      Hi Ian, we have an update on the Lisboa Card here ruclips.net/video/mAOnlXe1iKs/видео.html The Lisboa Card grants that you will skip the ticket office line (with the exception of the Belem tower and the Castle where there is a special line for Lisboa Card holders). But if there are lines to enter the building, you will have to wait, in the same way those who prepaid tickets bought online will have to wait too.

    Hi Tony! We are in Porto, on our way to Lisbon today. We will buy the Lisboa card for myself and my wife (2 adult tickets) but not for our children. The reason is most of the attractions we plan to visit are free for children (e.g. Belem Tower and the Jeronimos monastery).
    My question is: with the Lisboa card I assume we do not have to line up to purchase tickets? What about for our children - they will not have a Lisboa card, so do they need to “purchase” entry passes for zero cost, in order to enter. If so, how do we do that? Thank you for your help!!!

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  4 месяца назад

      Hi Francis. In the case of free tickets for children, they may be issued when the kids are accompanied by a paying adult, you would need to read the requirements for each attraction. In that particular case, we would not advise you purchase the Lisboa Card and you would have to the ticket office queue in each of the attractions. All the best.

      The Viva Viagem (now called Navegante) provides transport. The Lisboa Card provides transport and free access to attractions. See our update here ruclips.net/video/mAOnlXe1iKs/видео.html

    Hi, Tony! I bought the card from the link you have posted. In the process of trying to change the 3-day card to 2-day, my reservation got cancelled :( I have tried sending them several messages in English to try to undo the cancellation or get a refund with the credit on the site so that I can buy the Lisboa Card again but did not receive a reply. What should I do? Can you help me please? :((

      Hello, Swavely. For us is nearly impossible to intervine in B2C transactions. But as far as we know, you cannot change the nature of the card you bought, don't know what you did but if you cancel your existing purchase, you must have received an email with instructions on how to proceed. Refunds are issued right away but your bank might take up to a week to process them.

    Hi Tony! I will be in Lisbon soon and I’m looking forward to it. May you clarify the difference between the Lisboa Card and the Viva Viagem? It is my understanding that the Viva Viagem credit may be reloaded at anytime. Where as the Lisboa Card cannot after the time period has expired. My second question is, does the Viva Viagem also come with the same perks as the Lisboa Card - Free/discounted attractions, etc? I don’t understand which is best?

      Hi there, check out our video on public transportation in Lisbon here: ruclips.net/video/tI0u1HtMccA/видео.html You will understand that Viva Viagem is just a holder for your transport tickets. The Lisboa Card is a combo of attraction pass and transport pass.

    I will give you more realistic calc. 1 day card costs 23 euro. Most people will use it to see Belem and Jeronimo (combined ticket 12 euro) and public transport (worth 6.8). So you use 18.8 euro and are still -4.2. So you need to see one more museum to get even. You will spend most of the day walking, so seeing 3 museums in 1 day is more than enough. That shows you you will get just even with 1 day card. So why to bother with it ? I get impression that card is over promoted ..

      If the maths don't work for you, by all means don't get the card. We have shown here how to make substantial savings. We'll be back in Lisbon shortly and will be getting another Lisbon Card to visit some of the places we haven't been to yet. For us, a splendid investment.

    I have two questions:
    Is it possible to purchase two Lisbon Cards at once for a six-day usage, intending to buy two passes per person on the first day?
    Do you need to reserve tickets online for the Lisbon Card attractions, and is there a risk of not getting tickets on the spot, leading to denial of entry?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Год назад +1

      Theoretically you could purchase as many Lisbon Cards as you one. The time they are valid for starts counting the first time you use them, not the moment you buy them. With the Lisbon Card you cannot reserve tickets online. You will not be denied entry into the attractions. With the Lisbon Card, and with one exception (Belém Tower) you don't need tickets to enter the attractions.

      @@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Hi there,
      Thank you for your response. I do have a few more questions:
      Regarding activities with discounts, such as Castelo de São Jorge (or is it just the church?), Sporting Museum, Pena Palace, and Moorish Castle, do we need to make reservations for these attractions?
      Is it true that the Lisbon Card allows free travel to Sintra?
      I've heard that the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga and the Benfica Stadium tour are not included in the Lisbon Card. Can you confirm this?
      Looking forward to your assistance. Thank you!

    😂 I am in 50 years long and economist professor at several schools in the Netherlands and with gift cards and travel cards that is mainly that it is a statistical nonsense to buy one because only 5% are put in action so these kind of businesses who give these cards away rely on the majority of a staggering 95% who wouldn’t use them with a public transport card like this and you’re just 12 or three Days there it could be somewhat high. Tony is very clear but also lives and knows there’s one probably very well and comes around very easily but as a tourist and you have the wrong way around the tram or bus down your loss of quite a lot of time we alter your plan during the day you won’t get them out of museums to get the card worth while. 😅 I am 60 and do everything very on ease with a lot of intermediaries just sitting and watching the people so for me I would suggest to take on the public transport card or when the one-way tickets are so cheap what I think it is are then just buy every time a new card or a little subscription with amount of money on it.
