It was a real (fake) language that was created by David J. Peterson for the Denis Villenueve movies. Google "Chakobsa Orthography" or David J. Peterson Chakobsa.
There is, you can literally learn it. The guy who made the language for the movie is named David J Peterson. Look up his name and Chakobsa and you'll eventually find it
Its mixtures of Hebrew, Arabic and swahili all mushed together, there may be more to it. They hired an actual linguist who did the GOT languages for it. Frank originally had its roots in primarily Arabic and Hebrew as far as I know
@@oroboros88 Yeah that's great and all. But the issue is with Timothee. His Chakobse is veeery pretentious and unnatural. It cringes me every time he speaks. He tries too hard and it takes away from the immersion. Take Javier, for comparison. He is great at Chakobsa.

He did not grow up speaking the language so he shouldn't sound like the natives. Doesn't that make sense? Also interestingly Javiar forgot his lines in the language the most. Because of his natural accent he was able to still sound natural. They corrected the lines in post production ADR.
The name of their main city in this film is in the Cossack language. Tabor Sich, Tabor means “Meeting” and Sich means “City” or “Home place.” Mahdi is Arabic, basically messiah
I couldn't help but notice the biblical implications in this movie, especially with the "Lady Jessica" character. She looks like a cross between "The Virgin Mary, and Mary of Magdalene. The other similarity that is hard to ignore is her Son, who is supposed to be "The Savior" of the fremen people on Aracas, aka "Dune." His character is a badly drafted and scripted and corrupted version of "Christ, the Savior." The similarities don't stop there. These are just the most obvious. The only difference is that "Jessica" is not a virgin and did NOT give birth to her son without his father. If you read the bible and compare it side by side to this story and look beneath the scripting as it was written, you will see direct similarities between this movie and the bible. "Chani" is "Mary of Magdalene," who loved christ and followed him to his death. But we don't know what became of her after his death because the bible did NOT tell her story. We don't know if christ took a lover, but there is speculation that he & Mary of Magdalene were in love. There were the pharasees and the sadducees who pursued and persecuted christ. the pharasees are the emperor and his followers/protectors the Sardukar, The sadducees are the harkonin warrior race that pursued and tried to kill the young savior "Paul Atreides." I am a bit of a historian and history buff. Moreover, I am a former seminarian and one who broke from his church, but not his faith. I know the bible and its stories within well enough to spot the similarities that this movie contains. Watch the movie, follow the story and compare it to the bible, especially in the chapters pertaining to christ. Change the names and look closely at the events in the movie and you will see how it closely reflects and crudely resembles the new testament of the bible.
Does the bible also make it clear from Jesus' actions not to follow charismatic leaders who corrupt faith to their own ends? Cos that's the key message of Dune that you'd have to find a parallel for in your holy book.
The Bene Gessarit are learned in all the religious lore of mankind and purposefully crafted many synthetic mythos that they knew would resonate with religious memory of people around the galaxy and grow into local cults to further their plans.
I mean the film is clearly about a religious figure using the faith of the people to fight against an empire that was invading their land for its nature resource, which was used to enable travel. (spice=oil) Not nessessarily the bible but yeah, some books that have the same Abrahamic root. I think you know what I mean?

Can anyone tell me why fremen words are so long? Like when Paul says "Bidjurat'ih biwadzamah?" Meaning "Do you smash a knife before battle?"
The one thing I really like about this adaptation is the cast of the Fremen not being " European" actors, So much better!
