He is going to feel that in the morning!
I remember how shocked I was when I first saw this the night it aired. It was and still is hilarious.
I remember this. This was my first introduction to SNL. that and “incredibly gay duo” sketches. My mind as a kid only understood certain jokes. The rest went over my head. Plus I still had a learning curve of learning a new language like English.
I couldn't stop laughing for days after it aired. One of the funniest skits ever shown on SNL!
I saw this when it aired live and I remembered I laughed my ass off. Good times!
@@justicegear85 " that and “incredibly gay duo” sketches."
Ambiguously gay duo. :-)
7/19/24 10:56 p.m.
I wasn't shocked, this was typical humor for the time.
I like how confused he looks. More frustrated than horrified.
good point
Haha he’s more concerned with not lifting the weights lol
Phil will always be a legend
always
Agreed. So much talent
In the Pantheon of Greats. Poor children will never grow up with dad and mom.
I am sure he is making Heaven fill up with laughter!!!
This was my SNL. Awesome.
Mine too. At least once and episode during those years I would literally be on the floor laughing.
'Some kind of fish paralyzer', haha.
Whoever the writer or writers that came up with the idea for this skit did a great job
"That's gonna be disappointing.. " 😅
This caught me off guard when I was a kid, seeing it live. Took me a second to start laughing!
I love that they brought him a blanket
when SNL was good
it was funny
So true
The original cast was better than any other time.
@@michaelflynn1136 are you sure, some of those episodes were rough.
@@natwolf687 Rough how?
Watching all of these classic SNL clips with Phil is quite haunting yet oddly comforting nowadays ❤
I love how his trainer just dabs his massive injury like it was a small cut.
But why did you ruin the joke with showing the ending in the beginning????
its what the kids call looping
@@wearebobsproduct I get that, but this does not explain why was it better to ruin the joke in the beginning...
i dont habe an answer for that to make you watch it on a loop
@@wearebobsproduct this is a stupid answer and why the kids these days don't understand comedy
Because the attention span of kids is so short that they won’t sit through a 1 minute video to wait for the punchline.
I remember watching this in the 90s live. When SNL was good.
I do too i was 5 mommy was a little concerned i think it was off to bed
I remember when Darvon was a thing. Lol
"that'll triple the current world record" 🤣
and now somebody's making this a real thing
Can't wait to see the video of this!!!
That man was a treasure.
And Jack Handy saves the day!
he usually did
@abundantYOUniverse That's not Jack Handy. That's A Whitney Brown.
I love the roar of the audience!! LOL!!!!
“And some sort of fish paralyzer”
😂I remember watching this when it 1st aired!! It's funnier now!? What a trip!?
This actually makes sense. Imagine boosting your muscles to an absurd degree but your poor tendons get no help. You'd tear yourself apart.
You know? As a teenager when this first aired, I remember thinking it was done just a random occurrence to shock the audience who were not thinking about that happening and that hid had nothing to do with the drug rules. But, now I realize what they were really saying. The steroid use was what caused it.
It's been a looooooong time since SNL was funny.
its got its moments now days
@@wearebobsproduct Turning it off is usually the best moment.
That's very monty python. "He's pulled his arms off!!"
This skit was the first thing I thought about when I read that people were seriously trying to start an "All Drug Olympics"
When SNL was funny, and not apologetic for it…
would they apologize for this today
Soooo fricken good love it this is the reason I think the tour de France should be like this
agree
Aquanov 😂😂😂
Classic!!
😂 loved this years ago
and now how do you feel
I remember this when it first aired, back when SNL was good.
Is that Bob Odenkirk handing Phil the towel?
This is suddenly relevant
wait long enough everything happens
Now that's an athletic way to make spaghetti!
They were ao ahead of their time! To think that Enhanced Games is now being considered, it's like this video just predicted what will happen 20+ years after it was originally aired.
I miss Phil
If David Cronenberg was producer at SNL... 😅
😂😂😂😂😂 video gold.
Former US Senator Al Franken and Tom Davis wrote this one
Well, would be best Name for the real Olympics😂
I love it!
The good Ole days when funny was allowed 🤭
I would love to see that😂
Shiiiiiit, i remember Darvon.... Hehehehe, anyway, Phil Hartman was among the best of 'em. I'm currently watching all the News Radio episodes again. He did the BEST character on that show....
Kevin Nealon would be in Colombia wouldn’t he!
