After spending hours trying to get back the internal Bluetooth on my hp pc which disappeared after a Windows update I decided to give up and invest in an external adaptor after watching this. Thanks for the tip Eric!
You're welcome! If possible, try to plug it into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port. There is less interference on a USB 2.0 port and it will help maintain a stronger connection.
You literally did nothing to review the actual product as far as power draw, range, lag, audio clarity or latency tests as far as using controllers, midi devices, etc. Anyone is capable of seeing up a desk and a Webcam, but somehow you made the top one of the most searched topics on the internet so you must be doing something right
I can confirm this works with the ps4 controller and DS4 Windows software. The game recognizes it as a wireless Xbox controller. Just plug the dongle, wait 10 seconds for the first time driver installation (windows does it by itself). Press and hold the Share and PS button at the same time, it starts blinking rapidly, now on windows go to settings, add a Bluetooth device, the controller will show up in the list of Bluetooth devices. You've now paired the controller to the dongle. Launch DS4 Windows and it will act as a Xbox controller making it compatible with most of the games.
No problem, thanks for watching! From what I have read from the manufacturer it can handle multiple bluetooth devices simultaneously but I'm not sure how many. I can confirm that I have mine paired with my bluetooth speaker, headphones, and mouse at the same time. However, I don't have experience connecting it with two PS4 controllers so I can't say for sure. But if they are bluetooth devices then I believe it should work as it can connect your computer to multiple devices from my experience.
It uses standard bluetooth protocol which has a typical range of 30 ft. However, from my experience it works best when kept within 10 ft and without any walls in between. I would also recommend plugging this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize the range and reduce latency.
What a useless video - not a single information that can't be found on the product page. I was going to dislike it, but I found out I already did it years ago. I am proud of my former self.
I have this. It's range is terrible but I plugged it into a 3ft usb cable and it increased the range substantially. It's like an antenna I guess. So try that if you're having problems.
wheelmanstan when u where having troubles with its range was it plugged into a USB 3.0 port if so you need it to be in a 2.0 port as 3.0 interferes with the signal the reason the USB cable extension works because it would convert to a 2.0 signal
What's the difference between 4.0 and 4.1? Also, does the bluetooth version of the adapter have to correspond with the version for the wireless headset? Thank you
4.1 should have slightly better connection and less battery drain on connected devices. And no the version of the adapter does not have to correspond with the version of the wireless headset but the bluetooth connection between two devices will only be as strong as the lower bluetooth version between the two.
I haven't personally tried an Xbox one controller with it myself but if you're Xbox one controller has bluetooth built in it should work. From what I found on their product page they say it is compatible with the Xbox One S controller.
I have a question, what if you wanted to send Bluetooth audio from phone to the computer. Would this device do that? Meaning, let's say if I have a recording music studio, would it be possible for one of my clients to connect via their IPhone or Android and connect via Bluetooth to the computer? So that they can play their audio on the big studio monitors?
Yes this is designed just for that. After you insert this adapter into your computer you will just have to go into your computer's bluetooth devices settings and pair your clients phone so it can connect and stream the audio to your monitors.. They do recommend inserting this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize the bluetooth range.
Use this link to walk you through set up, typically you're streaming music from a computer not to a computer when using Bluetooth, this will explain the best way to reverse that (for your needs), assuming that your phone doesn't automatically select your monitor/PC as a Bluetooth speaker per-say. Best of luck!! www.guidingtech.com/12120/stream-songs-phone-to-computer-bluetooth/
if I play music or use a wireless headset with mic is there a delay or is the sound quality affected in any way? It should sound just the same as if they were connected to my phone
In my experience there has only been a lag when I have moved my bluetooth device too far from the bluetooth dongle. As long as you are near the bluetooth dongle with no barriers in between there should be no delay. My other tip is, if possible, to plug this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port in order to maximize the bluetooth range.
but im using a pc and my pc doesnt have alot of usb pluggers i only have 2 for my mouse and keyboard and also btw my pc didnt come with adapter but what do you suggest me to do?
can I connect multiple bluetooth devices throught the same adapter? I want to connect my bluetooth speakers to my mini projector along with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Yes you can connect multiple bluetooth devices to it. I have my bluetooth speaker, bluetooth headphones, and mouse connected to it all at once. But I wouldn't recommend connecting multiple of the same type of bluetooth devices (like two bluetooth speakers for example), as it may cause some confusion.
Usually when you plug in this adapter for the first time a window will automatically pop up that takes you straight to the Bluetooth devices area where any nearby bluetooth devices that are turned on will appear. Here you will click "pair" with your desired device. But if for some reason it does not pop up, on Windows PC you just have to go to "settings" and then click on "devices." From there you will see a "bluetooth" tab. Once you click on the bluetooth tab you will be able to manage your bluetooth devices (aka pair and unpair). For quicker access, on many Windows computers there will also be a shortcut to the bluetooth devices area found in the bottom right corner near all your shortcut icons. I am sure on a Mac it will similarly be found in the settings area.
