  • In this video, we discuss the difference between Net Zero and Carbon Neutral. Carbon neutral refers to a policy of not increasing carbon emissions and of achieving carbon reduction through offsets. While net-zero carbon means making changes to reduce carbon emissions to the lowest amount.

Super informative thankyou ! I understand the differences between the two now, honestly wasn't sure there was one until watching, it would be awesome to hear about what steps as an individual I can take to have a bigger effect - I hadn't even considered my pension, or bank account etc, I get that having a reusable coffee cup is good but it would be useful to learn more about the "invisible" ones :D

Can you please give more examples to differentiate between carbon neutral and net zero.
    More from industry perspective

so, in net zero does it means that we have to lower our GHG emissions by research and also have to neutralize the amount of GHG emission produced by offsetting

Can we implement action from net zero context (e.g replacing fuel based engine to battery) and carbon neutral (e.g non distrubed land watershed rehabilitation)? What should we call that company, net zero or carbon neutral?

very interesting question, we can do activities to be carbon neutral and/or reach net zero but maybe not be both at the same time.

If I understand correctly the concept of 'carbon neutrality,' you used makeup, an apple watch, nail paint, eye stuff, and hair stuff, so you need to plant 10 trees every day!

Why do you all seem to address individuals who by themselves have a very little carbon footprint. When you should be targeting multi million pound industries and billionaires, who send rockets to outer space.
There is now a new space race to the moon, and air travel is at a record high.
Please don't lecture on the measely little bit of impact the public are doing when big business it thriving.
And by the way. There will never be a battery plane. Battery it to unreliable and loses charge at different rates everytime a piece of electrical equipment is turned on. So is not economically viable in air travel.
    Governments know this.

That is zero carbon. Net zero is capturing emission at source 😷😷😷

Thanks for your comment. Zero carbon means that no carbon emissions are being produced from a product or service. Net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas produced and the amount removed from the atmosphere.

@@betternotstopchannel yes , correct but in your initial statement you said net zero is no carbon , it means no emission of c02

Net Zero, don’t make me laugh. Next they will be talking about getting rid of Diamonds 💎 because they are chemically composed of 99.95% Carbon.
