  • Dear friends
A netizen wrote in one day and suggested that I should do an episode
to highlight the eateries based on the stations stops, especially when the MRT has broaden its network considerably. Thanks to you I started the so-called tour by catching a MRT ride to Cochrane Station, while I can’t say there’s many eateries there, but a short walk took me to Peel Road. I’ve been here in the 80s but I must say the old eateries are more or less still here. This experience was rewarding and hopefully better station stops await me. Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food, be it in Peel Road or otherwise. Thanks, and see you in the next video.

Queen’s restaurant at Peel road - almost all the food featured here taste really delicious. What a muhibbah food galore indeed- from Soup kambing, mee rebus, satay to steam fish , classic Chinese buns and Ah Wong barbecue chicken wings. ( there’s also one at Jalan Alor - Wong Ah Wah chicken wings that is great too !). Thank you to Danny too for showing the way in this episode. Yatt Lau again! And Mou Tat Deng too !!! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Yes, Uncle Elmo, The satay, soup kambing and fired chicken wings are really, really good. Queen Restaurant is one of my favorite, especially lunch on every Wednesday. After eating, you can go next door and buy your lucky numbers, Da Ma Cai, Sport Toto and Magnum 4D all there, next to each other. But that usually makes the lunch more expensive if you include money donated to buying the 4D. 😂😂😂 Keep up your good work and Thanks.

Another great episode with history lesson. I frequent Queen's Restaurant quite often. I would reserved my comments on the food there. I want to talk about the satay stall, Majid Satay during the MCO period, the peanut sauce tasted sourish for about 2 years running, just recently during endemic I went back again, the sauce has improved without any sourish after taste. I had recommended many of my friends to try the satay without sauce, the satay is really good, full flavour and tender. Try to reach there before 8.30pm before being sold out. This is one of the top satay in KL. About 100 metres away there is another stall by the roadside, called Zul Satay, some people prefer this satay. Taste both and have your own verdict. It was the sauce, that was the kingmaker. The best peanut sauce from Kajang has to be Haji Samuri.

The description should be "Cochrane Road Secondary School" Which now stands Ikea and MyTown Shopping Mall. That picture is taken from the Tennis Court in front of the School Hall. I was a student @ this school in the 70's.

Hi Uncle Elmo! Thank you for this episode! My family embarked on a small adventure to Peel Road via MRT, I was shocked so many food and places to explore in such a small area. We settled for the Peel Road Nasi Lemak, indeed it’s really tasty. Have you tried Dzul’s satay? Apparently some people said they even supply to Queen’s satay stall 🤷🏻‍♀️ Looking forward to try more stalls in near future. Keep the recommendation coming 👍🏻 Thanks and we appreciate your hard work.
