Sara if you love “a book you don’t read but feel“ + like the world war 2 setting, I think you‘d really enjoy “the book thief“!!
Oh now I finished watching & you mentioned the book yourself haha. Yes, definitely wait a lil until you‘re in the mood :)
Nah 22 hrs ago, this is trippy
@@tay_rizulLITERALLY! I had refresh my notifications to see that this wasn’t posted yesterday bc this just gaslit me lol
@@tay_rizul she uploads early to her patreon so those people are able to watch/comment earlier:)
I am not even kidding!! I AM LITERALLY READING IT RIGHT NOW!!! I was procrastinating the ending cuz I feel like I know what will happen and finally picked it up again to read it and sara posted AND I SEE THIS COMMENT !!! 😭🥹
You should do a vid where you read books and compare them to their movie/tv adaptations!!
I love that idea💖💖💖
SARAH YOU SHOULD DO THIS!!
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman literally changed my life. the first 50-65 pages i was literally gonna DNF it and i’m pretty sure i put it down and started another book but then i came back to it AND THANK GOD I DID because it made me cry so many times and the quotes in it are so amazing! highly recommend
I loved Anxious People
SAME !! I struggled so much getting into this story but once I was in it I could not stop reading and cried so much. God i love that book
Ok I guess I have to pick it up again because I DNF‘d after like 70 pages!!!
Loved Anxious people so much. Again took me a while to get into it. But such a beautiful book!!
Wait really ?!!!! I've tried that novel twice and couldn't get past the first 50 or 60 pages 😂 am i going to try calling third time??!!!
let's all thank sara for being so sweet and caring about us😭💗💗💐
The book thief is amazing, it has so many feels and a great writing style. It’s one of my all time favorites. The audible production is fantastic also
Kristin Hannah’s writing is SO SO top tier
Beartown is the first of a trilogy. And the story of the town as a whole is a slow burn over the trilogy. I recommend continue reading the series and you'll appreciate the first book more and more. Backman is one of my all time fave authors. Def read more of his work. Try Anxious People or A Man Called Ove next.
Books that have blown me away this year include: The Silence That Binds Us. Bright Young Women. The Last Love Note. Remarkably Bright Creatures. The Butterfly Project. And I really loved The Prison Healer series.
Perks of being a wallflower is my favourite book ever written, I’ve never related to a mc more
me too! i think the people who love it as much as we do have depression LMAO
Perks is my favorite book, I've read it every year since 2011. The Nightingale was a 5 star book for me 3 years ago and Beartown was a 4 star read. So watching this video with some of my favorite books was so lovely!
That sleep after a good cry >>>
It’s so fun to see you read books for the first time that we’ve already read!! My favorite book of all time is We Begin At The End by Chris Whitaker. This book is so slept on and it breaks my heart bc it is just so so good
I love love love Perks of Being a Wallflower. One of my absolute favorites
Kristin Hannah’s The Great Alone got me back into reading. I think the Nightingale is my favorite of hers so far! I didn’t think I was going to be into historical fiction, but now I’m hooked ❤ those tears man!
Sara I swear we’re on the same wavelength sometimes 😂 I just finished Beartown recently and immediately picked up the other 2 I 10/10 recommend reading the others I’m almost done with 3rd and it’s ahhh in the best way possible. Love your videos 🤍
I adore historical fiction!
And my love for them started since reading The Book Theif!
That is the best book ever!!^^❤
I looove Kristin Hannah’s style of historical fiction 😭 & I never thought I would until I read two of her books (the four winds && winter garden) recently 🫶🏻
& I do like historical fiction in general, but Kristin Hannah is next level
I read the first two books years ago and loved them! The HBO series of Beartown is done well. I would like to go back and read the rest of the serie. I read The Book Thief in March and it touched my heart so deeply. A book that was so unique and beautiful.
You might like All The Light We Cannot See since you enjoyed the Nightingale so much! Love this video btw ❤
Clicked because you put binding 13 on the thumbnail! I know you’ve already read it but PLEASE continue with the series I beg
I loved Beartown and the fact Backman is from my country, Sweden🥰
for my historical fiction lovers, two books I think about weekly are 'a thousand splendid suns' and 'home fire'. A piece of my soul is missing from reading these books
The NIGHTINGALE was the best book I’ve read. I finished it 2 weeks ago and can’t stop thinking or talking about it. Since i finished it, I’ve read 2 more Kristin Hannah books and purchased 5 more!
I am not a big fan of historical fiction but love Kristin Hannah’s writing. I got into her books earlier when she wrote more contemporary fiction and the way she gets you invested in the characters is everything. I held off when she started going historical fiction but shouldn’t have doubted her-I liked The Nightingale so much (in a heartbreaking destroy me way) and will now trust her always.
Omg now it’s Beartown-one of my faves. Again the characters and the heartbreak! The second one, Us Against You is also so good. There was a third released in the past couple years but I haven’t read it yet.
