I have same setup.
Link in description will bring you to the lock. Thanks for watching
Where is the link? I dont see it in the description?
How did you get that heat/fire panel off on inside of door?
It just lifts up and out of the channel it sits in. Simple removal
@@ht_fab3525 not to simple it broke right in the middle lol
an EMP could be a problem. I know. You think I'm crazy, right?
Lol anything is possible right?
Thankyu
Thanks for watching!
I regret buying digital
Not trying to be insulting, but that's a lot of effort to install a good lock on a crap safe.
Lol i hear ya but i own it and cant afford a 5000$ safe so this is what im working with..
You bought a cheap ass safe and wonder why the lock fails? Spend some real money on a safe . The safe I own I’ve had for more than 20 years and the digital lock has never once failed .
Ok..real money got it.
shouldn't have bought a cannon.
Shouldn’t have done alot of things in life. Just trying to make a bad situation a little better for now
@@ht_fab3525
I hear ya on that. Same here. I bought a Cannon safe, same problem you had, kept locking me out. Couldn`t get any help from Cannon, so i cut the safe open and got my stuff out of it, in the dump it went. Bought another 2 safes since, no issues, so far. One is electronic, but has a back up key. The other safe i bought recently is a mechanical dial. I`ll be changing the other safe over to mechanical real soon. No more electronic safes for me, ever.
Lol those cheap ass cannon safes can be poped open with 2 big crow bars. Id have just bought a better safe. Rhino or fort knox. Def not liberty😂
Yea yea i know. I woulda bought this I woulda bought that! Right now im paying bills maybe a better safe in the future right now it works
