Never to take anything away from Morgan, Hailey, and the other singers he works with, but Scott Bradlee is a genius, as is his “baby” Post Modern Jukebox! ❤️🎶
Got to hear this in my first PMJ concert in the UK in 2015 during their epic 2015 tour that featured a line up of Morgan, Haley Reinhart, Ariana Savalas, Casey Abrams and Scott Bradlee who performed every show of the tour that covered the US, Europe, Australia & a few Asian cities… Take Me to Church was definitely an iconic highlight ❤ (Scott doesn’t often tour that often nowadays unfortunately, he performed Creep differently at all five PMJ Shows I saw that year)
Great work and welcome to PMJ. If you like Haley and Morgan and pure vocals, you really need to watch their COVID session with Morgans husband on guitar. Dear Prudence by The Beatles (Morgan James & Haley Reinhart Cover)> I would love to hear your analysis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work, glad I found you
Morgan is Juliard trained. She has covered the entire Beatles White Album. She has sung the role of Jesus in an all female cast version of Jesus Christ Superstar, Her version of Dream On makes Steven Tyler jealous. I don't know why she is not an international superstar, but the fact that she isn't yet gives her a great deal of artistic freedom.
Great comment @ericzeichert511. And the last sentence is exactly why she isn't as well known as she could be. She wants to be true to herself and produce her music, not what some record exec thinks she should do. I for one am very thankful for that. But if you don't mind, I'd like to expand on that JCS story for those others that don't know. Morgan dreamed that she performed Jesus Christ Superstar as Jesus and Shoshana Bean was Judas. She decided to put on an entire female production of JSC and started hand selecting some of the best vocalists, performers, musicians, producers and engineers in the business - all females. She put on a live concert at he the Highline Ballroom and later got Pledge Music involved to raise some money to produce the album. Unfortunately Pledge Music stole everyone's money (allegedly 🙄) and filed bankruptcy. If spite of suddenly not having the finances to release the CD, Morgan promised her fans that she'd release it eventually. To paraphrase her, “It will get released, I just don't know when.” Well, she kept her promise and delivered. She truly appreciates her fans and knows how dedicated they are. And she shows her appreciation by going that extra mile in return. Yet another reason to love her. Check out Gethsemane, you WILL be impressed! ruclips.net/video/nuqVjC0XrkE/видео.html So yeah, I'm a Morgan fan. Big time. Check her out at www.morganjamesonline.com/
Fun trivia: this was the _first time_ that Morgan and Scott did this piece together. Morgan revealed this in the chat when Elizabeth Zharoff (@The Charismatic Voice) premiered her reaction to this piece.
4:03 "Ooooh, chills" Yup, frisson again. Like I commented in your Dream On reaction, it happens a lot when listening to Morgan. On a side note, I prefer the reaction videos from professionals like yourself (singers, vocal coaches, etc) the best because you all teach me why I love her singing so much. It helps me to better understand how talented and how hard she has to work to perfect her art. And how she makes it look so easy. She's amazing! Anyway, here's my standard promotional post below. I've been a BIG fan of Morgan since 2014 and I absolutely LOVE her!!! As I said, I watched your reaction to PMJ/Morgan's cover of Dream On, liked it and commented on it. Since Morgan is an Indy, I do what I can to help promote Morgan so I almost always post a comment with a lot of links to her videos. But I didn't this time for your Dream On reaction. Then this review came up on my recommendations and I thought, "OK, here's a good opportunity to help more people find her. So much Good! I think great vocalists really shine with sparse accompaniment. Her and Scott's version of Sweet Child 'o Mine, and all of the "Quarantunes" series she did with just her husband Doug on guitar, are absolutely outstanding.
@@HaleysTusk You're Right. Its been so long since I listened to it i forgot. I guess I should take my own advice and check it out again. I remember now their laid back mood and great harmonies. Weird how I could remember the mood and beauty and forget the actual song. Thanks
@@terrimoseley8650 I have reason to remember that video specifically, even if it’s almost 8 years old. I was lucky to be smack dab in the middle of that incredible time both PMJ & Haley/Creep went viral. I lucked out going to their London show which happened to be the final of that European tour. I saw Haley sing creep before the video came out, weeks after they recorded it. A month before, I randomly tweeted to Haley if I could buy her a beer in London after the show, incredibly she accepted! She was new to PMJ so I was basically the only fan who knew of her. The meet & greet was cut short, Scott welcomed us to see them after the show (back then the cast often came out after the show to meet fans). After the show, security pushed us out, I was adamant to take Scott up in his offer & waited. I told security Haley, one of the cast, was expecting me, he asked my name & went back to check. Minutes later, Haley came out to fetch me 🤯. She took me & a friend of hers to the back where they celebrated the final show. I met Morgan & Scott back there, Casey performed Amazing Grace on his melodica as we left. please make a reaction to daneliya tuleshova, she also sings this cover, in my opinion even better
