It’s so wonderful to see how much respect the referees have and the players are never rude to them. So much football can learn from rugby. Great role model for children watching the game.
Thats because RFUs back referees and sanctions are in weeks not matches. Imagine a 3 week ban and 3 weeks loss of wages for a footballer, it would rapidly change the game
Teaching respect for the ref and the opposite players is one of the pillar of every rugby school across the globe. And we all can witness that it pays off so much
I just love the fact that you can hear what the refs are saying to the players as well as the TMO. I wish a lot of the US sports had that kind of transparency
Great video. I love both codes. Massive League and Union fan. It’s very refreshing to see the respect between players and refs in these codes. NFL is rotten to the core.
The important point is the respect shown both ways. The referee is in charge. They don't need to be demonstrative in their adjudicating penalties. Players understand excessive complaining isn't acceptable either. It's almost like they are all adults.
2;00, this emphasises the size difference at times between players and referee. But the utmost respect that is shown is the player saying 'thank you very much'. Would never happen in football.
You d'ont touch a referee. It's rugby. It is war on the ground, but you d'ont touch one referee. I played 15 years rugby. It is like this. "This is not soccer"
6:30 not sure how common this is, but placing an arm around a player seems like favoritism to me. The ref could have said this without the arm around Klerk.
Love Nigel Owens, but I was at that France-South Africa game in 2018, and him going up to Faf at 6:30 and holding him around the shoulders was such a bad look
The kid in the crowd shouting at the ref has obviously mistaken this for football😂

It is also because referees speaks only to the captain. He has then to speak whit the players.
The best sport in the world.
A 1.70 cm and 80 kg referee speaking to 2 m and 110 kg monsters.
And everybody has respect.

Don’t NFL refs literally say their determinations over a microphone?
@@stevenmcalister826 They don't talk through their process though - and they don't have any transparency on their version of TMO
Totally agree with you about being able to hear what the ref is saying
This is rugby.
Hate when announcers talk over the referee mic....

Being a young referee, this is great to watch😂👍🏻

Try the normal colon for a time stamp
Also I truly agree
2:00
Funny to see refs being sponsored by an eyewear company 😁
It just lines up the "should have gone to specsavers" shouts from the crowd
I’d love if football had these kind of audio-insights into the refs work!
Not if you heard what was being said to football referees.
@@geoffreyplow3811 I'd only see that as another reason for it!
Love the respect in both codes not like football, if rugby refs done football would end with 3 v3 amount of time they try to get others booked
I really want this kind of referees in football... (not US one)

8:03 what a game- Cracking
Some good preventative work
Been waiting for this
I just don’t get how Rugby referees can be so strong and Football referees are so weak at putting players in their place and making their point known.
Because Rugby is rough but with respect.
It's because the regulatory bodies enforce the respect and so do the players/teams. Football associations don't. It's ruining the sport.
Utterly wonderful sport.....please don’t let anyone spoil it.
Rugby fans spoil it on a regular basis unfortunately.
The bad standard of refereeing ruins it on a regular basis.
It doesn’t matter how long you are in the air if they tackle you there it’s a pen
I mean it does as if they hold you there then it's a pen to the other team
@@nathan_power9263 That’s true as well
Which was the decision...
Luke Gale - what a knob!
rugby refs to run the world..thankyou, back to your positions..
Imagine if Nigel was reffing the Brexit negotiations 🤣

That's typical Nigel Owens. Nothing in it.

9:00 does he say asshole?
Cause he is
Why don’t football player behave like rugby player
overinflated ego's and too much money is why
Faf de Klerk may be the the dirtiest, cheapest player in rugby.
Love listening to refs, here's a great insight into a video ref ruclips.net/video/H0na0ADI7Ik/видео.html
