  • Demonstration of how I remove the bezel. Any questions please ask. Sorry for the crappy camera position. That was the first time I tried to remove that bezel for this watch.

I was struggling to remove the bezel from my SKX007. There are a lot of videos that demonstrate the tools and techniques, but my bezel would not budge. The key to success is how to hold the case to be able to apply enough force to pop the bezel free. It might not seem like a big deal if your case can be removed easily, but the technique shown here worked on the first try for me. Many thanks for sharing!

Interesting Olly. I’ve seen a Hototec tool that winds 2 knives in under the bezel. Ever used it?

Not familiar with that tool, do you mean the Horia AMF2015, this new tool by horia is amazing. I don't have it but heard it is good.
Since I last did that video I think I have 3 more bezel removing tools. I really like the bergeon 7152 bezel remover. Alternatively there is chinese copy available that does a great job.

I chose one tool out of four and filed it down on both sides.I made sure it wasn’t sharpe just thin on both sides works great in SKX or any similar case.

      Great tip!
it's not uncommon to have to modify tools to fits perfectly

Hi mate, Yeah some of those watches can be stuck on really tight and there may be 'Gunk' underneath the bezel bonding with it and often need to have to be partially dismantled to be able to put the case with the bezel into a ultrasonic cleaner

a closer view would be preferable

This is a terrible way to remove a bezel. You have a very high probability of bending the inner rim inward. That is game over. Don’t do it the way shown in this video unless you are experienced with this method and have been satisfied with the results.

This video is made for the average punter who doesn't have the capacity or need to get more expensive tools. I do in fact agree that there is some degree of risk when removing the bezel and you have to be careful not to warp it when pulling it off.
I have a range of tools that I use to remove bezels and can certainly do a video on other tools. The problem being is that they can be cost prohibitive to some people so I didn't think to put them in this video.
If you have a preferred method or tool that you use to take them off, then I can certainly do a video on that, let me know.
      Thanks
