Thanks for the informative video! Just to ask, have you repasted and are you using a cooling pad? Also, has the charger stopped working at any point since you bought the laptop?
@@kio4830 Damn, it sucks to hear that you'd lose your warranty. I asked the store that I ordered the laptop from, if I'd lose the warranty if the laptop gets opened so I can put LM paste on it and they said it won't. At least it's comforting to hear that there are no charger issues, since a lot of people were complaining about it initially, that it was just cutting off and they needed to buy bigger chargers. I'm assuming some recent BIOS update fixed the issue. Thank you for answering!
@@Kongren94 I hope they will do something with the temperature limit/or something in the bios update, About the warranty im from poland, and the shop tell me, ye u can open, but later when i ask again they said, no u cant lol , but im not sure the repaste help a lot. But overal for the price and ofc this is mobile im happy about the performence the frame generation carry that ,and the price is really cheap. But i hope the video atm will help ppl who get the gigabyte too ^^
@@kio4830 Alright, after having bought the laptop and playing around with it, here's what I found out and if you'd like, you can reduce your CPU temp quite significantly without affecting your performance. First of all, it turns out the person that I contacted through email in the store mislead me and you do in fact lose your warranty if you open the laptop. That was kind of a bummer since I don't want the lose the warranty and liquid metal would have reduced the temps by at least 5C degrees. Anyway, with stock settings the CPU while gaming would constantly reach 100 degrees and thermal throttle, as shown in this video as well. Unfortunately, 12th gen laptop CPUs can't be undervolted and it's BIOS locked, but there are still a few tricks you can do. Feel free to try them out if you're interested, since I don't believe it's a good idea for the CPU to be in thermal throttling range constantly for long periods of time and the made changes got my max CPU package temps down to 88 degrees, while not seeing any FPS difference or stuttering, including in CPU demanding games like Warzone. 1. Download Throttlestop. 2. Unlock turbo ratios and I recommend watching the video "How to undervolt any laptop with a locked bios" from the channel "Laptop Tweaking Tips", it's explained perfectly how to do it (read the comment section for 12th gen CPU specifically). 3. After having unlocked turbo ratios, in Throttlestop go to FIVR and set all turbo ratios to 38. This will reduce the maximum clock from 4.2 GHz to 3.8 when turbo mode kicks in. 4. In the TPL menu remove the checkark from MMIO, Disable Controls, Sync MMIO, both Clamps and Lock. In the whole Power Limit Control section have checkmarks placed only on Long Power PL1 and PL2. Set PL1 to 45 and PL2 to 55. 5. In the main menu of Throttlestop I've only placed a checkmark on Speed Shift EPP since the other options aren't necessary. Note: If you don't want to go through all the trouble, you can just disable turbo mode and do nothing else, which is going to give you about 75 maximum CPU temp. But this way your max clock is going to be only 2.5 GHz and this will have a noticeable impact on your performance, so I don't recommend just straight out disabling it.
Hi, man! Thanks for the info! But what about CPU undervolting? Is it possible? Since i see that temps at CPU are 90+ which on long term is concerning to be honest... I know this laptop specifically has high temps and im looking for solutions on every plan.
Hey the cpu undervolting , is not possible. Ofc u can Install some bios mod/ or like that thingś. But mostly time you will lose warranty.I have big temps cpu, but not fps drops for me, if u want u can always use the intel program of oc, and reduce the mhz on turbo, etc.(U can set bigger power limit at cpu.
Change the thermal paste and set all fans to max. The cooling solution is connected to both cpu and gpu, so the gpu fans also help cool the cpu. I don't recommend getting a modded bios as it can also brick your laptop. Plus anything above 12th gen intel is physically impossible to undervolt now because of the different architecture. (P-cores and E-cores)
great vid btw u deserve more subs, anyway looking to get this laptop, will this laptop get loud enough to cause a distubance in a quiet room when doing simple tasks such as having around 20+ tabs on Chrome open?
Hey man, I think I am going to vuy this Laptop, do you think repasting its Thermal Paste and a Cooling Pad would help with the temps, without undervolting?
i have the 3060 version and like my mhz is 900 only it doesnt go over that and its 86 degrees idk why and i have problem the other people dont for example my friend with 2060 can play vr and i cant i literally dont know why my fps is so bad in vr

I have reinstalled windows and no blue screens anymore. Probably some bad uodate or something. I have checked for stop codes that are shown with blue screen and most of them are about some files missing. So reinstalling windows might help as it helped me. Even temps and fan speeds are better now. Before when i set to performance in Control center it would go to max fan speed and high temperatures even when i do nothing, but now fan speed and temperatures rise only when more demanding app is open. So for me it was some problem with some updates or something.

How bout the cpu temperature just ordered a i5 12500h and 4060, i bought the gigabyte g5 KF cause its the cheapest 4060 laptop out there
The temperatures about 85-95
Is this the rtx 4060 version? If so would you say its worth it?
Yes really worth, with game who have frame generations. mostly all new games.
is 90+ cpu okay?
Yes
All temperatures is fine , when they didnt get the 100 celsius limit becouse then u get limit and lower mhz.
No it's not ok at all
Anything above 90 will cause the CPU to throttle and lose performance. 90C will also lower CPU lifespan
