Don't worry about not rating books highly!!! It's your opinion. Own it! We watch your channel because we love YOU, not a fake you. We love your authentic ratings!!! 💞
I feel like YA at this point needs to split into two separate genres. One for 12-15ish and one 16-18. There's so many YA books now with heavy content that boarders adult literature and you don't know until you read the book.
100% agree - I work in a bookstore, and there is always the question from some parents with their children in the YA age group for reading, questions on content.
Agree! Some YA books have terrible content that even I don’t want to read
I agree. Sometimes I see books in the YA section that I've heared stuff about... that I wouldn't call YA themes
Nah, google "Night in Zagreb" by Adam Medvidovic.Readers already declared it the book of the century. It's like Lord of the rings for grown ups plus they say all the shit is true in the book
These sorts of books should be assigned New Adult rather than YA labels.
25 minutes left in school and rachel posts a 24 minute video 😍😍
MOTHER IS FEEDING US WITH CONTENT!!
YES to reading the other two Abby Jimenez books before Just For the Summer!! My jaw was on the FLOOOOOOR.
all rhodes lead here by mariana zapata was my favourite read from april!!
Ohh it's on my shelves. What season does it take place in? The cover gives me fall vibes but I can't tell from the chapters/first few pages. I love matching my read to the seasons.
@@manonvo8615 at first I think it takes place in the winter but you spend a whole year with the characters so you get every season. I think it would make a great cozy read but also it would hit at any time since it spans a whole year!
@@skyethorne4568 Thanks! That's very helpfull😊😊
no, because why is “just for the summer” SO GOOD!! literally the definition of “if he wanted to, he would” it was a 6 ⭐️ read for me 🫶
I didn’t read before you, I have now read 2 books in two days and more on the way, thank you
I’m in the middle of one dark window and I’m loving it
Praying you feel better soon girl💗 shows how much you love doing this and appreciate everyone who supports you still filming with a cold💗
had a very draining day and came home to this video, exactly what i need right now! thank you for being here rachel 💕
My comfort youtuber and inspiration As Always Rachel😭😭😭😭😭
The Iron King was one of the original YA series, it’s like over 10 years old. So really the other series took notes from Julie Kagawa ❤
Omg that edition of Powerful?!?! Stunning
I love your hair in this video it looks so healthy and I’m loving this color on you!💜
Truly every single time I open the RUclips app, I check to see if Rach, Soph or George have a new upload for me to watch 🫠
Same lol
Ooooohhhhh love your monthly reading wrap up!!! Love watching a fellow Aussie talk about books!
Any chance you could make a video of your favourites (per genre) or top recommendations? Would love to see your favourites.
I’ve seen all you book videos (or so I thought) but I can’t recall when you read “yours truly” and I love the video with Soph of you and Georgia recommending your favourite books.
You must be the most calming and comforting person on RUclips ❤😮💨
Rachel, even sick your voice is beautiful!!
You read so much! Love that for you
Just for the summer was one of my top reads of the month too! Such a good time reading it ☺️ ❤
Started the Eden series in April and really have been liking that!!
My favorite book of the month was defiantly the second Magnolia Parks!
Amazing wrap up, Rachel ❤ my favourite April read was hands down The Reappearance of Rachel price
I'm intrigued from bride of the shadow king that cover is gorgeous and the summary you gave I think I'd like it 😊
OMG YAYAYAY A NEW RACHEL VIDEO 😄😄
I’m excited to get to One Dark Window in May. I’m also going to listen to Song of Achilles. I’m not as excited about that one, but I hate being left out. Hopefully the audiobook helps me get through it. My favorite books from April were Before We Were Strangers, Life’s Too Short, and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
The Australian version of powerful is so pretty
Great video - so many books! I completely agree with you on Eric Journeys. Just getting to a place rarely holds my interest.
My favorite April read was a middle grade novel, The First State of Being (by Erin Entrada Kelly). It's a time travel story, but not action packed; it's more an exploration of what makes any moment momentous.
my 100wpm self is so much keener to try reading again thanks to your enthusiasm towards and description of books 😃
Yay another video from you this week. I love all your book videos. I read better than the movies last month and it was my five star read. It was amazing. Any recs for a book similar to it that would be enjoyable ?
You got me beat this month! Barely read 14 books. But I also started Spanish lessons. :)
Romancing the Grump by Jenny Proctor & The Cursed Princess Club vol. 1 was two of my favorites from April!
I felt similar with Invocations, I enjoyed the writing and how the characters connect too. It was slow in some parts but I enjoyed it overall and I picked it up because of my book club if not I wouldn’t have
am I the only one who saw 2 butts on the cover of Paper Princess? hahaha love your videos so much!