I would unpair the device from your PC, restart it, and then pair it again. I would also check to make sure you have the most up to date drivers of your dongle installed for your operating system. The latest drivers should install automatically when you first plug in the adapter but in case they didn't you can find the latest driver's to download on Plugable's website.
How it goes: You plug it in: On Windows XP/Vista ------7/8/10 1) It automatically finds an driver (might need to be connected to the internet idk) 2) You get a new Bluetooth icon in the tray and a new Settings Section 3) Pair whatever device you want On Mac 1) You don't need it, Macs already have BT built in On Ubuntu (and maybe some other distros) 1) You wait like 15 seconds and a new BT icon shows up 2) Pair whatever you want
Hi Immersive Tech, Can you help me pls. My Headphones are Bluetooth 4.2. If I buy a bluetooth adapter and install it on my desktop pc will I be able to connect the headphones to the pc?
Yes it can definitely handle multiple devices. I use it on to connect 3 to 4 devices at a time to my PC. However, I did read on their page that some users experienced issues connecting PS4 controllers with it because Sony used a special bluetooth protocol that wasn't compatible with this adapter.
According to the specs of the device its rated for up to 10 meters (approximately 32 feet). However, from my experience using it with my bluetooth speaker I would say after about 12-15 feet there starts to appear some distortion and eventually audio cut out. But then again after about 10 ft away from my computer is a doorway with a wall. So maybe it might extend a bit further if you have a larger space without a walls intruding. In the end, I would estimate 12-15 ft as a a safe bet.
I watched the review and really wish you had done a range test/wall passthrough signal strength test with a phone/number of devices test. Maybe compare max range connection with a game controller or speaker and the USB dongle to max range of a controller or speaker and phone bluetooth for contrast. I appreciate the product recommendation, but wish there was a little more info to back it up.
I bought that same dongle and it does not work. it did at first but there was this terrible skip/pause that was unbearable. I updated, restarted, I did everything to get it to work and it doesn't work. Now it won't connect. It doesn't say why, just won't connect. The dongle in the video is not plug and play. You have to install stuff hence the disk. Its awful and doesn't work.
I haven't personally tested it with a Dual shock 4 controller. According to their product page it is compatible with the new Xbox One S controller with built in bluetooth but there is no mention of it being compatible with the PS4 controller. I have read that some people had trouble connecting their Dual shock controller to this adapter. But others said they were able to connect it. So I would do some more research before you get it just to be sure.
I will order this u did a great job telling ur story about this item and u r english and i under stand every thing u said great job keep the good work up fr star in florida
I would say it depends on how many bluetooth devices you currently have connected to the dongle. To reduce latency I would also recommend removing any obstructions between the dongle and your controller as well as plugging the dongle into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port. I found that this helped reduce lag.
I have a cutting machine cameo 3 silhouette that’s Bluetooth, it says it needs a 4.0 Bluetooth in order to work...will this do the job for me as it needs to send cutting info from my program to the cutter?
Unfortunately I am not sure and I don't want to lead your wrong. From my experience this adapter is more designed for everyday bluetooth items like speakers, headphones, and mice. I imagine a cutting machine will need to very accurate and receive very precise information from the computer and I'm not sure if this adapter would meet those standards. So I would probably recommend doing a little more research to see if there is something more compatible with a high-precision device like that.
Yes this adapter is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. I've been using it on my PC with Windows 10 installed and it recognized it right away when I plugged it in.
does it work with all brands keyboards & headphones? i have a computer doesn't have blue tooth so i was thinking of buying this ... i have a keyboard blue tooth i want to use & a headphone i want to use both with blue tooth wondering can i use 2 device at the same time? how the battery life?
I can't guarantee it will work with every single device as some devices have different bluetooth protocols. But for the most part it should work with most bluetooth devices. You can definitely pair multiple devices to it at a time. For instance, I have mine paired to my mouse, speaker, and headphones at the same time. And as for the battery life there is no battery it is completely USB powered.
Do you know if these USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapters will work on those MacBook Pros (mid 2015) with the buggy internal Bluetooth modules? Wondering if this adapter will bypass the crummy internal module...
Posting back - ASUS Bluetooth USB for Mac works like a gem! I've got this plugged into a 4-port USB 3.0 HUB with power adapter into my MacBook Pro 15 at work. The nifty thing is I can power off and on the usb hub where the ASUS connects in order to get my external keyboard reconnected to my laptop. The key is to also run that command line (don't have the source line handy...) where it tells the MacBook to look for external bluetooth sources first before going to that crummy internal one. Feeling 😄🤘⭐️
Eric, a question please I would like to use this adapter or a similar one suitable for Australia to play movies etc over Bluetooth to my Xiaomi Mibox 3.0 android box attached to my TV ( JVC 55 in LED) or straight to the TV would this do the job ? computer is running windows 10 and is less than 10 feet from the TVIf not, what would you suggest would do the job? Thanks for any answersTony from Western Australia
Hey Tony, if you're TV or Android box already has Bluetooth built-in then a Bluetooth adapter like this would be a good option to connect to your computer. However, if you are looking to plug this into your TV then this would not be ideal, because this adapter is only designed for computers and laptops. If you do get a Bluetooth adapter for your computer I also suggest plugging it into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port because the 3.0 port can cause some interference with Bluetooth 👍
Yes, as long as the earbuds are bluetooth compatible they will connect. I use the adapter to connect my bluetooth headphones with a built in mic to my PC.