Omg your smile is so pretty ❤
EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. You always post when I need it the most sara 😭❤️ THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING I COULD ASK FOR!!! ✨🫶🏻
I love your vlogs so much! Today was a pretty rough day so your videos always cheer me up and they’re my comfort place💖 gorgeous as always and ily so much!!!
Beartown is written by a Swedish author and so the book takes place in northern Sweden
I love Backman, he's one of my favorite authors. Beartown is such a wonderful series. I also love Anxious People and A Man Called Ove.
i'm so happy you finally read beartown!! the way you described your feelings about it was so perfect i felt the exact same way!
Nightingale is one of my all time favorite books! I felt like I’d been to France by the end. The storytelling was amazing.
Watching your videos feels like I'm reading my favourite book.
Beartown is a trilogy in case you didn't know!! I loved it ❤️
omg, seeing you pick up my favourite book (the perks of being a wallflower) made me so excited 😭😭😭😭😭
So excited for this vid!!❤ thank you sm for making comforting and entertaining videos🥰
The Percy Jackson series is my 5 star series
Perks! Please watch the movie again! It puts everything in perspective if you didn't get the book that much.
I haven't read the perks of being a wallflower, but that movie was somehow a FAVE of mine in high school. I deeply loved the movie but it also made me sob every time I watched it. Now I am tempted to go out and get it!
I am not a huge historical fiction person and did enjoy The Nightingale but it wasn’t 5 stars for me either. However, Firefly Lane was SO GOOD. The show really did not do it justice and kinda made me mad to be honest lol. I never read the second book just because I was content with the ending of Firefly Lane (idk if that’s the right word but I liked how it wrapped up and didn’t want to continue the story for it to be ruined).
My 6 star read is all of the Inheritance games series!
OMG I was shooting a RUclips video and was looking if any of my favourite booktubers had posted a new video so i could watch it while reading then I saw that you had posted a video, so I IMMEDIATELY started watching it
I cried three times while reading The Nightingale on a plane ❤ it’s going in my top books of all time list!
So nervous watching you read my favorite book (perks) and hoping you love it 🫶🏻
Thank you Sara for warming up my day.🫶🏻
If you want to get into historical fiction maybe something similar helps you. I just got into books that take place in the Regency and Victorian era. These are some of my favourites I read so far:
- A Most Agreeable murder (For me it's like Bridgerton meets Knives Out)
- Anne of Green Gables
- Half a Soul (with fantasy elements)
And now I am starting classic romances and I love it!
My fav top 5 star reads:
Binding 13 & Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh
I Fell In Love With Hope by Lancalli!
Aww definitely going to add The Nightingale in my TBR! ❤
I got distracted by love it or list in it the bg during beartown LOL
The great alone by Kristin Hannah i feel like you would love
After this video I bought the nightingale, I just couldn’t resist 😅😅😅
I think Perks is a book that can be highly affected by the time of your life that you read it. I read it in high school and it'll forever be a favorite book of mine, but if I were reading it for the first time from the place in my life that I am now, I think I'd still enjoy it but it probably wouldn't impact me the same way.
I wasn't a historical fiction person until Kristin Hannah (I haven't ventured outside of KH) but out of hers Nightingale is my least favorite which goes to show how amazing the rest are!
Alone with you in the ether by olivie blake is the book that helped set me free 💙
Sara!!!!! I read a book and INSTANTLY thought of you because it’s just THAT GOOD. I feel like you’re my bestie even though we’ve never met because I just couldn’t wait to tell you about it😂 It’s The Kindred’s Curse saga by Penn Cole. I picked it up because another RUclipsr loved it, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. The first book was good, but the second book is FANTASTIC so far. I highly recommend. I had responded to your Instagram story for this video, but that was before I read this series, so I couldn’t tell you it was a favorite yet. There are 3 out right now, and a 4th is coming out this year. I haven’t read Powerless by Lauren Roberts yet, but I feel like it gives off similar banter and fantasy vibes. I highly recommend, and I’ll be thoroughly invested until you pick it up 😘
She writes historical fiction romance her books seriously capture your heart definitely check out the great alone by her
The nightingale is a 6/5 for me ❤❤❤❤
Times like this, I wish I wasn’t an empathetic person. Watching you cry made me so sad. I’m gonna have to read the Kristin Hannah book now
We need weekly vlogs plsssss❤
Sara please read code name helene by ariel lawhon! The setting is similar to the nightingale
I just read the nightingale and I BAULED like a baby
I am currently reading the twilight reign series by Tom Lloyd, and am really enjoying it!😄♥
(this has nothing to do with "twilight")
I believe I sent this to your insta lol but my favorite book of all time is the Secret History by Donna Tartt!!! It’s truly my fav and I reread it once a year now :)
DAY = SAVED!!
*posted 1min ago*
YESS!!!! Let's go *clicks*
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is (imo) for a very specific audience. I think everyone has the potential to get something out of it, but if you don’t relate to Charlie or what he’s been through, you won’t be overly attached to the story.
