This game could have been huge. It offers a unique mix of different mechanics, but sadly we’ll never get anything resembling diplomacy in the base game. Being able to forge temporary alliances both of a military and economic nature would have added a lot of missing depth.

Honestly, trying to make this game into Warband + Total War + Crusader Kings wouldn't actually be a PRACTICAL goal. These guys nailed 1000 men battles, everything else is window dressing on top of that. Its okay to go play other games, whether its something new like Manor Lords, or old ones like Civ
@@mortache If I’m a King or an Emperor then I should have ways to manipulate my enemies beyond just killing them. I’m not expecting the game to implement assassination plots, proxy wars, or the ability to have an affair with the buxom chambermaid that caught my eye, but I do expect at least a shred of diplomacy in a game with a section titled diplomacy and that ultimately revolves around kingdom management.
@@surlyunicorn9461 well counterpoint: you could be whacking them in thousand man battles. If you need something else, you can just play Crusader kings like I do??? Like honestly, anything other than battles will just make you *avoid* battles, and then what do you do? Play an extremely mediocre 4x game? Almost everything in the game focuses onto battles and sieges, including the main story which is just a tutorial for battles and clan management. I like my games more *focused* instead of having infinite features which are never any good.
Anyways, as an emperor you do have other clans working for you, compared to just your party in the beginning of the game.
@@mortache Just because I have a temporary treaty with the Battanians doesn’t mean I have one with the Sturgians or the Aserai etc etc. It means that I can strategically play the other powers against one another using diplomacy. It can possibly mitigate my losses as a fledgling kingdom when everyone decides to stomp on the new guy before he can gain a substantial foothold. It allows me more flexibility on the battlefield and adds another dimension of fun to my game.
Also to reiterate, I never said anything about infinite feature creep. No jousts, no arraigning marriages like it’s Game of Thrones, no establishing holy orders, no opening up my own cheese shop, no medieval life simulator. Diplomacy. That’s it.
10 months since update ? No wonder if havent played in awhile.
Bannerlord's biggest problem atm is everything has been done that could done. Unless you just really like roleplaying in your head there isn't much there in terms of replay ability. Everything there is to be done in this game has pretty much been done and there is a lets play about it somewhere on youtube.
The game has really become boring sad to say. I just attempted a new campaign here recently but I only played for an hour and just deleted the save. I just found myself doing the same things I've done hundreds of times before. It's such a shame too because Bannerlord had so much potential to really dethrone Total War.
They couldn’t care less, they don’t deserve the fan base they’ve got. No passion

A lot of the problems would have been fixed if they allowed modding to consoles
Such a same one of my favorite games to play just wish it had more depth diplomacy fix the economy armor smithing and let us on the water and ad some more factions
Banner lord is a super good gave, having played if for more than 700 hours in less than a year. I’m taking a break right now playing Manor lords and maybe a round of Europa Universalis 4 (over 4.000 hours in 10 years).
Unusual for a game dev not to constantly tease the new stuff.

Larian studios is best when it comes to communicate with players, i wish taleworlds become 10% of what Larian studios is.
Much though I love Taleworlds' games their communication with fans is horrendous. If they want to grow as a company and move onto bigger and better things then they really need to put a lot more effort into engaging with their fanbase.
There are so many really passionate Bannerlord fans out there because the game is so much fun and has the potential to be something truly special, but so many of them have become fed up and have given up on the game because of the developers stonewalling, which makes it seem like they just don't care, like they've got their sales of the game and have moved on. They can do better, and they should.

@MilkTankz maybe you are right but as a game in development for about 14 years, I guess everyone would have huge expectation.
This game just breaks my heart. Countless hours in warband that I loved, 1000+ hours in this game hoping for things to get fixed that just never did and never will. Even modders have given up on it. In the end, I think I would have been happier if it just never existed because I cannot bring myself to trust any game they release from this point on.
Modders are still going strong.
Also modders hate updates because of breaks the mods.
Big Updates that Take a while are better then Lots of small but fast updates

That is the 1 big problem, there truly is nothing like Bannerlord. You can search RUclips for games like Bannerlord to see if they are to your liking

I miss when we would get a forum post every Thursday. “It’s Thursday my guy *camel*” the community was eating up everything in the posts. Now we are lucky if they drop anything. Even a monthly new letter would be better than what they are doing. there are still so much promised content from the beta that they never fleshed out. It’ll be sad if they drop active support for the game
I know as of right now as I'm making this point we just got on Xbox the 1.2.10 update. Which makes me wonder if they're waiting to release the update when everybody is caught up and has it at the same time.

Hi flesson is there any way to sort pikemen into a separate infantry group? I want all the long pikes separate from the other shorter spears and polearms like billhooks or menavlions.
I dont think so, very few options. I think you can separate shield from non shielded infantry but not sure what would get pulled into each group
Honestly bro, with the game being mainly just a single player game, I really wish as a console player I could go and play the game when it first came out because the glitches and quirks first launch were so fun. I loved just being able to “break” the game by farming exp In bizzare ways and doing exploits. They want to patch everything fun about the game but dont want to add new content :/
You could just play on PC instead like God intended
Its really not a mainly sp game. You need to stop. The multiplayer is NOT an after thought, it is just as impressive and fleshed out and important, and likewise has a following just as big. Curb your bias.

Yeah. That's you. Exactly. There's a very much thriving community of multiplayer bannerlord, that you seem clearly to be ignorant of. Its scope is much wider than chivalry. It allows for actual battles, events, sieges and roleplay/persistent world servers and invasions etc. the likes of which no other game comes even close to providing.
Man theres so much in the game already BUT there is still so much they can do with it i hope an pray the devs keep working at this game its to good to jus stop updating

Also I'd love that the minor factions had up to tier 6 soldiers and also that they could take castles etc buold themselves up and become factions bevause otherwise they serve no purpose other than early mid game mercenaries and "different" soldiers

We just need calderia expanded, but as a tale world DLC i hate the parts of the map that they left so empty for no reason you could easily add like 8 more factions with 4 towns each in the empty parts of the map that you cant currently acess, it's kinda lazy on their behalf tbh
