I don't have a crock pot, but do have an Instant Pot and it has babyback ribs in it now cooking and will braise it in the oven for 7 minutes after it come out of the pot. They will be fall off the bone delicious even with the bones being tender. I put my sauce on the meat before broiling them in the oven and they are the most delicious afterwards. Your pulled pork came out perfectly and looked so tender too.
Trying this right now...not only do I like the recipe, I appreciate the little helpful hints like using aluminum foil---I never would have even thought about that. Thanks!!
This is the first video I have seen from your channel and you’ve got yourself a new subscriber. Very informative and fun video, and you seem like a genuinely good dude. Keep on cooking and go Saints!
I was searching for crockpot pulled pork recipes and ran across both yours and checked out your channel. All I can say is, man, I wish you lived next door to me. Looks great. I'll be trying some of your stuff. Thanks Daryl.
Thanks for the recipe. I'm learning to do the pork shoulder myself in the Crock-pot. My Crock-pot is an older model that we've had for over a decade and it doesn't have the latches to hold the cover down. I looked into it bc I didn't want to use a inferior Crock-pot, and what I learned is that the latches weren't for cooking, but just for keeping the lid in place when transporting. I also learned that the Crock-pot does need to vent somewhat, and that quite a few reviewers on Amazon were upset because their glass lids shattered. So I concluded that their glass lids may have shattered bc maybe they used the clamps for the lid while cooking, and even though there is a vent, maybe it doesn't vent fast enough when it's going full steam. Been using this Crock-pot without the clamps for cooking now and then, for over a decade, never travel with it so I've never missed the clamps. Just looking for anybodies thoughts on this.
This is a great way to cook pulled pork without having to babysit a grill or smoker. Put it in the crockpot before bedtime and it will be ready to shred in the morning. I always put mine in fat side up without trimming. Fat cap melts away and keeps the meat moist. Love your videos. No doubt that you love cooking and you have some skills. Going to try the pressure cooker version next.
I THOUGHT THIS WAS DONE WELL! I AM A BIG FAN OF CROCK POT COOKIN'! I WILL DEFINITELY TRY THIS WITH MY HUBBY'S HOME MADE RUB! THANX FOR THE VIDEO! YUR NEIGHBOR UP NORTH IN AR.!
I so enjoyed watching you. Great video. I am going to try your method with no liquids. It's a science and you explain it so well. You are a keeper for sure.
Thinking of cooking pulled pork this weekend for memorial day. It seems with this recipe the meat was a little tougher to pull apart so I'll be using your previous recipe. Thank you so much.
Hello my new favorite chef! I made my first crock pot pulled pork just like you showed on your video and I wish I could show you pictures because it was picture perfect (at 10 hrs). Thank you. Thank you!
Great video! I recommend wrap in two layers of foil, wrap in a towel and into a cooler for two hours before shredding........falls right apart after that.
@@lisareaume3857 I believe the comment was referring to wrapping it after the cook, so that would help the juices redistribute before shredding. It's a thing I do after smoking meat.
Awesome, been smoking shoulders/butts all my life, cant anymore, with this video i rubbed a picnic shoulder (after trimming) with little liquid smoke then my rub, followed video and 👍🏆, tyvm P.S, i didn't have rack ir balls lol.