Ahhh I’m one of the people who recommended Beartown and I’m so glad you finally read it! 🩷 Just so you know, there are 2 more books in the Beartown series. I will say that Beartown is my favorite, BUT I never cry in books and I was SOBBING at the end of the 3rd one. 😭
I love your videos and everything
Yay love your videos Sarah
the nightingale is my FAV BOOK EVERRRR 😭
Sara, I'm so excited to see you read The Reappearance of Rachel Price, I just finished it yesterday and I'm eager to know your thoughts!!! 🫶🏻🪄🌷✨🌼🦋🌻
Your tears 😫😭😭😭😭
beartown is one of my fav series ever!!
Who else is obsessed with seeing what Color nail polish Sara is wearing in the video lol they are always such a slay
Did i stop reading my book just because i saw this notification? YES
Perks of being a wallflower broke me the movie especially was so impactful. Feel like another really good and impactful read/mini series that stuck with me forever is “Looking for Alaska.”
So true! Reading Looking for Alaska at 14 changed my brain chemistry
true i really love looking for alaska
same same same, looking for Alaska got me into reading and its just so impactful and beautiful
I loved these books and tv adaptions!!
i read looking for alaska the beginning of last year and loved it sm! i’ve been wanting to watch the mini series but wasn’t sure how good it is
The best part about The Nightingale movie is that Elle & Dakota Fanning are playing the sisters
I adored The Nightingale, she has another book called The Great Alone that NOONE TALKS ABOUT but its so so so good, probably my favorite by her!
i’ve been begging for years for her to read it!!
Yes! I just read The Great Alone and lovedddd it! I liked it more than the Nightingale
@@brookeledford9580 Kristin Hannah literally destroyed my heart and then repaired it with that book its so special
I read that this month and has become my #1 Kristen Hannah book
LOVED The Great Alone! And her newest book The Women-a masterpiece!
I'm so glad you loved Beartown
SARA THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING -- YOU SHOULD DO A BOOK THIEF READING VLOG EVENTUALLY BECAUSE THAT BOOK DESTROYED ME
The perks of being a wallflower is an all time favorite
i second this
I love The Perks Of Being A Wallflower !
EVERYONE CANCEL YOUR PLANS SARA UPLOADED
For real? LOL
The Beartown trilogy is my favorite in the contemporary fiction, I am in love with character studies, the glimpse into the real world, politics, teenagers, families etc.. Such a beautifully done work of art
just finished Beartown! are the other two books worth it??
@@peditsix definitely yes!! the second one is my fave! especially if you like Benji
I really enjoyed this video; I love seeing you branch out! I'm a huge fan of Kristen Hannah and have read most of her books. The Book Thief is also a great book! One I haven't seen mentioned in your comments and is one of my absolute faves is Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine--very highly rated on Amazon and Goodreads. ♥
sara your videos feel like a warm hug 🥰
i dont know how well this would work but i feel like a good video idea would be to read old booktok or booktube books. Like now days everyone has been picking up all the new releases and the more popular books right now. But instead you could make a video where you read all the books that used to be popular in 2020 to 2022 and see how peoples book preferences may have changed. It would also be kind of a fun throwback💗
Historical fiction it not my favorite but Kristin Hannah is a favorite of mine. I’ve read a lot of her’s and the last one is her newest The women and believe me when I say it’s going to be a top read of the year.
if you want a less sad, more funny backman story you should read anxious people! it's so good
Thank you for being so considerate, caring, sweet about us
your videos are like a WARM HUG
I watch them whenever I am feeling sad, angry, or just need some book recs
BTW- you should make more reading vlogs
I LOVE THEM
You’re my favorite booktuber!! When you post a new video my day gets better🥰💗🌷
oh girl Kristin Hannah books are so good! You should read the great alone by her !
The red hair and the blue shirt just go sooooo well together ur GORG
Sara i never rate my reads anymore! i feel like putting a number on my feelings doesn't feel right anymore and its such a nice feeling not having the pressure to rate books accurately! maybe you should try it out, like not rating the books you read for a week or a month
love love love your reading vlogs 🤭
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
sara!! you need to read ‘alone with you in the ether’ !!! it’s so so good
I’m in my “idk what to rate anything” era as well and I’ve just moved to a “recommend/recommend to certain people/do not recommend” scale and it’s taken the pressure off!!
You are my fav booktuber! Thank u for giving me back the motivation to read ! Luv u ❤
And your readings clogs are the best ❤
the great alone is my FAV kristen hannah book + it’s more “romance-y” i think you’d LOVE that oneee
I'm so glad you enjoyed "Beartown". It's such a great book. I feel like if you really enjoy his writing in "Beartown" then you'll like "Anxious People" by him as well. The writing and the way he weaves characters is pretty similar.
My favorite historical fiction book EVER is the alice network, it is AMAZING I had to give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐FIVE STARS and if you would be interested in reading historical fiction this is suchhhh a good place to start!
If you liked the Nightingale, you need to read the Women by Kristin Hannah