Hi I just bought a JETech M0884 Mouse with a bluetooth 3.0, will it work with a bluetooth 4.0? I’ll be using this for gaming and video editing. I’m ready to buy this plugable adapter but I need to know if it’s compatible. 😩
Yes I have Windows 10. Hmmm, I haven't tried that adapter. Do they have updated drivers for Windows 10? I would also check the manual that came with your iogear adapter to make sure it's Windows 10 compatible.
I would pair 2 or more in ear bluetooth monitors with my computer and control them via cubase (and maybe asio4all drivers) for launch some sequences. It is possible? Which devices I should use for no latency or noises?
This adapter is mainly designed for desktop computers and laptops so I can't say for sure. But if you're speakers have a USB port then there is a chance it could work 👍
Can you tell me what driver it uses for Windows 7. I have another cheap dongle DG40S that uses BlueSoleil. I had nothing but problems. It slowed my Lenovo W530 i7 with 16Gigs of ram to a crawl. It also caused my WiFi signal indicator in the bottom right hand corner of my trask bar to have a yellow mark in it indicating it was not connected to wifi but it was and worked.
Hi man, I just bought an xbox controller to play on my pc but unfortunately my pc does not have Bluetooth. What would you suggest me to buy to play with it on my pc?
Other users have said this adapter has worked with their bluetooth wireless xbox controller. So as long as your xbox controller has built in bluetooth this should work for you.
Can this work on my car stereo? I don't have aux or Bluetooth, i have a usb cable and i was wondering if this will work as a Bluetooth receiver for my car stereo...
Well I have read on their product page that it worked for some users with bluetooth devices that support 4.1. But according to the manufacturer they said it doesn't support 4.1. So I would suggest checking the manual on your headphones and seeing if they also are backwards-compatible in supporting bluetooth 4.0 since most bluetooth adapters are, at most, still 4.0. I imagine your headphones should also support 4.0 but I would check just to be sure.
Almost all Bluetooth 4.X (like 99%) devices are backwards compatible with previous Bluetooth versions down to the common denominator. Example, your headphones would connect over BT 4.0 with this dongle since that's the highest BT level that they share. Therefore, you don't get the advantages of BT4.1, only 4.0. Same goes if the PC had a BT 3.0 dongle. Your headphones would still (most likely, if they're made to comply with the BT Standard, ie not a cheap Chinese knockoff) connect and work, but over BT 3.0. You'd be missing out on the higher speeds and lower power consumption improvements of BT 4.0, 4.1, etc. Hope that helps! -TKB
If you're wireless mouse uses Bluetooth technology then yes this should work 👍 However, if your mouse does not use Bluetooth technology then this adapter will not work with it.
@@ImmersiveTechTV I think you need to pair it. At work we had Jabra Bluetooth headsets, they were paired to one dongle and one dongle only. Jabra provided a software to link the headset to a replacement dongle. Might need to pair your mouse to it
Yes you can use it to connect to your bluetooth mic/headphones. My suggestion is to insert the adapter into a USB 2.0 port over a USB 3.0 port if you can. For some reason a USB 2.0 port maximizes the bluetooth range.
Immersive Tech TV *I sorta already have one but it's one that is bundled with my logitech mouse... is it possible to just use that as bluetooth, since it uses bt to connect to the mouse???*
It would depend on the your adapter. Some of those logitech adapters may not work with other non-logitech devices. I would test it out with some other non-logitech devices to see if it connects with them.
1. Can I connect multiple devices and use all those devices *at the same time*? e.g. game controller+speaker+keyboard? 2. Will there be any delay/lag when using with the controller?
Yes, this adapter is rated to connect with up to 7 Bluetooth devices simultaneously. But from my experience keeping it under 4 works best 👍 As long as you stay relatively close to the adapter there shouldn't be any lag. If possible though, I recommend plugging it into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port, because the 3.0 port can cause some interference with Bluetooth.
I got an insignia Bluetooth adapter and the range is terrible I'm looking to use a PS4 controller at a distance of about 10 feet. How is this adapter at decent ranges???
Unfortunately my bluetooth headphones don't have a built in mic so I am not completely sure. I think it depends on the headphones themselves because I have read some reviews that it didn't work with some people's headphone mic and for others it did work.
how can i use my phone and the bleutooth stick togerther to stream music form my phone to my pc so i can listen to it over my pc speakers ? do you have a solution for this?
Do these USB Bluetooth dongles affect PC performance? The reason I ask is because I had one 7 or 8 years back (obviously an older revision of Bluetooth) but I remember whenever it was plugged in, my PC would be using about 60% CPU sat idle, I used to wonder why it was going so slow and it took me forever to realise that it was the Bluetooth dongle! When I unplugged it, my PC was back to normal.
