Great teaching video! Just to spill my thoughts....Im not sure if someone without a trainer should do this. This particular dog here has a very good reaction to pressure. Not all dogs are like that. That collar conditioning takes experienced skill in order for the dog to not negatively associate the collar stim with the recall command and then want to actively avoid you. Gotta have the know how when to apply stim pressure. A novice doesn't have this timing or expertise of when to maybe not use stim pressure. It's like putting a new driver in a stick shift car. They're not going to have that synchronized feel at first. Learning how to apply collar stim with a trainer supervising, the collar conditioning can be effectively trained. I'd have a novice amateur probably not use the collar stim except for enforcement from those outright drive by distractions. We know that means the dog is doing their own thing there, paying zip zilch adherence to you. Turn that pressure on and get that pup to beeline to you in moments like that. Anyway just my thoughts. Nothing wrong at all here. Your demo is all good. Y'all are getting it done! 👍 Luv the realistic pro tip uploads! ❤
Thank you so much for you videos! My pup (11 month now) does this great when he’s on a lead or we’re in the house/backyard and there are no distractions, but as soon as we’re anywhere else where there are better smells, he doesn’t even turn his head when I call his name, even when I apply stimulation. We have a Garmin Pro 550, and 4 is his usual low level stimulation. I’ve had it all the way up to 7 (max on my collar) and I still get no response if he’d rather continue sniffing that tree over there. Any suggestions for transitioning from doing well during training sessions to taking that skill into the field? It’s like when we’re in training mode he’s perfect, but otherwise he couldn’t care less.
I appreciate your training videos. Just so I understand, are you stimulating the dog with gradual increases of vibration or shock in this video? I’m wanting to train my own pup and want to do it right.
Your videos have been a great help thanks. I have a question on the e-collar do you start using the e-collar day one or do you have them wear it for a few sessions without using it. Thanks
When you do your "5 days" or however many sessions of collar conditioning you are doing, is that the only training the dog gets or are you still doing other drills with the dog in the meantime?
Does this include other commands as well? Should you only do one command at a time for a few days? Or can i mix in the same technique with a few commands she already knows?
How can I tell the working pressure, I'm at 14 on my 1900s,my dog Toby just turns his head a little ,at 22 it still doesn't seem to get the reaction wolf did,I'm just nervous of going to high
It's not an age thing it's a level of training thing. First step, train the behavior. Then use the training of the behavior to teach the dog that complying with that behavior empowers them to turn the collar off.

yup, have them get used to the collar for a bit
@@loneduckoutfitters thanks I’ve had her out a couple times with it on she doesn’t notice it I think I’ll start conditioning her this week.

I'm still doing other things like Marks, dog stand work, decoys stuff... all good to keep rollin
@@loneduckoutfitters What's your thought on the vibrate setting?

Would you recommend waiting until 7 roughly 7 months to start collar conditioning?

Great job sir
