Just a guess, but all the unseen details in the trophies (GCN model, Olimar's nose, Luigi's hair) are probably there because their trophies started out as their intended use (ie: GCN tech demo, Pikmin, and Luigi's Mansion), only edited to preserve on polygons. Olimar's nose sticks out to me, because that patch seems like it might be the anchor point for bouncing effects for his Pikmin animation move set. Back in the day, one of my friends pointed out that Jigglypuff's eyes are always open in its reflection (in Fountain of Dreams), even while it's sleeping. Man, It almost seems like yesterday when Shesez had around 25 - 75k. Now He's getting pretty close to 1 mill. Thanks for all the amazing content over the years!
The reason for the low poly models isn't to save on resources, in fact it uses MORE resources for the extra model and texture. They're used because they can be drawn faster to keep the frame rate high. Low poly models take up more memory because you need to have both of them loaded at all times to switch back and forth. They also need a new texture because the original won't map onto the low poly one correctly. For example, Mario's entire face with mustache could be one rectangle on a low poly texture, but the real model has the mustache texture and eye textures separated out in different parts of the texture to allow for more detail or reuse. Each polygon has to be transformed from 3d space into 2d screen space, and if it's within and facing the camera its pixels are drawn. Less polygons means this can be done faster and you can keep the frame rate up.
Hey shesez can you do a persona 4 golden video or persona 3 if possible It would be interesting to see how the ps2 and pc persona games handled out of bounds stuff

On Luigi's Hair: Given that Luigi's Mansion and Melee are both GameCube titles, they probably just took the real detailed luigi model for cutscenes and ported it. When Luigi first enters the mansion and gets scared by a ghost, his hat pops off to show his hair standing on end for a quick gag, and that's probably just still left in the model.
That drain in the Pokémon stadium level actually explains the glitch where you can sometimes fall through the level at that point of the map. That drain has cost a lot of people some wins in some tournaments back in the day lol
Wayforward once made a comment about how they got contacted for assets to use in Smash Ultimate (which ended up as a Spirit), so chances with the Luigi's Mansion model at 12:31, could actually be an asset from Luigi's Mansion, hence why the hat comes off (to be adjusted and used for animation from that game).
The low poly models of the characters are the same level of detail as the regular character models in the N64 Smash Bros. I want to play the whole game with those models now.
I know you're probably not being serious but the low-polys are definitely more detailed than 64 - but I do remember one time I realized that characters' shadows on Flat Zone (I don't remember if it was Flat Zone only or shadows in general, this was like a decade ago) actually had a lower-detail shape than the character's real silhouette and I started looking at those shadows and imagining how cool it would be to have Melee's roster in 64.
I didn't click on this video for so long, because I didn't know this was an episode of Boundary Break. Please don't go for more clickbaity titles, I really enjoy this content and don't want to miss out on it.
Idk why but I always find these types videos somewhat unsettling. It's just seeing these stages which seem so large to be a tiny spec in an endless void that really gets me Love the vids tho
14:15 I've saw that flower bed once after an epic trade that ended up on a double K.O. And me and my bro were like: "OMG! The full courtyard is there!"
@EncourageMint I'm way too curious to know the 'behind the scenes', how things work, or random fun finds out of bounds, so I pretty much suffer through the video. I'll try to watch what I can but end up looking away or closing my eyes a lot to just listen, pausing quite a bit to breathe through the tension, or just straight up stopping & coming back to it when I can. It's something I've lived with and dealt with for around 25 years (Super Mario 64 was my first realization I had a problem) and I love playing videogames but glitches are bound to happen sometimes, you know. It used to be such an immediate visceral reaction that I'd basically jump back and leave a room so fast, (basically teleporting in real life lol) but now it's a /slightly/ slower physical reaction that I only drop controllers but can stay seated for a time. And I'm better about knowing my limits when I can't just suffer through it (which can hurt quite a bit if I can't get my body to relax) and I have to walk away for awhile. Different breathing techniques help a lot. I don't know personally anyone else who has it and I've not bothered getting professional help so I don't know how severe of a case I am. Edit: fixed a typo
Whenever there's something like the logo thing at the beginning, i have to ask myself what it was like in the original game before localizers changed stuff. Would they have bothered to tweak a logo that you never see? Did they just go through the files and change everything with Dairantou Smash Bros DX written on it?

