- Hello! In today's cosy reading vlog, I'm sharing some fun spring outings: treating my mum for Mother's Day and book shopping at a vintage book fair. I also review some recent reads.

I especially love that I've found a like mined to soul to indulge in love of stationery and pottery especially Emma Bridgewater. Love the content of your channel. I’ve binged watched over the past few months and purchased many new books. Recently finished Thunderclap and Dinner with Edward and thoroughly enjoyed both books. Just started reading Reunion and The Nonesuch. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your video casts.
Loved the Mother's day gifts and the luncheon you shared with your Mum. On your recommendation, I purchased 'I capture the Castle' for my grandaughter on her 24th birthday to read on her first solo holiday. I hope she will appreciate the joy of travel and reading. I had to include the gift of a dressing gown embroidered with her initials, too.
That sounds so sweet and lovely, I am sure she will love it 🥹

Dear Miranda and Donna, what a wonderful treat this Mother's Day Outing was. You looked so beautiful in your lovely clothes. The dishes and the food seemed to be so special. I always love to watch you two eating and chatting. You have such a very special mother-daughter bond. I am so happy that you had such a wonderful time at the bookfair and found so many lovely books. It is such a treat to see the spring in all it's flowery glory in your house... so many stunningly filled vases. I wish you both a lovely week💗💗

What a lovely episode, enjoyed your visit to the Star Inn especially, what a beautiful restaurant and the food looked amazing. Harrogate Book Fair sounds fabulous, and what finds you bought. Having difficulty resisting my local secondhand bookshop, it has some real treasures too. Hope you feel better soon. PS both you and your Mum's outfits are beautiful 😍
Rural Hours sounds very interesting, as do the other books as well. You ladies so look lovely! I love your mom’s earrings and pearls! I wish I could do something like this for my mother, who turns 85 this week, but she’s too far away and she’s tricky to please. Even though she’s an avid reader, she doesn’t want to own books - hates clutter, only uses the library. (Although, she just got a Kindle, so perhaps a Kindle gift card.😮) Your mom is always so gracious about all you do for her.
Oh cant wait to watch this! My husband and son just headed out the door for a bit so I'm getting my cozy drink ready and settling down for some relaxing time!!!
I told my husband, “It’s my quiet time, now” so I could watch Miranda’s video without disruption. He managed to be quiet for about five minutes.😆

It’s so lovely to see the pleasure you and your mum have in each other’s company. What a lovely Mother’s Day treat, and you and Donna looked beautiful in your outfits. I love Seasalt clothes, I’m nearly always wearing one of their dresses. I got lots of ideas from your book talk, as always. So excited to hear about the Georgette Heyer book - I am a huge fan but have missed hearing about this book! One of my favourite books since the age of about twelve is “The One I Knew The Best Of All” by Frances Hodgson Burnett, I don’t know if you’ve come across it? It’s autobiographical. I discovered it by chance at the library as a young girl, looking for more by the author of my beloved Secret Garden and A Little Princess.
Tell your mum that M&S have some fab wide trousers in many lengths! I picked up some AND the cotton jersey culottes, which are gorgeous! Lovely vlog, thanks again 🌷

I so enjoyed the footage of your new books, the spring flower bouquets in your home, your outfits and the lovely lunch out for Mother’s Day (including the cameo by the large hare decoration in the garden 🐰). Glad you are feeling better and could enjoy looking for treasure at the book sale as well. The illustrations in the tulip book are beautiful.

Miranda this was a super good video! Donna your pink top is gorgeous and I love those sleeves. I'm definitely buying Rural Hours it sounds right up my street. I love your editions of the Anne books, I'm a few missing, so I'll be looking out for that version. The Tulip is a brilliant book, totally fascinating. And finally a moment of nostalgia with your Alison Uttley find. We had this version of the books as children including that one. Have a super week.

You know how 2000s Movies would have fun montages about people out on the town? This feels like that except for funner.
I just found your channel recently and I am very much enjoying your book recommendations! I absolutely love seeing your wall of vintage books on the shelves! I also love seeing all of your home decor. I live in Nebraska in the U.S. and a trip to the U.K. is on my "bucket list."
I am also rereading the Anne of Green Gables books. I had read them about 35 years ago when I was in high school (when the wonderful Kevin Sullivan mini-series came out!). I still have my copies from then so they are being enjoyed again! It just amazes me how I don't remember the storylines, except those that were used in the television adaptation. It's like reading a brand-new book! I only had and read the first 6 books in the series, so I would like to read Rainbow Valley, Rilla of Ingleside, and Lucy Maud Montgomery's other works as well.

I haven’t read Beyond the Secret Garden but have it in my TBR stack. I am currently finishing an Agatha Christy/Mary Westmacott, Absent in the Spring. Also, started Return to the Secret Garden and hoping I will enjoy it. Still working through Carol Ryrie Brink list as well. Oh for more time 😂

Hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day in the U.K. You have a wonderful relationship with your mum..and a beautiful day out! I live in the USA now and miss my mum whose in the U.K. and do not get to see her and rest of the family there much. My US family and I will be visiting the U.K. Easter week. Do you have any ideas on visiting lovely bookstores in and around London/Cotswolds/Buckinghamshire and Oxford, my daughter enjoys visiting bookstores but not too many here in northern New Jersey US except the chain Barnes and Nobles which we love!

There is nothing nicer than finding a book you always wanted at a book fair at a good price, such a great feeling & worth waiting for. My town has a big charity book fest

A belated but well wished Happy Mother's Day Donna! I didn't know Mother's Day was in March in England, until poor Princess Katherine posted her photo. What a ridiculous issue. You looked very pretty Donna and so did you Miranda. You are both lovely ladies and I "envy" your close relationship. Friends as well as MotherDaughter!🤗 I am finishing up The Secret Garden for the Comfort Book Club, only about 40 pgs. left.I did buy (from Blackwells🙂) Frances Burnett Hodgson's biography. I had forgotten much of The Secret Garden and have enjoyed it SO MUCH! Think I mixed some up w/ The Little Princess. Then onto ANNE! This was very enjoyable to watch, you always are. Thank you🤗

Lovely vlog. I love North Yorkshire and my dream would be to live there one day. I visited The Star at Harold many moons ago, it was lovely. In fact I still have a glass water bottle from our meal. It is very strange how mixed my feelings can be watching your video’s. That beautiful unique band between the both of you. So deeply connected . I feel privileged to get the opportunity to witness such love. And at the same time I often feel some kind of fear and sadness for the unavoidable time when one of you has to live with the loss of the other one. Maybe it is because right now it is a theme in my own life
