For me - this Ipoh Road Foodie haunt with all it's specialities and tasty dishes is alreay a Wawasan 2020 on it's own. I would say the shops and stalls chosen to be highlighted in this episode is one notch above average ( in other words - Yatt Lau). Can't help but noticed one of my favorites side kick condiment - century eggs served with ( I hope) very well preserved pickled ginger on the table ( and menu). Like Elmo said - the aesthetic of the dish ( and the shape of the cooked ingredients ) would already give a tell tale sign of how good the dish would turn out. Thank you Elmo (and also to Danny) for bring us this another special episode. Maybe - you are already an accomplished "Wawasan 2020" food and "special introductory " blogger to the community. As always - Yatt Lau & Mou Tak Deng !!!👌👌👌

The cook/ owner in the fish paste pan mee noodle stall at the start of the video had a cigarette in hand and next to the gas tanks. I will always avoid stalls where the cook smokes. Imagine him smoking where the ingredients are. Pls ask your friend Danny to bring this up to him. Elmo , you need to take into account the hygiene aspects of the places you review too.

Hi Elmo .. jalan ipoh is one of the earlier food joints which i explored when i came to KL . Some of it is good but my experience with the BKT seller you featured , it was a nightmare . Sad to say they were very cunning in making extra money . Everytime i make an order , they will conviently " forget " 1 of item eg miss out the stomach or big intestine , when i ask where is it , they will make another bowl specifically with that item and charge me separately . This happens many times till i decided to stop going to thier shop. But overall that area is full of fantastic food , only parking is an issue . Great video !

@@malaysiafood328 No need to apologise for them as you have done nothing wrong .Sometimes these are how they do their business , some ppl will overlook it as small matter since the food is good . Initially i was also sceptical thinking it was an honest mistake but i tested several times .. and every time the same pattern . So i knew this is how the conduct their business. Pointless to argue with them. We just take our business else where. Many more great food available and plus i am subscribing to the most honest food vlogger , therefore i know i am getting an honest deal ! LOL!

To classify Malaysia a third world country is not a derogation but a factual classification, even though our country is not bad at all in many aspects, especially great variety of delicacies available in almost every corner of streets. Still remember the bak kut teh and "Tim Sam" that I had tried in one of the late night in Jalan Ipoh quite many years back, which is unimaginable in some of the countries that I had stationed at, no even a soul you able to find at night in rural areas of Australia, to say nothing of a hawker stall, for instance! Malaysia can only evolve itself from third world to the first, if only all shameless politicos and goody two shoes such as Hadi Awang alike are totally disappeared, I gathered!

I often go to jln Ipoh for meals. For me, the jalan Ipoh Curry Laksa stall is over rated. The laksa is nothing special. their red bean is ok la....but a big difference when comparing to Ipoh town's red bean desserts. The only thing good about this stall is the Cha kueh Tiau. tons of wok hei....but they dont give even 1 prawn....which is a big let down.

Doing away with the death penalty so we can be more like first world countries isn't something we should necessarily celebrate. After all, when first worlders invade and occupy other countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, they certainly didn't show the same mercy and leniency to the inhabitants.
Personally, I think it's better to think of the distinction between first and third world not as developed versus undeveloped, but rather exploiter versus exploited. A formal colonial status has disappeared, but an informal one still exists, predicated on American (dollar) hegemony. The Federal Reserve raising its rate in recent months causing all sorts of economic problems in Malaysia is a particular instructive example. All the supposed high standard of life first world countries enjoy are simply the legacy of the immense plundered wealth they've carted back home when they were colonialists, and the privilege they still enjoy by ruling behind the scenes (look up France and the Francafrique zone still having its economic policies dictated by their "former" masters).
And to be accurate, we still have the death penalty, just that we've done away with mandatory death penalty. What it means is that judges aren't forced to sentence a guilty person to death if the law calls for it, they can commute the sentence to life imprisonment. Judges can still sentence someone to the death if the judges feel that it is appropriate.
Keep up the good work on showcasing delicious food as always 😜
