Viy is a Soviet film, but it was based on the story of the Ukrainian writer Mykola Gogol "Viy" from the collection "Myrhorod" of 1835. The stories in this collection are based on Ukrainian folklore.
In the Netherlands we have an horror movie named “Sint” it is about the Dutch Santa “Sinterklaas” as a murderous bishop who kidnaps and murders children when there is an full moon on December 5th.
Feng Shui is a nice movie and all but if some of you is looking for a nice Filipino film that is really based on the culture of the Philippines, as Feng Shui is based on Binondo Manila(Chinese to be exact).I would suggest watching Smaller and Smaller Circles, its not necessarily a horror film but what makes it scary is how relatable and accurate it is especially if you are living in the poverty line or a third-world country, alot of political and religious points to be seen. You can actually watch it here on youtube, someone uploaded the whole film, and its also on netflix. Happy watching🥰
Another brazilian horror movie: the good manners released in 2017, it tells the story of a caretaker whos hired to take care of a pregnant rich woman but discovers there is something odd about the pregnancy
I'm from Indonesia. Actually "Satan's Slaves" or "Pengabdi Setan" is released in the 80s (if I'm not mistaken it was released in 1980). Whereas in the 2017 version it is a remake of this movie
5:59 As Australian but I'll try to be careful what book I'm reading, especially in the library. I watched movies like Train to Busan and the conjuring and for me, it was very scary. I'm pretty sure evil spirits won't exist in real life.
As an Indonesian, I dont even watch Satan's Slave or we called it Pengabdi Setan. The most scary horror movie for me is Kuntilanak trilogy, the story is about a girl named Samantha who can summon woman ghost named Kuntilanak (believe me I've ever hear her sound and even meet her).
Tummbad is not necessarily a horror movie. But its a great cinematic experience. I am from south of India and the first Hindi movie I watched after a long period was this one. Interesting part is that the movie was made under a very small budget of INR 5 crore which is around 1/10th the budget of average Hindi movie.
The creature-antagonist in Feng Shui is called Lotus Feet. Actually it is about a result of a Chinese tradition (also called 'lily feet') of foot binding which is later banned.
As an indonesian, i can confirm that satan's slave is one of the best horror movies in indonesia created by joko anwar. It called 'Pengabdi Setan' in here. I personally like it bcs the plot is interesting. I highly recommend this, and u can watch his other movies too like 'Perempuan Tanah Jahanam', or 'Pintu Terlarang'
Korea, I've seen more terrifying movie than train to Busan, but it depends on what's frightening you more, a ghost stories or a living dead monsters. And for Thai horror, couldn't agree more The Shutter with their legendary ending scene

I was thinking the same thing. Greedy enough to risk life is one thing but can greed really push someone to take THAT risk? i was blown away by that movie.
Here in Italy, deep red (profondo rosso) is considered a cult of the horror cinema
Wow tumbbad was a really great horrer movie 🤩🇮🇳
What about Kanchana🤣
@Air India 787 yes bro but 3🤣
@@sachetghale1253 kanchana is cringe as fuck
Hastur did make the family rich but the consequences only came when they get too greedy

6:32 At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul is so dope good, Zé do Caixão é um gênio.
5:21, as a Filipino, I confirmed that it is one of our national horror films.
why is there a chinese name
it scared me for life (currently is)
Out of everything I watched, dabbe is definitely relasticly scary and Conjuring is your average American family story but with a great director.
I watched the conjuring 1 and 2 and the nun really good movie, I appreciate the content, mixed up with slight quality. But actually high quality. With highlights, that are epic. And the storyline, is well done. Useful for some competition’s.
I was expecting a manananggal for the Filipino film. When I was a kid, manananggal and other Filipino mythological creatures were the frequent enemies in horror films and the manananggal was the scariest one.
Tumbbad is never before ever after
Completely different from any other horror film
Outstanding cinematography , great characterization and absolutely amazing story
But still no other film can beat train to busan
@@aksvty7164 is it necessary to be said?

As a Malaysian, Munafik is a go to movie if you want a really good scare. But if you want a slow building story and nerve-racking plot. I recommend watching Roh
For the philippines, i'd pick the movie series called "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" as the most popular horror movie.
I've watched most of those films in that list: Some are ok, some are good, but "Dabbe" and "Inside" take the trophy of "very disturbing films".
I’m telling you, dabbe is so damn terrifying
Yup
I find them hilarious
Edit: not in a bad way
I rember i couldn't sleep alone like a week after watching that movie
it's funny seeing other people from around the world calling turkish movies terrifying while i find them cliche and ridiculous, a perk of being turkish i guess
@@sky-om5lm damn this sound very armenian to me. are you?
Finally anyone chooses Tumbaad
The film is masterpiece
It scares me 😭
You should have included Brotherhood of The Wolf from France about a giant wolf killing and eating people & The Devil's Backbone from Spain, one of the scariest movie I've ever watched!
Satan's Slave is really scary. They will release the sequel this year. The poster and teaser already out for Indonesian premiere.
sinetron pengabdi setan ya ?