My top reads of April were The Sword of Kaigen (epic fantasy) & The Familiar (historical fantasy). Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys those genres. The Sword of Kaigen, in particular, is a book I can’t stop thinking about ❤️. Funny Story was also a fun read that month 😊
Hey Rachel, please read Ember in the Ashes. It's so good - high stakes, trials, and fast paced scenes. ❤ I think you will love it
I feel like I’m missing something with the Powerless hype 😭 I thought it was one of the worst written books I’ve read
Love all your videos❤❤
We all have different reading tastes and it's ok to not have the same opinion as most people, never feel bad about that. Thank you for the tip on the Abby Jimenez book, I recently picked that up and will now download the other 2 on my kindle. Thank you for such great videos. Legendary by Stephanie Garner was my top read for April ✨🪄
Where did you get the powerful cover version ugh it's so beautiful
She never fails to motivate me to pick my book !! Love her Sm 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

So funny what you said about Song of Achilles, I felt like I wasn't expecting it to be a romance when I picked it up, I thought it was gonna be more of a war story with two best friends. And I ended up not liking it as much because it was MORE romance heavy than I wanted it to be haha
Thanks for the honest review of Iron King! I can tell based on what you said that it’s not for me so I won’t waste my time 😂
I just finished the invocations I liked it alot
I subscribed soon as I read the Bible quote 🖤
Totally agree about not connecting to The Song of Achilles 😢
My april favorite probably my spring favorite read was Book Lovers by Emily Henry😻
Of all the books I read in April, my favorite was the Knockemout series. While I loved them all, they got better as the series went on, with the third and final book being my favorite.
Looking extra forward to picking up funny story now, mines still in the mail 😭
My favourite book of April was a feather so black by lyra selene 5 stars I loved it I think you would enjoy this one
From how you described it, paper princess sounds like the Hawthorne brothers books
Funny Story 🥺🤍🫶🏻 5 stars for me too!!! Em Henry is my girl. I can’t believe I have nothing left from her to read! 🥲 Buttttt, Im about to start Just for the summer 🫶🏻🤍
My favorite book 📖 that i read last month was The Notebook 📓📒 by Nicholas Sparks... My one and only 5 🌟✨⭐⭐⭐ rating, i highly recommend it to ya if you wanna read it this month or anytime soon in the near future
I LOVE The Notebook!
I had read the book was much worse than the movie(that I LOVED) and this was the reason I had never thought of reading it till yesterday! Now with your comment I will definitely pick it ip🎉
Fantastic video Rachel, hope you’re feeling better!
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day ❤
Please read the bridgerton series it's soo good
I feel the same way about books where a quest is the main storyline 😂
May i ask why you enjoy ya fantasy so much ? 🌟love you by the way
so annoyed that just for the summer was my first abby jimenez!! but i loved it sm
i remember reading the iron king series when i was 12 or 13 and i really loved it , now im 18 and i was like why not re read it u know omg i coudnt even get through the first book , i was so confused that i loved it back then but now being more experienced i keep comparing to other YA books ive read overall i rate the series a 3 out of 5 cause the third ne is pretty good ngl but yeaaah it doesnt hit the same for me anymore, which made me really sad.
Omg the iron king was my childhooood! I read it in early high school and I loved it at the time but it is veryyyy YA hahah I feel like the iron king walked so ACOTAR and all other fae fantasy books could run. I’m pretty sure it was released in 2010 so before all of the others came out, so if anything the others copied off iron king in my opinion!
Yep, same! Definitely would recommend it for those looking for a book on the younger end of YA.
My fav book of April was before we were innocent.
not me being 200 pages deep into just for the summer before hearing i should’ve read her 2 other books first 😭
Wow 16!
I didn’t like The Song of Achilles either and felt like what am I missing here why is it so obsessed over on social media!
I have a 16 books I wish I could do that
there is one book called Navigating through time by an American author Named Eric jones the book is quite expensive but it isa mind-blowing book the ebook costs 490 rs but every penny was worth spending i am a book lover and this book blows my mind importance of time time management time i have never read a book better then this one on time management ONE must at least Once in life read itread it once in life man
💚🖤
❤❤❤
It always makes me laugh that Erin Watt is in fact Elle Kennedy…AND it’s been turned into a podcast series on Spotify (called the royals or something??) which is the most insane and cringe but kind of amazing thing ever 😭🤣
FIRST ILY RACHEL COME TO AMERICA
Ily?? What is that? What does that stand for?
@@aprilvaughn1089 it stands for ' i love you '
❤❤❤❤❤
Not me seeing Hothouse Flower in the background and just singing How did it end? in my mind the whole time 😂
One recommendation I would make is speaking more about each book, without rushing through ALL of them . I know they are 16, but maybe you could make 2 parts and we would definitely watch both videos. I always want to know more things about the books *even spoiler parts with the appropriate warning*. I really like hearing your opinion and more in depth reviews would be amazing!
❤❤❤
