  • NVIDIA told us that we couldn't take apart the new RTX 2080 Ti at the last minute, but then others posted tear-downs and that eliminated the requirement to adhere to this weird rule.

    This video shows how to take apart the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition video cards from NVIDIA, useful as a guide if you're doing a custom water cooling mod or installing a liquid cooling block. This will help with EK water block or Alphacool water block installations on the RTX 2080 Founders Edition cards, and shows the reference PCB of the new NVIDIA cards. Our tear-down and disassembly steps for the Turing Founders Edition cards are clear up until the point of actual cooler disassembly, where we stopped due to complications shown in the video.

      I find it amazing how you guys still manage to read through comments with so much going on in the studio and channel. Big up for the engagement with the community. Please ignore the negativity, it will be always present on the comment section as some people ( sadly alot of people ) are mostly stressed while watching youtube after coming from a hard day at work. I completely agree with your response, but me myself, I can relate to stupid comments I have made and regretted minutes or hours right after. Its easier for us humans to release our anger and rage "indirectly" at some one, and thats why we might see so many comments on every video with high amounts of negativity attached to them.

      Asghaad ray tracing isn’t useless it’s just not in games 3D software uses ray tracing to simulate the path of light particles. It’s one of the big differences between in game graphics and fmv’s. Fmv’s use high poly and ray tracing, in game uses maps to simulate light reflections and shadows... ray tracing uses the actual path of light over geometry to render them as close to reality as possible. If that sounds useless than I guess you don’t want to do those things. Some people think cars are useless and ride there bike everywhere.

    • @Asghaad
      @Asghaad 5 лет назад +4

      as it is now it is USELESS ... the upgrade of nearly unperceiveable softer shadows and few reflections is NOT worth downgrading TWO levels of resolution (from 4k to 1080p) and losing 60-80 percent of the framerate on top of that ...
      and as usual you hopped on the Nvidia bandwagon without realizing its FAKE raytracing ... it doesnt trace whole scenes its very selective and limited FAD ...
      and no i DO NOT want to pay for USELESS hardware that is absolutely USELESS right now ... when we can do at least 2k 60 fps it might be worth to SOME people who prefer those miniscule effects to playing at high framerates, but as long as it doesnt even do OBSOLETE resolution - at high end market these cards are at ... - and on top of that cant even hit mere 60 fps stable NOONE will be using that FAD ...
      stop eating up Nvidias PR crap and realize the tech is unusable at current hardware levels while bumping the price to double of what they should be ... in other words you are paying TWICE THE PRICE for pre-alpha level hardware ... all Nvidia is doing here is to push out hardware that is NOT READY and they know it ...

I don’t know if you should’ve done this after embargo lift just to be on the safe side but you know the situation better. • @Youtubax
      @Youtubax 5 лет назад

      Maxime Bakleh That’s a good question and I presume it’s because of reliability. Let me put an example. Dual card SLI configuration generates a lot of heat and when you pair two axial fan cards that close the upper one will always overheat considerably more than the one below, and I’m talking about certain case cooling designs that block the airflow because of the internal card layout. With blower cards the temp difference between them is reduced as the card’s airflow is enclosed on the card itself, blowing hot air to the the back of the I/O plate vents.

      I do agree, and my argument is that you own 1080 then you can play at high or very high settings with pretty much every game out there. The 2080 seems very much like a paper launch. We as a consumers do indeed have a choice, but it still doesn't take away from the fact that the 2080 is what, 200 dollars more than the 1080? To me Nvidia are shitting on their consumers and enthusiasts, but it is certainly their choice to do so. The whole Apple route they are going isn't going down well with me either. 404Fox, I forgot to mention: glue is quite unlikely for a simple reason: heat - or they risk to turn into Apple's "unibody" macbook. Cyanoacrylate (aka superglue) has less 20% of its strength at around 80C. Of course some glues might be rated for 300C but those are not used in electronic engineering to my knowledge.

    check if there are any screws between fan fins, like in MSI gaming series, which hold fan assembly and shroud together with heatsink

    There looks to be a pry slot possibly for the black cover in the middle that contains the lighted logo near the notch on the opposite side

    Using this "Apple" type construction, with 50+ screws and esoteric construction.. likely cost a lot of money that made these overpriced cards even more overpriced than they should have been. NVidia doesn't cater to regular people, they only cater to rich kids with more money than sense and no understanding of value. A card for sheep. Drop the price $300 and it would be a decent card. At this price it's just a running joke. I keep hearing Jensen Huang saying "the more you buy, the *cheaper* it is".

    "Not involving tweezers" The Verge should just pack up and change his day job at this point. I prefer pre-partnership RUclips, a creative place where if you don't like or know much about the subject you are talking about You aren't Jumping on any trend bandwagon for a quick buck.

    Steve, please do a followup video (however short it may be) when you *do* figure out how to take that thing fully apart. Enquiring minds want to know. ;)

    Sadly the stuff going on at Green reminds me of what happen with FrozenCPU back a few years ago, The company went all over the place with products and pricing as well as Customer Satisfaction and it seems #NGREEDIA is following suit (hopefully not from the same issues as Mark did back then) a Once trusted Company is now laughed at, After that SO called GAMER Launch I wont buy a Green card, I plan to wait to see what AMD & INTEL drop.........its been this long another year isnt going to hurt that much more! as for tear down paul there are 2 other Tech YT channels who did it already too....lol good going Goofy Green!!!

      I can get making a Profit but when you do it on the backs of the PC Gaming Community who helped keep you from going Bankrupt. I still remember them taking out ads in PC mag & doing the sleazy move in a PC mag ad like... Gamers were on the cliffs edge, we can fall off at any time if this happens you cant fight evil (thats what they called AMD BC they were red). They had a few like this in PC world, comp shopper, etc..they acted like OMG were dying go buy or were all fucked....they did and made a huge turn around as we know and now just say FUCK YOU....so as far as I am concerned about BOTH... Screw them let them EAT some of them BILLIONS they made on our Bled dry wallets!
      WE so need AMD to come out with a decent GPU as we seen RTX looks like a joke for gamers, also now new News it wont even work in Multiplayer setting.....so yep wtg Goofy Green!! Intel is kicking Intel in Server and hopefully more to come on the consumer CPU and if we get good consumer GPU's then Screw Green let them suck the bottom for a few years Humble pie so deserved if they get there!!!