Tumbbad is a masterpiece. Love from Nepal.
Tbh Great Philippine Horror Movie is very rare nowadays since many directors cram it with comedy or just plain cash grab
What about eerie? Or clarita? .are we really gonna forget about these underrated modern Pinoy films for likes?
@@arichan7599 that's why I said it's very rare
Yeah. I miss old Philippine horror movies like Shake Rattle And Roll
As a Pakistani I saw the movie Lakshmi it, s a really good movie love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️🇮🇳
I m not from south India but i suggest u to watch kanchana it's original and lakshmi was remake of it and Kanchana was far better them lakshmi.😊
@@sunriseorsunsetitsallabout187 I agree
I love how you often make videos about all around the world❤❤
Video suggestion: sci-fi movies from different countries.
If you would like to, please do "Animaded movies from diffrent countries".
Toy Story - U.S.A.
Chicken Run - U.K.
Masameer The Movie - Saudi Arabia
Pocoyo & The Space Circus - Spain
Papelucho and the alien - Chile
Really enjoyed that , definly do more on movies like comedy, true stories, romantic, Christmas , Fantasy and more.
If you'll ever do a part 2, then either "Medium" (1985) or "Wilkołak" (2019) would be great entries for Poland.
Plus A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night or Under the Shadow for Iran

5:36 The Indonesian title for this movie is called "Pengabdi Setan", and it reaches millions of views months after the movie was released, so many views that they decided to premiere it overseas
I like quite a few of these horror films I’ve watched an Indian one and it really terrified me plus after a film I can have phobias and fears of new things especially when I’m about to go to sleep I knew I shouldn’t have watched the film at night. The Pakistani and Malaysian one might be the ones I’ll consider since their from fellow Muslim nations Zibakhana and Munafik interests me since their Muslim films so good job Pakistan and Malaysia for interesting me
You are wrong
Only Turkish movie and drama is good.........if you prefer muslim country
Lmao
I am Malaysian.. I will say that the Turkish has superior horror movie.. Malaysia one is kinda meh..
@@shirokun4742 he's not wrong, it's religion based horror, although turkish still might be the top
The first Serbian horror film is called Leptirica and it was made in 1973.

*Pengabdi Setan 😈* from *Indonesia 🇮🇩* Directed by *Joko Anwar* . 👍👍

Thanks for including "Train to Busan"! Only Zombie movie I'll ever watch!
For those who were wondering
Munafiq also has a meanning that is"hypocrite"
But in the Malay version
(Thx for putting Malaysia in)
The Philippine one is based on chinese traditions. Ever since I saw that movie I got scared of Feng shui 🙄
The most scary horror movie for me is Kuntilanak trilogy, the story is about a girl named Samantha who can summon woman ghost named Kuntilanak (believe me I've ever hear her sound and even meet her).
damn, that scary
Setuju gue, sampe sekarang kuntilanak trilogy emang nomor 1
Pocong movies Are trash
What do you mean by your last statement?
Kuntilanak are trash
Tummbad is not necessarily a horror movie. But its a great cinematic experience. I am from south of India and the first Hindi movie I watched after a long period was this one. Interesting part is that the movie was made under a very small budget of INR 5 crore which is around 1/10th the budget of average Hindi movie.
*This will make my nightmare more scarier*
Its a honour to see my country here :)
Who else thought they were all looking at you?
I am so glad you included Terrified from my country :)
The creature-antagonist in Feng Shui is called Lotus Feet. Actually it is about a result of a Chinese tradition (also called 'lily feet') of foot binding which is later banned.
Malaysia 🇲🇾
I didn't know that Nosferatu came from Germany!
IT was filmed in Slovakia
Me neither
As a Filipino, I can confirm that Feng Shui is the best horror movie I watched.
About Mexico, you can look for Carlos Enrique Taboada's "Más negro que la noche" (1975). Taboada is a prolific Mexican terror movie director
As an Indonesian, I approved Satan's Slave is the most horror Indonesian movies.
Im italian but deep red si very very creepy if your not italian you need to see the movie
Korea, I've seen more terrifying movie than train to Busan, but it depends on what's frightening you more, a ghost stories or a living dead monsters.
And for Thai horror, couldn't agree more The Shutter with their legendary ending scene