Hmmm, that is a good question. As far as I can tell it hasn't affected my PC performance. To be fair, I always have my Bluetooth adapter connected, and my CPU often gets bogged down from having multiple programs open. But as soon as I close a few programs the performance returns to normal. So I suspect the Bluetooth adapter has never been the culprit.
As long as u have a new age computer that runs fine without it u should be fine but if it takes 5 min to just start up get a new computer a usb device should not effect performance
I have one of this dongles (another brand though) but when I try to pair my phone the pairing codes never coincide... any suggestions on what could be the problem/solution??
Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't experience that. Could it be that you have multiple of the same device trying to pair at the same time? Sometimes that causes a confusion. Other than that, I would try completely unpairing the two and and remove the phone from your saved devices. Then pair them again and see if it syncs.
Nope, it´s just the first time I try to pair my phone and it's not on my saved devices yet, also, no other phones around as far as I'm aware of, but thanks for your answer!!
I don't personally have the Bose QC35 headphones but as long as they are bluetooth they should work fine with this adapter. When you first plug it in the drivers for it should automatically install to your version of Windows. One tip I have if you're going to use a bluetooth adapter such as this one, is to plug it into a USB 2.0 port rather than a USB 3.0 port. While it still does work on a 3.0 port you can maximize its bluetooth range if inserted into a 2.0 port because there is less interference.
Does it allow to connect a... smartphone Bluetooth headset? -- (e.g. Jabra for one ear, not headphones) :) So... Can I both receive AND send audio, have a conversation on Skype etc.? Thanks!
I personally have only used it with bluetooth headphones as I don't have a bluetooth headset. But as long as the bluetooth headset uses standard bluetooth technology you should be fine. If you do plan to use a bluetooth dongle though I would recommend inserting it into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize its bluetooth range.
thus this dongle binds all the devicws that connects to it example i transfer the dongle to another laptop will all device automaricaly connect to it again
That is a good question. I am not completely sure, but I believe you will still have to repair your devices with a bluetooth dongle If you transfer it to another laptop.
I bought one and I'm confused about how it works with the Bluetooth that is already in my laptop. Does it override the regular Bluetooth once it's plugged in and work from the pluggable device only? I guess I'm asking if it can clash and be counteractive with the pluggable adaptor? Do I need to disable the original Bluetooth within my Laptop first in order to get the pluggable adaptor to work, as I can't get my Bluetooth devices to function in their specific programmes using the 4.0 Low Energy Pluggable device, and there just doesn't seem to be any information about the use of the device.
Yes I imagine you probably have to disable your laptop's bluetooth. But I'm not entirely sure if they clash because I use it on my desktop PC which has no bluetooth of its own.
In most cases just plugging it in should automatically install the appropriate driver for you. If for some reason it doesn't you can always install the driver that came with the included disk. If you run into any driver issues you can always check out Plugable's website and going to their "drivers" section. It's on the top of their website. Here you can find this adapter and see the different drivers available for it depending on your operating system (i.e. Windows 10, 8, etc. ).
No problem, thanks for watching. One bluetooth transmitter that I found is more designed for TV's is TaoTronics wireless portable bluetooth transmitter. I have never used it but it seems to have good reviews on Amazon.
hello I have a ibuypower pc and bought a vr set and I needed to Bluetooth the vr controller but nothing came up so I went to device manager and saw I didn't have Bluetooth so is this what I need to connect my vr controllers via Bluetooth. I didn't know some pc didn't came with Bluetooth very odd. please help my pc is ibuypower pc its i7core
Yea many desktop PC's don't come with built-in bluetooth. This adapter should be what you need. I got this adapter for a similar reason. When I got my Cyberpowerpc it also did not have built-in bluetooth. Since I got this adapter it has allowed me to connect my bluetooth devices to my PC.
Yes I use my bluetooth adapter on a Cyberpowerpc. If your bluetooth adapter is plugged into a USB 3.0 port I would try instead plugging it into a USB 2.0 port. Hopefully this helps.
Yeah, xd. A bluetooth radio is more complex than it seems, you have to know which drivers work with which operating systems, not only with Linux, OSX, even with different versions of Windows, which types of audio codecs go better, always referred to PCM, because the pairing is difficult in certain circumstances. It seems a little nonsense, but we are talking about radio.
i have a WIFI Smart Net and a a Wanscam IP Wireless/Wired Camera that I'm trying to connect to the internet. If i hard wire them, they connect. However, when I connect via wifi conection from the house internet or Hotspot via my cell phone they neither one will connect. Will this devise help me to connect my camers to the internet?
That I can't confirm. I am not too familiar with the Apple Airpods. If the Airpods utilize standard bluetooth technology then it should work. But if Apple uses a different type of bluetooth connection then it may not work.
Yes but it won't support aac or apt-x, the cheapies are cost cut of all advanced codecs. You want a taotronics receiver transmitter with stated support for said codecs, or something like a creative labs soundblasterx e5.
