Excellent!!! Yes, these two were both in your latest Blackadder reaction - Lord Flasheart and the German Baron von Richthoven! Their live "Bottom" shows were amazing too - some of those are available online. They regularly forgot their lines and just made it up as they went along. 😆
When Rik Mayall died, I started a group on facebook for Hammersmith council to give him a memorial bench, as a nod to the intro. We joined forces with another group that had the same idea and we managed it!
I visited that bench some years ago, when I was in London for a week, and paid tribute to Rik's memory. It's a beatiful homage, just a simple and humble place in the heart of London
3:42 “The snookers on”. It’s a pool/billiards like sport. 4:08 Suet is fat that comes from around animals organs. It’s used to make dumplings and steam puddings and such. RIP Rik. What an utter utter utter bastard.😂
A little over 20 years ago at high school (in The Netherlands) we used to watch this serie - and The Young Ones as well - with our English teacher during his lessons. Very fun memories! Years later I bought the DVD 😅
Oh hell yeah. Bottom is absolutely perfect for Americans to react to. It is utterly brilliant. Like Fawlty Towers it is short but every ep is pretty much great.
I think the green line was a bus service in London that put on services to more rural areas (I think). Also, they buses were painted green. Where the bus conductress/clippy (on board bus employee who collected the fares) sneezed on him, hence the joke "talk about the green line".
*Green Line* Buses for which the service is entirely within London are painted red. Those which serve London going to and from the surrounding counties (The Home Counties) are painted green, these services are collectively known as _The Green Line_ and are mainly used by commuters.
Yessssss was hoping this would make it, classic slapstick. Met rik around 2005 I think it was at his book signing - he was hilarious. He was awesome in The Newstatesman as Alan B’stard
I was in a pub in Canning Town once and as the barman asked me what I wanted I heard someone shout ‘Oi, you got served before me! You c*nt!’. Rik Mayall and I exchanged pleasantries for a minute or so before he took his drink back to his table whilst loudly proclaiming the whole pub to be full of ‘total and utter c*nts’. We miss Rik a lot
I didnt expect this in my sub box, this show holds a special place in my heart, my dad showed me this when i was younger, best way i can describe it is 'Looney Tunes violence in real life'
Oh, this is a good show! I actually re-watched it a couple of weeks ago for the - I don't even know how many - time. When you have seen the TV series, and you like it, you must give Bottom Live a go. They did five live tours after the TV show was over.
He IS lord Flasheard and many other different caracters. In the The Young Ones rhey are also great. Rik Mayall is the arrogant political poet and Lord Flasheard in the Blackadder series. Ade Edmonson is Vivian, psychopahtic metalhead student. Ade Edmonson also showed one the Blackadder series. In season 4 he is the german pilot who captures Blackadder and is so amused bij Brittish humor.
Excellent stuff...Bottom is legend!!! Their live shows are a must. Edit: suet is the fat from animal intestines. It is hard and white. Mmm...cooking oil...lubes on the way in and on the way out too!!!
Snooker, like Pool or Billiards. Vimto, British cordial drink, first named Vimtonic in the early 1900's (I think), invented in Blackburn, Lancashire, later became named Vimto
Suet: special kind of lard with a high melting point, made from kidney fat. Traditionally used to make thick pastry/batter for sweet & savoury boiled puddings, e.g. plum duff, spotted dick, steak & kidney pudding, Christmas pudding, jam roly-poly. Green line: colour-coded bus route. Swarfega: ancient and venerable brand of extremely strong industrial hand cleaner. Even shifts printer's ink. (you didn't ask about this one, but I thought I'd include it for completeness. Presumably the name means "eager to remove swarf," old-timey British brands loved cheesy names like that)
Britain absorbed many countries into it's Empire and India brought with it a great deal of flavours and spices. Curry is very nice, but we made the dish our own, re-invented it and called a Balti. You should try a Balti some time.
Anyone who thinks curry is over rated doesn't know proper curry. Because of imperial links and Britain having a large Anglo Indian population curry is now considered the national dish. Certainly the most popular. Fish and Chips, that Americans think is clichéd traditionally English has long since fallen from the top spot as both most popular takeaway and national dish. Curry has loads of varieties that you don't often find outside of India or Britain. I was in Aachen and Germany, went into an Indian restaurant, ordered, from the menu, a chicken Korma. Two ladies in the adjacent table said they had ordered the same thing. When the food came, it was a poorly prepared Jalfrezi (completely different dish). The two German ladies didn't know this was not what it purported to be. Continentals, like Americans, don't 'get' curry and haven't a clue. Being English and a curry connoisseur, did. I demaded to see the chef and demanded to know why they had sent jalfrezi when I ordered Korma (Korma is mild, yellow, made with coconut milk and pineapple. Jalfrezi is hot, red and rips your tongue off. Flavours, spices and colour all different). He couldn't answer my questions, he couldn't, though he tried, to explain himself, instead it was bullshit excuses and him still playing I'm Indian, my culture, I know. Not realising I'm British and I know too, as most Brits do.
Loaned my box-sets of Bottom & The Young Ones back in 2000 where they landed who knows. Yes it is Captain Flashheart and please review Kevin Turvey, The Young Ones, Comic Strip.. Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door or A Fistful of Traveller's Cheques... Rik & Ade at their best.
I've had curry in the USA, and I can see why you might think it's overrated. If you've had it here, you probably just had the wrong kind. It depends on which side of the spicy/tasty divide you fall. Hiding an unfinished pint of beer in an inside pocket was a useful skill in the days of pubs shutting at 11 pm, as some had bouncers who'd try to force you out, and wouldn't let you take drinks outside.
Curry is not overrated, either you,the chefs are doing something wrong or the US use different ingredients than the UK. try the mild chicken Korma...LUSH.
Two sad gits living together. Stick with it it gets better as it goes on. Got all these they are brilliant, the stage shows are wonderful too. Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayal (R.I.P) kings of slapstick. Vimto, friut drink Snooker, a game like pool. Suet is the raw, hard fat of beef, lamb or mutton found around the loins and kidneys. Used in meat or fruit puddings. Yes Rik was flashhart and Ade was the Red Baron.
Here is part 2 guys: ruclips.net/video/C7GuMDvblqU/видео.html
hope all of you are well 😊
It is Flashheart.
Excellent!!! Yes, these two were both in your latest Blackadder reaction - Lord Flasheart and the German Baron von Richthoven!
Their live "Bottom" shows were amazing too - some of those are available online. They regularly forgot their lines and just made it up as they went along. 😆