That drain in the Pokémon stadium level actually explains the glitch where you can sometimes fall through the level at that point of the map. That drain has cost a lot of people some wins in some tournaments back in the day lol
Wayforward once made a comment about how they got contacted for assets to use in Smash Ultimate (which ended up as a Spirit), so chances with the Luigi's Mansion model at 12:31, could actually be an asset from Luigi's Mansion, hence why the hat comes off (to be adjusted and used for animation from that game).
I remember when i was a kid i use to blow up all the racers in the F Zero stage. Nostalgia
According in Pokemon logic that's a donut, not a rice ball.
I played this game excessively back in the day and I never once noticed the level preview on the level select screen.
The Low poly characters looks like N64 models that got RTX on
The low poly models of the characters are the same level of detail as the regular character models in the N64 Smash Bros.
Melee always serves to leave me depressed at the lack of the adventure mode in later titles.
Brawl had the best story mode ever
Motor Racers 3 please that game is one of my favorite childhood games
I didn't click on this video for so long, because I didn't know this was an episode of Boundary Break. Please don't go for more clickbaity titles, I really enjoy this content and don't want to miss out on it.
The gray earth looks like HAL laboratory Kirby 64 Shiver Star. Me no like pandemic gaming convention party's. Naughty Shesez. Getting risky coins.
Uhhh Squirtle's model was ported from Pokemon Stadium
when you see a boundary break today after watching that playstation event you know its a good day
Idk why but I always find these types videos somewhat unsettling. It's just seeing these stages which seem so large to be a tiny spec in an endless void that really gets me
Love the vids tho
Okay, what is that music that plays at 16:13 for a few seconds. I am trying to figure out what song that is from and I can’t. It’s driving me crazy.
20:35 - That cartridge actually says Smash Bros. on it. (plus the kanji for "big" and something next to it I can't make out)
Hey Love you man. Keep up the Good work. Also can you please do a Crash Team Racing Boundary Break ? Thanks man.
6:22 why does the background look like windows XP?
8:30 BRO PEACH HAS A FACE ON THE BACK OF HER FACE THAT'S THE ENTIRE REASON DAISY TROPHY HAS AN EXTRA EYE ON THE BACK OF HER FACE
you seem to be unaware that alot of the low poly characters are reusuing their models from smash bros 64 just with scaled down melee textures
can you edit the watchdogs series in the next video
I can’t but my finger on why but that rest area, with the music and the fountain in the background, always makes me think of Forest 2 in PSO..
Is there a way to boundary break a VR game???
14:15 I've saw that flower bed once after an epic trade that ended up on a double K.O.
And me and my bro were like: "OMG! The full courtyard is there!"
Wait so which detail was finally found after 19 years I’m confused?
Sam's Choice low-poly Capt. Falcon will now haunt my dreams...
It's a special treat when you upload, but I don't know why I bother, these always trigger my verzephobia.
I j realised that's what I have wtf
May I ask how you cope and watch these sorts of videos? I find it fascinating.
Might be a search and replace type of thing
I’ve always wanted a remastered mario64 with the same art style as melee
It is the early 2000’s. You go to your friend’s house to watch Toonami on Cartoon Network and play Super Smash Bros Melee. Your life can’t get any better than this.
People are always nostalgic about the 80s and 90s but the early 2000s had a feel of its own. It was a better time than today for sure.
@@F_C... as someone who grew up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. It was quite a special time. With special mention to Toonami on Cartoon Network and the sixth generation of consoles with the PS2, Original XBOX, GameCube and Dreamcast. The sixth console generation is arguably the best console generation there is.
Great content, as always. I'm glad to see that you remade this episode, as I feel that you have dramatically improved your skills over the past five years.
Shesez... I Love you ❤️ 😍😍😍
Handsome baby 🔥🔥🔥
im saying this to any peeps announcing going to big get togethers like conventions, be EXTRA safe while out there. i still feel its too soon for stuff like this since there is still too much corona out there since so many people dont want to vaccinate to avoid dying+causing others to die.
stay safe everybody.
Boundary break?
You mean boundary *smash!*
Over 21 minutes to go over 1 detail….. yeah I’m good.
I would rather you take your time and make great content like this than rush out videos just to stick to a schedule! Keep doing what you are doing 👌
There's always comments like this, but the sad reality is that RUclipsrs aren't trying to do what we want, they're trying to do what gets them money out of it and will bow to the algorithm full-time. You can love your fans, appreciate them, all that stuff, and still be living by the algorithm hoping to get those extra dollars from making some internet videos at the expense of the videos themselves.
@@Falkuzrules Blame RUclips's algorithms and faulty AI that can take away the RUclipsrs' earnings on a whim if they don't like the content they put out.