Fun Fact: A Nintendo Wii controller has bluetooth in it so if you have a Nintedo Wii game downloaded on your PC and want to play with a Wii remote you could if you used one of these Bluetooth dongles. :D
Yes there are. If you search on Amazon for a TV/home theater system bluetooth adapter you will find some. This one is only designed for computers and laptops.
It should be. As long as the switch joycons or pro controller use standard bluetooth it should be compatible. If you are going to use a bluetooth adapter with a controller I recommend plugging it into a USB 2.0 port to maximize the bluetooth range.
I don't have a Switch pro controller, but in theory it should connect. My only suggestion would be to plug this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize the range and reduce latency.
This adapter will have to be plugged into your laptop or computer. Then as long as your mini component has bluetooth connection on it you can stream music from your computer to your mini component. But it will not work plugged directly into your mini component.
Yes, this bluetooth dongle is rated to connect to up to 7 devices at once. However, from my testing, I wouldn't go beyond 4 at one time to maintain optimal connection 👍
i'm confused wether this will work for the purpose i want, I want to be able to use my display screen without having to connect it to my laptop via cables, if i plug this into my display screen would i be able to connect to the screen via bluetooth from my laptop? if no, do you know of anything that will allow me to do so? thanks :D
Sam Currie, I don't believe this bluetooth adapter will work for that purpose. If you don't want to use hdmi cables or a display port cable then maybe a wireless hdmi transmitter might be an option for you. Here's an example of one I found with good reviews: amzn.to/2gV6i5U But unfortunately, as you can see, wireless hdmi transmitter's are much more expensive than a standard hdmi cable so if you could opt for an hdmi cable it would be a much cheaper alternative.
Try looking at a Chromecast ($25-$35) or some sort of Miracast (anywhere from $20 to $50) adapter (or maybe even a Steam Link ($15 on sale sometimes, $50 regular)for streaming games) and just casting your screen over, but again, nothing compares to having it connected directly via cables.

Does it work with more than 1? Like 2-4? Or is that too much for it too handle?
@@aScrub I only have 1 controller, I've read somewhere it can handle 2
Any bad input lag? I been using InputMapper and the input lag is terrible at times.
Plugable makes great stuff. I bought about 20 Thin client stations for my office and they have been going for years!
I have this one and it can be paired with a couple devices at the same time. I would definitely recommend it.
It has definitely been reliable for my devices too. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
Trusting tech advice from a dude that refers to drivers as "drives" concerns me... There is quite a considerable difference between those two.
So will this connect my Xbox one controller to my pc???
Great Video... Do you know how many Blue tooth devices can be used a at the same time? example two PS4 controllers?
Thanks for the video!!
But if they are bluetooth devices then I believe it should work as it can connect your computer to multiple devices from my experience.
how far its range?? does its support Bluetooth headset with mic on pc while playing game? does it lag while playing games or watching movies
It uses standard bluetooth protocol which has a typical range of 30 ft. However, from my experience it works best when kept within 10 ft and without any walls in between. I would also recommend plugging this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize the range and reduce latency.

wheelmanstan when u where having troubles with its range was it plugged into a USB 3.0 port if so you need it to be in a 2.0 port as 3.0 interferes with the signal the reason the USB cable extension works because it would convert to a 2.0 signal
What's the difference between 4.0 and 4.1? Also, does the bluetooth version of the adapter have to correspond with the version for the wireless headset? Thank you
The price.
4.1 should have slightly better connection and less battery drain on connected devices. And no the version of the adapter does not have to correspond with the version of the wireless headset but the bluetooth connection between two devices will only be as strong as the lower bluetooth version between the two.

As long as you are near the bluetooth dongle with no barriers in between there should be no delay. My other tip is, if possible, to plug this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port in order to maximize the bluetooth range.
but im using a pc and my pc doesnt have alot of usb pluggers i only have 2 for my mouse and keyboard and also btw my pc didnt come with adapter but what do you suggest me to do?
buy a multi usb port.
can I connect multiple bluetooth devices throught the same adapter? I want to connect my bluetooth speakers to my mini projector along with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Yes you can connect multiple bluetooth devices to it. I have my bluetooth speaker, bluetooth headphones, and mouse connected to it all at once. But I wouldn't recommend connecting multiple of the same type of bluetooth devices (like two bluetooth speakers for example), as it may cause some confusion.
Got it. Thanks!
so, when you plug it in, how does the actual pairing process go? do you have to open any program? and click pair .. or?
Usually when you plug in this adapter for the first time a window will automatically pop up that takes you straight to the Bluetooth devices area where any nearby bluetooth devices that are turned on will appear. Here you will click "pair" with your desired device. But if for some reason it does not pop up, on Windows PC you just have to go to "settings" and then click on "devices."
From there you will see a "bluetooth" tab.
Immersive Tech TV what if I turn on my bluetooth headset and it doesnt show on the bluetooth devices thingy?
I would unpair the device from your PC, restart it, and then pair it again. I would also check to make sure you have the most up to date drivers of your dongle installed for your operating system. The latest drivers should install automatically when you first plug in the adapter but in case they didn't you can find the latest driver's to download on Plugable's website.