Mr. Bad beast. Big fan, love your videos and your style. I do gotta say I liked the old intro so much more though! Maybe you could bring it back sometime. Anyways love the vids, keep it up!
Thanks a lot, I did bring the old intro back on the last video, check it out. I want to change some of the pictures. But the old intro is back in full swing. Thanks so much for supporting the Channel.
I was much happier to see this recipe then the last. The one time I used Coca-Cola the meat came out with a disgusting sewage taste. It was still there after my Sticky Fingers went on. I usually use some chicken bone broth, or mix some of my BBQ sauce with water instead. Right now I'm obsessed with Stub's sticky sweet. I'll give it a try without the liquids though see how it comes out.
I’m doing a pork butt for NYE. I’m gonna smoke it on the WSM for a few hours or until it hits the stall, then finish it and serve it in a Crock Pot. Are you looking at yourself in the monitor or at the camera lens?
This is my 1st time cooking pull pork and I forget to trim the fat off of the pull pork before I put it in the crock pot, will it not good taste good because of the layer of fat?
It will taste fine, you will just have to remove a lot of the fat after it cooks and it is easier to remove it first, that's all. The flavor should be fine.
.. the latches are used , the excess steam gets trapped inside the . Do NOT latch the lid the appliance is . It can also leave an awful flavor from the overheating gasket. The latch is for transporting.
Full disclosure-Amateur here. 😉 In the SPG recipe, you say not to use regular table salt. Why is that bad? Also if I use another cut besides butt, will my meat be ruined (think I have a roast in freezer)? Thanks for your advice.
I watched both of your recipes for the crockpot pulled pork using the Boston Butt. I have a question. I would like to use the Coke and liquid smoke with the SPG plus brown sugar rub, instead of the different seasonings you had in that other video. Have you ever tried that? It sounds delicious, and I'd like to give it a try.
Love the vid, but what about searing before hand? I heard that gives a little bit more flavor. This vegetarian will be doing a pulled pork lunch for a bunch of guys.
I don't know, I never used diet soda in my recipes, I guess you can, but I assume Coke zero has some type of artificial sweetener in it, so not sure what type of flavor that will add to the meat. If you do use it, let me know how it turns out.
Newbie here. Why would you not want it to cook in it's own juices? I assumed that would make it more moist? I've never done this before. Which is why I'm searching RUclips for ideas and found this video. Lol.
That looks like the toughest piece of pork butt ever. Couldn't even shred it. Yikes. It's ok to admit when an experiment has failed - especially when it's this obvious.
The OG recipe is still "beast!" I've used Dr Pepper and Barq's RB as well. Glad to see youre still at it!

I made this but I used a different rub thank you for teaching me how to make pulled BBQ it’s delicious ❤️
Great show thanks for doing it....
Would it give it more flavor if you seasoned it a night before and set it in the fridge ?

You should make a video of you making pulled pork on the grill.
Great cook. Next time try using the low setting. It still cooks in those 8-10 hours, but gets WAY MORE tender and juicy. Cheers BB
I will try the low setting next time, thanks and thanks for watching the video
I agree, I always cook mine for 10 hours on low and it’s fire
How about cover bottom of crockpot with small potatoes??
Happy new year to you and your family🍗🥃🥃🥂

it's so much more tender using a liquid
Idk that looks pretty tough doesnt appear very tender with how hard it was to shred

Yum 😋

I actually tried to cut a small portion off already during the thawing so it would fit in the crock pot like a roast. 🤔
Hey beast- thanks for the tips on making pulled pork bbq in the crockpot!
I’m ready for the playoffs today!
U didn't use onions this time either did that effect the taste any??
Can I follow this exactly the same in my instant pot on slow cooker mode?
I don't see why not, I use my instant pot as a slow cooker all the time, works out great....this should work too. Thanks for watching.
why don't you want the PB sitting in it's own juices when cooking it?
Can you use coke zero instead of coke? For the other recipe?

Bad Beast Barbecue MAN! I made it today with coke zero and Glory to God! That’s good stuff man! Thankyou so much for the how to and recipe
That liquid would make an awesome chicken soup
Just out of curiosity did you soak your meat before cooking because I was told to always soak it 💯
Why Did I Wait So Long To Buy One??
I like to save the juice and make rice with it.
I love it with the coke better. like you said, the meat fall apart when taking it out of the pot.

Thanks for sharing and I like the video to say I will not preparing my meat this way👍🏽

Your pork didn't come out tender because you didn't use any liquid.
Low and slow
I keep my bone nice and clean, too.