Thanks for that, I paid a visit to the bench a few years ago with my son, as we're both big fans of Rik and Ade.
I visited that bench some years ago, when I was in London for a week, and paid tribute to Rik's memory.
It's a beatiful homage, just a simple and humble place in the heart of London
Well done i live in Russia and am a huge fan of Rik we might have our differences but i think british humor is best in the world
A lovely tribute, thank you for all your efforts. A new London landmark and pilgrimage for every Bottom fan.
Chinchillaka!! Goodto see you!@@chinchillaka

RIP Rik. What an utter utter utter bastard.😂
Snooker - pool for people who can count.
Suet - fat from around the kidneys of animals.
Love the snooker definition!
Yes that is Flashheart - and coincidentally the other character played the German pilot/guard in the last Blackadder episode you watched.
Bottom is one of the funniest sitcoms ever made, absolutely hilarious 😂
Rik and Ade were comedy geniuses.
RIP Rick. No one tells a knob joke him anymore.
Bottom is great and gets better as the series goes on. The live shows are great too

The guy in the sex shop is Kevin McNally from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
When watching Bottom, there are 2 words: 1) think 2) QUICKLY !!!!!!!!

Wait until you see the second episode “gas”…
Vimto is a British berry soft drink.
As is _Tizer,_ important for later on.
5:23 too late mate sorry. mazola is corn oil iirc and the one you're thinking of might be olive oil that does that to your gut.
Oh hell yeah. Bottom is absolutely perfect for Americans to react to. It is utterly brilliant. Like Fawlty Towers it is short but every ep is pretty much great.

The Gasman episode is my favourite but they are all hilarious.
Same, love Mr Rottweiller. And when Richie punches the gasman 20 times, it still has me crying, even on the 1000th watch.
@@GlynnC-q2k "Why'd you keep hitting him with the frying pan?" "For fun" 🤣🤣🤣
@@SukiLondon "Bollocks mate, he was dead before he hit the ground. "
GAS MAN! GAS MAN! GAS MAN!
I miss Rik, The Lord Of Misule. Most underrated comedy actor #RIPLegend

13:17 'Can I help you sir?' 😂
Please continue, mindless violence at it's best.
Yessssss was hoping this would make it, classic slapstick. Met rik around 2005 I think it was at his book signing - he was hilarious. He was awesome in The Newstatesman as Alan B’stard
I’m so jealous 😭😭😭😭
The dude in the sex shop is jack sparrows second in command, the one they wake up sleeping with the pigs
Curries aren't overrated, you just haven't met the right one yet!
The best British comedy duo ever in possibly the best comedy show ever .. RIP Rik Mayall
I was in a pub in Canning Town once and as the barman asked me what I wanted I heard someone shout ‘Oi, you got served before me! You c*nt!’. Yes. Rick Mayall played Flashheart in Blackadder.
Favourite comedy show of the 90s 👍
Saying curry's overrated..... Someone's never had a good Indian curry 😁👌
4 men in a car...... It's the 2 plus 2 others from a show called the young ones. Very very funny and massively overlooked
Both of these were in one episode of blackadder goes forth. It's not snook It's snooker, a game like pool and yes It's flasheart woof woof!
Suet is beef or mutton fat. Lard is pork fat.
Yes, that is Rik Mayall who played Flashheart. Ade is married to Jennifer Saunders.
Ah yes! the English middle aged Beavis and Butthead
Green Line was an old long distance bus service
The 10 balls are for gripping... so I've heard! xD
Green Line is a bus service for the outer edges of London.
He IS lord Flasheard and many other different caracters. In the The Young Ones rhey are also great. Rik Mayall is the arrogant political poet and Lord Flasheard in the Blackadder series. I’ve done this show. And unlike some people I don’t deprive you from seeing the entire episode…. There’s no excuse for it.
You should watch the live stage version. Very funny.
Suet is dumpling used in stews, I. E. It's hard fat of beef and lamb etc..
Snooker, like Pool or Billiards.
Vimto, British cordial drink, first named Vimtonic in the early 1900's (I think), invented in Blackburn, Lancashire, later became named Vimto

#Snooker is a sport thats played across the world, and the world championships are held at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield
Snooker is a British version of Pool.