How it goes:
You plug it in:
On Windows XP/Vista ------7/8/10
1) It automatically finds an driver (might need to be connected to the internet idk)
2) You get a new Bluetooth icon in the tray and a new Settings Section
3) Pair whatever device you want
On Mac
1) You don't need it, Macs already have BT built in
On Ubuntu (and maybe some other distros)
1) You wait like 15 seconds and a new BT icon shows up
2) Pair whatever you want
Can this be plugged into an external hub or does it have to be plugged into the computer itself?
I plug mine into an external usb hub at the moment but I've also plugged it into my PC itself. It works either way.
So when the adapter installs bluetooth onto your computer, can you unplug it or does it have to stay plugged in?
The adapter will have to stay plugged in for your computer to have bluetooth connection.
Immersive Tech TV ill just plug it in to the back of my pc then
Hi Immersive Tech, Can you help me pls. My Headphones are Bluetooth 4.2. If I buy a bluetooth adapter and install it on my desktop pc will I be able to connect the headphones to the pc?
Yes
Perfect description & explicit & to the point! Awesome! Thank you!
Can it handle multiple devices? I'm trying to connect two PS4 controllers on my pc.
Yes it can definitely handle multiple devices. I use it on to connect 3 to 4 devices at a time to my PC. However, I did read on their page that some users experienced issues connecting PS4 controllers with it because Sony used a special bluetooth protocol that wasn't compatible with this adapter.
So how far is the range for it? if you were to move you speakers like 10 feet away would the audio cut out?
According to the specs of the device its rated for up to 10 meters (approximately 32 feet). However, from my experience using it with my bluetooth speaker I would say after about 12-15 feet there starts to appear some distortion and eventually audio cut out. But then again after about 10 ft away from my computer is a doorway with a wall. So maybe it might extend a bit further if you have a larger space without a walls intruding. In the end, I would estimate 12-15 ft as a a safe bet.
Immersive Tech TV i got mine yesterday for 10€ and the range for it is 15 meters
Sweet well my computer to my couch is only 10 feet away so that should work thanks for the help!
Thanks for the feedback man. I'll keep that in mind for future videos on similar devices.
I'm always looking for good tech reviews. Subbed and staying tuned!
How much input lag will there be for a Dualshock 4 controller? I'm thinking of using this for my PC.
So I would do some more research before you get it just to be sure.
is the delay different from normal bluetooth?
I will order this u did a great job telling ur story about this item and u r english and i under stand every thing u said great job keep the good work up fr star in florida
Thanks, I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Does it create any latency when playing games?
I would say it depends on how many bluetooth devices you currently have connected to the dongle. To reduce latency I would also recommend removing any obstructions between the dongle and your controller as well as plugging the dongle into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port. I found that this helped reduce lag.
Immersive Tech TV thanks
Lazy "review." Some tests would have been nice. Sound quality, range, etc.
Will this work on a laptop with windows 10 installed? Thanks
Yes this adapter is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. I've been using it on my PC with Windows 10 installed and it recognized it right away when I plugged it in.
Can I Use This One In Desktop For Earphone Bluetooth ? Thx!!!
Yes it is designed to make a desktop PC or laptop compatible with bluetooth headphones, speakers, and other bluetooth devices.
does it work with all brands keyboards & headphones?
i have a computer doesn't have blue tooth so i was thinking of buying this ...
i have a keyboard blue tooth i want to use & a headphone i want to use both with blue tooth wondering
can i use 2 device at the same time?
how the battery life?
I can't guarantee it will work with every single device as some devices have different bluetooth protocols. But for the most part it should work with most bluetooth devices. You can definitely pair multiple devices to it at a time. For instance, I have mine paired to my mouse, speaker, and headphones at the same time. And as for the battery life there is no battery it is completely USB powered.
The 4.0 dongle random question can you plug it in to a car USB and use the dongle to play music through the car??? ??
No sorry this dongle is designed to be used with computers and laptops. It most likely won't be compatible with your car USB.
Do you know if these USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapters will work on those MacBook Pros (mid 2015) with the buggy internal Bluetooth modules? Wondering if this adapter will bypass the crummy internal module...
I'm sorry but this adapter is not compatible with Mac OS. It's only compatible with Windows and Linux computers.
Feeling 😄🤘⭐️
how many things u can connect can u connect 3 things at once?
According to the manufacturer you can connect up to 7 devices at once but I don't recommend going over 3 for the best performance.
@@ImmersiveTechTV thx
For me in poland this 10 bucks is like 40 so this is where better product shelf starts. I was kinda looking for something cheap haha.
Can it connect to bluetooth earbuds with builtin mic for skype?
Yes, as long as the earbuds are bluetooth compatible they will connect. I use the adapter to connect my bluetooth headphones with a built in mic to my PC.
Thank you
if i move 5 meters away from my pc, is my headset still connected or is the connection broken?
