Lots of great books - I'm reordering and adding to my TBR.
I did read The Birthday Party because you were so taken by it. It was really good - the way the story unfolded was such a treat. I had to keep adjusting what I thought of the main characters. I keep thinking about it too. A sign of a very good book!
I’m so glad that you read The Birthday Party and that you liked it. It really does keep you thinking and re-thinking. I finished The Wren, The Wren and it’s definitely a five star read and kept me thinking and re-thinking! The magic of books! 📚 🪄 😊 🙏
Just subscribed, here in the U.S. I enjoy your commentary and the animals. Love anything Booker. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and commenting! The winner will be announced shortly, so exciting! Happy reading and cheers to the Booker! 🥂 📖 🙏
Just found your channel and really happy since we read a lot of the same books. I read Elena Knows in February and it quickly became a favorite for 2024. Loved her writing and would like to read more of her works. Elena Ferrante is a favorite author. I read The Lost Daughter last year and have read the Neopolitan series and enjoyed all of them. Will definitely be adding some of the books you discussed to my TBR.
Welcome and thank you! And thank you to two Elena’s! I love Ferrante’s writing, I have even read her non fiction and I have been to talks given by her translator. I was going that Dominick’s book made the shortlist (it’s rumoured he is her partner) just to see who he would bring to the ceremony (and I’m sure his book will be wonderful, just haven’t gotten to it yet). Happy reading and book prize time! 📚 🏆 😃
@@Thebookerharlot That is exciting! Can you share the name of her partner's book. I haven't heard of it and would love to check it out. Thanks!
His name is Domenico Starnone and he has written a great deal and is a well established Italian author. My first read of his will be The House on Via Gemito because it was long listed for this year’s International Booker. Happy reading! 📚 📖 😊
@@Thebookerharlot Thank you so much, I'm definitely going to check it out. Have a great week!
@@LitPages You too! 👏
Elena Knows!👏🏾 Little Luck is still on my shelf. 🙈
Hopefully, I will get to Little Luck after the prizes are over. It’s nice to know we probably have a great read on our TBR shelves! 🙏 📚
Thank you
Thank you for watching! Happy reading! 🙏 📕 😊
I believe (if I’m correct) that it was a 2 hour film, not a miniseries. Now I’m intrigued to know the difference between the book and the film since I loved the film! 😊
You are right! It was a film (and says so on the cover of the book 😆). Let me know if you read the last sentence of the book! 📚 🎥 🙏
@@Thebookerharlot Oh, I will! I’ve been meaning to read Ferrante for awhile now. I found the film so strange! I loved it, though.
The book is even better! Days of Abandonment is my favourite of hers. She is one of my favourite authors. I hope you enjoy them! 📖 📚 📕
I would subscribe MiNUS cat s.’ Sorry
Thanks for watching! Happy reading! 📚 🙏
I hated The Wren! Slow, convoluted and too much time spent on the daughter’s sex life which was boring.
It is a slowly paced book! My favourite from the Women’s Prize is In Defence of the Act and it didn’t make the short list! Happy reading and book prize season! 📚 🙏 😊
