I think it is best to lay a sheet of plastic down first and then the watch. Them start the tightening . I am no pro I watch that British watch makers channel a lot. And seen that is how he does it. I found the watch makers channel I was mentioning. "Richard Perrrett watch maker" Funny he released a video tonight that came up in Feed. Great watch Geek stuff
First time heard about bezel removal tool. Thumbs up for modding videos.
My man, appreciate that. I got some more how to lined up!
Thanks Pete! I really like these educational videos from you....
Thanks so much for sharing your story and knowledge. I am fixing to swap the bezel on my MKo 2 with the same tool and knowing how to properly clock it in the tool to miss the click springs. Thanks buddy now I won’t accidentally mess mine up.
Lol, that's about how I felt my first time as well!
@@ChillinwitWatches it’s so tight on these watches. I bought the tool so I could do this watch but I do a decent amount of watch work. I have a collection of 65 I have to keep running. I use to use a razor blade for watches with a smooth pressed bezel you can slowly work it with the blade but not like mako that’s one of the most difficult dive bezels I’ve seen.
Thanks so much for posting this! I've been wondering how well these tools work.
My pleasure, I was hoping there were some peeps curious about them! Glad it was useful.
Really great video. After easily popping a couple of bezels off with dull knives I stumbled across one that refused to cooperate. Regardless of the amount of force I used it remained on the $50 shitter watch. I seen a bezel removal press similar to yours on aliexpress and click click click it’s on the way. I was glad to find your video so I could see what was coming.
Maybe you can do a video of installing the nylon bezel gasket “hytrel ring” on the other bezel type. They’re troublesome and people are using fishing line in place of them after they damage theirs trying to re install their bezel’s
A very helpful video. Hope you're doing well Pete!
Great video, but I did buy the same tool and other than damaging my Seiko SRPD case, it didn't do much. The blades were 100% placed correctly as checked with my 4x and 7x loupe, but it just refused. The blades did not seem 100% level and the steel of the blades is too soft.
Thanks you for this video. It will help me a lot!
Thanks for the clear vid. Liked.
Appreciated!!!
Nice!!
Bought one of these but no luck on the first go. I wanted to put a new Chinese case through the ultrasonic cleaner,
thought it may prevent rust if I removed the bezel and dried after cleaning.
The bezel insert was marked by the silver wedges, only just but still left a mark.
The remover wouldn't remove the bezel, finally it bent the bezel. Prized it off with a driver but noticed the click spring was nothing like the one in the video. Mine was a "c" shaped wire and another wire to allow one way movement.
New to this so short on patience, and a bid heavy handed but I still don't think this tool would remove my bezel. Had a bad day.
Oh no, definitely works better on Seiko watches. A lot of lower priced watches have flimsy bezels that will bend easily.
8:59 Even if it doesn't allign you can rotate the bezel to make it alligned?
great video just subbed
Awesome thanks, glad to have you aboard!!!
I have been looking at getting one of these tools but was worried that the blades that pop the bezel might also scratch the case? Is there enough clearance that this is not an issue? Thanks for the video!
Hi sar how to order watch parts
*@Chillin' wit' Watches* this bezel remover looks like a very nice copy of the Horotec that costs about 500 euros.
one question - I noticed on one side of the case that after the bezel removal there was a scratch - why didn't you debur and polish the blades of the tool? the genuine one from Horotec has mirror polished blades so that when they poke between the case and the bezel, they won't leave any visible marks (mirror polish = almost no friction)
Good stuff man! Looks good. Do you have any advice for loosening up a super-tight, almost impossible to turn dive bezel? The watch came that way brand new about a year ago, has never even sniffed dirt or sand or anything. I didn't return it (in hindsight I should have) because I thought it would loosen up with use, but it never has. Nice $300 upgraded SKX clone (you can probably guess the brand, I didn't want to denigrate the company lol). I'm afraid to pop the bezel, as I've never done it before.
I was given a watch that the bezel that was seized due to grit/crap. I let it sit in water with dishsoap for a few hours then took an old toithbrush and scrubbed aroround botton of bezel....it worked.
I’ve bent enough bezels that this would be worth it...and that’s two to be exact...😉. I hate wrecking my stuff, so I’d probably get one of these.
I hear that, having to buy parts twice and wait for shipping sucks!
I bought this tool and still cannot remove the bezel off my Orient Ray. Did anyone else run into this problem?
I bought a new Orient Ray 2 and could not remove the bezel so i bought this tool from Amazon, but still no luck. The bezel is impossibly tight. Does any
Much improved Orient!
Does lubricant on the blades help?
I've never found it necessary
I have an older Casio (AD-520) with a rotating bezel that it is just too hard to grab on and turn.
I wonder if there generic replacement for all watches ?!
You could remove the Machine or movement of the watch first then use an ultrasonic cleaner to cleared out grimes inside the bezel
@@danieldeleon8474 thanks.
Does this works on gucci interchangeable watch too???
I'm not familiar with that watch...
Does it work with fixed bezels? Like a SARB smooth bezel to fluted bezel swap
I dunno. I think it would work, but not sure how cleanly, that gap is so tight! 😳
I haven’t tried yet but have seen identical machines removing Rolex fluted bezels. I’ll be checking in the next few weeks if it will do that style.
Bought a tool just like this after watching your video, and it tightens but does NOTHING. Obviously it works, you did it on camera, and I appreciate the video, but it did NOT work for me.
You sure the blades are going into the gap cleanly? What watch are you using it on?
@@ChillinwitWatches Hey Pete, thanks for getting back to me. You were totally correct, I didn't have the blades properly aligned. I got the bezel off with no problem once I calmed down and followed your advice. I feel especially stupid considering how you even made a point of saying how important it was to line the watch up properly with the tool. Thanks again. Keep up the good work.
Crap , it doesn’t work
that is the commonly used remover but often causes scratches to the watch... terrible tool