Hi I just bought a JETech M0884 Mouse with a bluetooth 3.0, will it work with a bluetooth 4.0? I’ll be using this for gaming and video editing. I’m ready to buy this plugable adapter but I need to know if it’s compatible. 😩
Yes according to the manufacturer this adapter is fully compatible with earlier versions of Bluetooth, including 2.0 and 3.0.
Immersive Tech TV 😱 big thanks for the reply! Great informative vids! Subbed! 👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I got the iogear bluetooth adapor to use with my Bose QC35 and it kept crashing my Win10 PC even after updating the drivers. Are you using Windows 10?
Yes I have Windows 10. Hmmm, I haven't tried that adapter. Do they have updated drivers for Windows 10? I would also check the manual that came with your iogear adapter to make sure it's Windows 10 compatible.
I would pair 2 or more in ear bluetooth monitors with my computer and control them via cubase (and maybe asio4all drivers) for launch some sequences. It is possible? Which devices I should use for no latency or noises?
So, this will the esperanza bluetooth usb 2.0 dongle work with the xbox one s controller?
I have a speaker system for my TV. Can i plug this into the speakers USB spot to make the head phones work on the TV ?
This adapter is mainly designed for desktop computers and laptops so I can't say for sure. But if you're speakers have a USB port then there is a chance it could work 👍
Would this work for a chromebook laptop as well?
Unfortunately it will not work with chromebooks as it is only designed to be compatible with computers running on either Windows or Linux.
Get off Windows 7
Hi man, I just bought an xbox controller to play on my pc but unfortunately my pc does not have Bluetooth. What would you suggest me to buy to play with it on my pc?
Other users have said this adapter has worked with their bluetooth wireless xbox controller. So as long as your xbox controller has built in bluetooth this should work for you.
Can this work on my car stereo? I don't have aux or Bluetooth, i have a usb cable and i was wondering if this will work as a Bluetooth receiver for my car stereo...
Unfortunately it won't work in cars. It is only designed to work with computers and laptops.
I have bluedio turbine t2 headphones it says it supports bluetooth 4.1 will it work with this dongle?
Well I have read on their product page that it worked for some users with bluetooth devices that support 4.1. But according to the manufacturer they said it doesn't support 4.1. So I would suggest checking the manual on your headphones and seeing if they also are backwards-compatible in supporting bluetooth 4.0 since most bluetooth adapters are, at most, still 4.0. I imagine your headphones should also support 4.0 but I would check just to be sure.
oh thanks! but sadly i threw the manual away :/
-TKB
Thank you. Helpful, informative.
No problem. Thanks I appreciate it!
Hi, Nice Review..
I lost my Miniso wireless mouse USB Dongle.., Can i connect the mouse using this plugable USB dongle ?
If you're wireless mouse uses Bluetooth technology then yes this should work 👍 However, if your mouse does not use Bluetooth technology then this adapter will not work with it.
@@ImmersiveTechTV I think you need to pair it. At work we had Jabra Bluetooth headsets, they were paired to one dongle and one dongle only. Jabra provided a software to link the headset to a replacement dongle. Might need to pair your mouse to it
Can I use this to connect my bluetooth mic/headphones so I can talk and listen in skype or zoom conferences?
Yes you can use it to connect to your bluetooth mic/headphones. My suggestion is to insert the adapter into a USB 2.0 port over a USB 3.0 port if you can. For some reason a USB 2.0 port maximizes the bluetooth range.
Immersive Tech TV
*I sorta already have one but it's one that is bundled with my logitech mouse... is it possible to just use that as bluetooth, since it uses bt to connect to the mouse???*
It would depend on the your adapter. Some of those logitech adapters may not work with other non-logitech devices. I would test it out with some other non-logitech devices to see if it connects with them.
Doesnt seem to work with Non logitech stuff.
Oh well, thanks for the help! :P
Is an Insignia Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter the same?
please help me, I need help.
I haven't used that one myself but yes it seems similar enough.
Thank you! Now, I am reassured.
Will this support Headphones that use Bluetooth 5.0. For example, Sony WH-1000XM3?
No
Wow....
@@ImmersiveTechTV thank you so much for your response!
I got an insignia Bluetooth adapter and the range is terrible I'm looking to use a PS4 controller at a distance of about 10 feet. How is this adapter at decent ranges???
same case here, bud. if you find a solution, please reply to this comment.
@@zachbradford815 I'll let you know what I find! Feel like the factory Sony dongle is best but it's so expensive...
Thanks, will this work to connect headphones for both voice and audio or can it just handle audio.
If I bought this, could I connect my BOSE QC35's to my PC and use the inbuilt mic to talk to friends?
I don't personally have the Bose QC35 headphones but as long as they are bluetooth they should work fine with this adapter. When you first plug it in the drivers for it should automatically install to your version of Windows. One tip I have if you're going to use a bluetooth adapter such as this one, is to plug it into a USB 2.0 port rather than a USB 3.0 port. While it still does work on a 3.0 port you can maximize its bluetooth range if inserted into a 2.0 port because there is less interference.
Adam any luck with this? Also how do you rate the QC35's thinking of picking up a pair myself!