Funnily enough there’s a real all drug Olympics that Peter thiel is trying to set up
That pretty much says it all for the corruption
Love the crappy nonsequitor editing. Always show the punchline first
kids call it looping
@@wearebobsproduct Are you a kid? No? Then maybe don't try to act like one. Unless you are trying to attract kids to your channel... Creep!!!
Does anyone remember the skit 'Tales of the Runaway Boulder'?
Yup, when SNL was great
Showing previews in RUclips Shorts.
Again, thats, showing...PREVIEWS...in RUclips...SHORTS.
I agree ?
It's from 1988 not the 90s.
This was 80s.
Oh look.
Actual comedy.
🤣👍🏽
The agony of de arms.
they predicted it what
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don’t tell me that’s not better than cgi.
All drugs olimpics in Bogotá Colombia, and as always the USA team wins all. FU!
That's gotta be disappointing for the big Russian!
Lol this is burned into my brain, haven't seen it in like 15 years probably
same even tho i had not seen in years i had always thought about it anytime steroids got brought up
@@wearebobsproduct lol yeah same! Buddy of mine was just talking about how it would kill his arms hauling buckets of gravel into his basement for a project and my mind went immediately to this.
LMFAO
Who remembers what Phil Hartman did
i remember a lot of what he did but i think you are saying something pacific
He was on The Simpsons and successfully caught at least one lethal bullet. It was a tragedy how successfully he caught it.
Back when SNL was still funny, and not garbage...
To bad everyone on Facebook is copying the fad now of showing a quick preview of a later scene, it ruins the whole joke.
Why would you put the punch line to the clip at the beginning? Totally spoiled it for me. Like honestly, fuck you for doing that.
😂
You edited it wrong, the video begins halfway through the skit and then suddenly goes back to the beginning. You really screwed it up, did you not check before publishing it?
@@Elriuhilu I didn’t even realize that ditch ass thanks for letting me know
🤣😂🤣😂
I'm open to an all drug Olympic.
You really shouldn't have let your cat edit this
What was the F big Russian about in the video?
Because Phil Hartman was the big Russian just a joke
@@wearebobsproduct I wasn’t kicking off, just asking. These days questions seem to be forbidden 🤣
Thank you
80s
Who wrote Phil Hartman as the Russian weightlifter?
Especially when there was already a Chris Farley available?
Bonus: he's already high. So, it's not like the character would be too much of a.........*ahem*
Stretch
One of the best jokes ever , but with horrible delivery
This is not tiktok
You kind of need the few seconds before this clip. You press play and it immediately happens, not to mention it's all you see in the thumbnail. Kind of takes away from joke. If this were the first time I've seen it, it would make it much less funny to me.
Some duct [gaffa] tape will get him ready for rd 2. If it's legal of course in the all drugs olympics. I heard he went clean after this though, the disappointment of his coming off was to much for him.
See this is funny SNL
1988
close enough thats 90s
How does this differ from the current Olympics?
Oh, wait. No drag queens.
Phil died 💀 after this seen?
Hanz and Franz did it better....😅
Way to blow it by showing the arms coming off in the first couple of seconds and then putting your stupid text over the top of the video.
Yes. Show the punchline first and ruin the joke. Bravo!!!
Wacko lol
Im a straight heterosexual male and I love phil hartman. That man is my hero. His voice could melt butter right out of the freezer
If you would’ve just said that, dude, could melt butter in the freezer I wouldn’t of thought about your sexuality at all you’re a man’s man
Troy McClure can do anything he wanted to
To me, he'll always be Captain Carl from Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Lawrence Fishburne was Cowboy Curtis. The music sucked, but '80s TV ruled.
Now Google what Phil Hartman did to his family.. let's see if ya feel the same
@smokeyriver7757 "he removed their children from the household to stay with friends or family because of her drug- and alcohol-fueled outbursts."?
That's all I could find
Crappy editing
First the punchline, then the set-up 🤦♂️
It’s what the kids called looping Boomer
@@wearebobsproduct Nope. Fucking up the delivery of ancient jokes is something senile old codgers are famous for, Goober 😆

RIP snl
its been going for almost 50 years must be the death rattle
It just fake
😅😅😅😅snl was great back then
...before SNL went WOKE. What a difference!
Тупой американский юмор, ничего удивительного!
This shit is not good snl. Ain't been funny since Belushi
Imagine how many snowflakes this would outrage nowadays eh?
hoping it is today
Back when Saturday night live was funny
This is when SNL was comedy and not political theater spreading propaganda BS.
