Wohoo! Two videos in two hours, someone's on a roll! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I know it was an entirely different composer but I really missed this theme during Jodie's era. That musical continuity would've made a world of a difference imo
This one's used a lot less than I initially thought
My thoughts exactly.
Some are missing because they play twice in the same episode / story (for example World Enough / Doctor Falls have 4 variations and Utopia has like 10 000)
But it's still one of the least used recurring theme!
@@FrostyScarf yeah? I never mentioned that ep
This is arguably my favorite piece of music in any movie/show EVER. Gold's masterpiece imo.
Murray Gold is an absolute genius. There will never be a superior composer for Doctor Who.
My favorite use of this tune (not featured directly in the video) is from 10 or so minutes into World Enough and Time when the doctor is trying to convince Bill to play along with his test for Missy, and Bill prods him on what reasons he could have to believe Missy could be ‘good’.
And now it just got used in Space Babies. I’m so happy that Murray is back.
I loved when it was used in Wild Blue Yonder. I really missed Murray Gold’s themes after he left in 2017.
Awesome job as all ways. Nothing beats that Doctor Falls version though!
I’m partial to the war march in End of Time personally
This one and The Shepards Boy are my absolute favorite songs in Doctor Who. This song fills me with the mystery of Gallifrey. The 9th Doctor was my Doctor. So hearing This Is Gallifrey was always a gem.
My favourite use of this theme is probably The Time of The Doctor. I just love the scene where he's granted another 12 regenerations.
One of my favourite pieces Murray Gold has ever composed! It’s just so awe-inspiring and beautiful ❤
What about the one in The End of Time part 1 and World Enough and Time 😭
I think it would be better to do one per episode instead of one per story (since for S3 it was one per episode)
I hate that all the ones from The Day of the Doctor got cut.
The final edit of The Day of the Doctor is very disappointing - especially finding out Gold composed an appropriate score for the story that was being told only for it to swapped for generic Smith era music that had little relevance to the story arc that was set up in the RTD era
@@Doctor_What63 Agreed! I made a restoration of the score when I replaced the episode's OST with Gold's intended score if you're interested.
Really? @@Doctor_What63
@Doctor_What63 also agree, the final edit to dotd was a bit messy, quite a few obvious continuity errors. Clara with the bike in the TARDIS was one of the worst offenders, a year 11 GCSE media student wouldn't get away with making that error ffs 😂
It’s in case we do classic Who ones. One per episode becomes more gruelling in those instances due to the amount of parts per story. So sticking to the once per episode bar special cases just makes it a little easier. 😀
the more sombre versions really do pull at your heartstrings.
This theme reminds me a lot of the Domino Squad theme from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Just like that theme it only appears a handful of times, and only briefly, yet it leaves an impression every time.
Hope we here more of this tune now Murray is back
Such an iconic theme! Thanks for this! 😊😊
It's such a pretty song
For the appearance in The Stolen Earth is that not just All the Strange Strange Creatures slowed down?
It’s “A Pressing Need To Save The World” and it’s a variation of All The Strange Strange Creatures and This is Gallifrey, mixed in together at this part of the song.
I like that they brought it back for wild blue yonder, i think chibnal missed a few opportunities to use it though
The series 10 versions 👌🏻
Hate to be "that guy", but you missed a variation of This is Gallifrey when the 10th Doctor and Yana are discussing the rocket in Utopia.
As per disclaimer we are only using one instance per story 😊
I hope they find more ways to use this motif
I often wondered why the Doctor didn’t take the Master’s ring before cremating him
He's not a thief
Plot convenience 🤣
omfg my favorite
add Space Babies to the list!!
An updated version has been made 😁
@@CultOfThirteen I saw like right after I commented 🙈
I have no idea why, but 0:02 of 'Don't Worry' sounds a lot like 'This Is Gallifrey' in a different key and upbeat tempo.
Never understand why it wasn't played in Hell Bent
I really don't hear it in the Library episodes or the Stolen earth, isn't that "All The Strange Strange Kre at ture ores?"
It’s Pressing Need to Save the World. The main sound is a variation of All the Strange Strange Creatures and the underlying sound is a variation of This is Gallifrey. 😀
3:22 I can't hear it. Am I being dumb?
It’s the sound in the background rather than the main part. 😀
Isn’t it used in Gridlock too?
I thought it did, but it doesn’t apparently. 😀
gridlock, no? am i cappin?
I don’t believe it plays there. 😀
@@CultOfThirteen
I thought it played when the Doctor tells Martha about Gallifrey.
EDIT: Nope. It's not, it's the city singing.
you two are so right i didnt check i just remembered gallifreyish stuff happening and assumed
@@NintenRobI thought the exact same thing and was about to comment the same. Good catch on the rewatch