Does it allow to connect a... smartphone Bluetooth headset? -- (e.g. Jabra for one ear, not headphones)
:)
So...
I am not completely sure, but I believe you will still have to repair your devices with a bluetooth dongle If you transfer it to another laptop.
will it work through a usb hub with other devices?
Yes it will. I actually have been using mine for over a year now plugged into a 7 port USB hub with other devices connected to the hub.
Will this work if i use it to connect my bluetooth earphones to my windows 7 desktop?
Yes it should work. It is compatible with Windows 7 computers.
I was stunned when I found my pc nor my linux machines had no bluetooth capabilities. Does this get firmware updates?
how to install its driver or should i try direct plugging in
In most cases just plugging it in should automatically install the appropriate driver for you. If for some reason it doesn't you can always install the driver that came with the included disk. If you run into any driver issues you can always check out Plugable's website and going to their "drivers" section. It's on the top of their website. Here you can find this adapter and see the different drivers available for it depending on your operating system (i.e. Windows 10, 8, etc. ).
Thanks for the video , what device makes my TV 📺 Bluetooth, so I can used my wireless headphones 🎧, thanks I'm advance
No problem, thanks for watching. One bluetooth transmitter that I found is more designed for TV's is TaoTronics wireless portable bluetooth transmitter. I have never used it but it seems to have good reviews on Amazon.
Hello. I want to use it to connect it to my TV so later I could use a keyboard on it. Can I do that. My smart TV runs Android base software.
hello I have a ibuypower pc and bought a vr set and I needed to Bluetooth the vr controller but nothing came up so I went to device manager and saw I didn't have Bluetooth so is this what I need to connect my vr controllers via Bluetooth.
Great video!!! short and to the point.
Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful 👍
Do you have a cyber power pc? Because I have issues connecting the surface keyboard to mine
Yes I use my bluetooth adapter on a Cyberpowerpc. If your bluetooth adapter is plugged into a USB 3.0 port I would try instead plugging it into a USB 2.0 port. Hopefully this helps.
I’ve tried both ports still won’t work
can Bluetooth play music in home theatre via PC?????plz answer
This adapter is designed to be used with computers and laptops. It likely won't be compatible with home theater equipment.
you should try to give some info. saying "it does its job" doesn't help
So a bluetooth adapter used for controllers would connect 1 or multiple controllers?
Does it work with Apple Airpods on windows 10 desktop?
That's awesome, I didn't know that about the Wii controllers. Good tip!
CarnivorousCashew does this work for joycons
Joycons?
Check out Dolphin Emulator for Wii games on PC... It can pair with Wii remotes automatically through BT with a dongle like this
I'm buying now at amazon :D
Awesome, enjoy it!
Is there a device to make your tv bluetooth so I can use my bluetooth earbuds
Yes there are. If you search on Amazon for a TV/home theater system bluetooth adapter you will find some. This one is only designed for computers and laptops.
Is it comparable with the Nintendo switch joycons or pro controller
compatable*
It should be. As long as the switch joycons or pro controller use standard bluetooth it should be compatible. If you are going to use a bluetooth adapter with a controller I recommend plugging it into a USB 2.0 port to maximize the bluetooth range.
alright, thanks.
Will I be able to connect my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to my pc via bluetooth with this? Will there be a lot of latency?
I don't have a Switch pro controller, but in theory it should connect. My only suggestion would be to plug this adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize the range and reduce latency.
@@ImmersiveTechTV I did not know that, thank you very much for the information!
will this work if the pc doesnt have bluetooth as its a custom build
Yes it will work with custom build PC's as long as it runs on Windows or Linux. It is not compatible with Macs.
Can you listen to music with this device connected to a mini component?
This adapter will have to be plugged into your laptop or computer. Then as long as your mini component has bluetooth connection on it you can stream music from your computer to your mini component. But it will not work plugged directly into your mini component.
Would I be able to use it in a car stereo?
I don't believe so. It is only designed to be compatible with computers and laptops.
Will this work in the Honda Civic usb dongle for music
It likely won't work in cars. It is only designed for laptops and computers.
Can you have multiple devices connected to a USB bluetooth dongle at once ?
Yes, this bluetooth dongle is rated to connect to up to 7 devices at once. However, from my testing, I wouldn't go beyond 4 at one time to maintain optimal connection 👍
i'm confused wether this will work for the purpose i want, I want to be able to use my display screen without having to connect it to my laptop via cables, if i plug this into my display screen would i be able to connect to the screen via bluetooth from my laptop? if no, do you know of anything that will allow me to do so?
thanks :D
Just the screen? Like a monitor? If it's just the screen, i highly doubt it'll have bluetooth on it.
Sam Currie, I don't believe this bluetooth adapter will work for that purpose. If you don't want to use hdmi cables or a display port cable then maybe a wireless hdmi transmitter might be an option for you. Here's an example of one I found with good reviews: amzn.to/2gV6i5U But unfortunately, as you can see, wireless hdmi transmitter's are much more expensive than a standard hdmi cable so if you could opt for an hdmi cable it would be a much cheaper alternative.
thanks i'll have a look!
