Say Yes To The Dress has become a haven for me to be kind to those buying one of the most expensive and important garments in a woman's life, their wedding dress. But in reality, Say Yes To The Dress Bridesmaids allows me to absolutely DESTROY THESE UGLY GROSS SAD DRESSES, which is usually mandatory for the bridal party. I understand a bride doesn't want to be overshadowed on her big day, but she shouldn't be given the option to make her bridesmaids look like clowns. But luckily, our brides on today's video made some pretty decent choices, but they wouldn't be mine.

Im mad, the honorary bridesmaid had better sense of style and seemed to respect the opinion of the bride, while the bridesmaids were all mad and opinionated about everything
That is probably why they are bridesmaids. I bet when they met together to pick who would be bridesmaids or honorary, the bride felt pressured to pick the pushy ones.
i know! me tooo
Right? i mean its not their wedding anyway so let the bride choose what she wants and than they can have their tacky bridesmaid dresses when their day's come (if they plan on it)
S. C. Legit though. Bet money the honorary bridesmaids are just the only ones in the group who wouldn’t throw a whole ass wall-eyed toddler tantrum at the word ‘honorary’. (Edit:misspelling)
maria paz that my friend is called entitlement
The girl that called the honorary's dress tacky looks like she forces her children to wear minnie mouse ears on instagram on a daily basis
Can someone please find her and her instagram lol
that's extremely particular lol
If one of my friends was acting like that, she wouldn't even be at the wedding or my life.

*oh god*
How do all of these people look about 30 when they're like 21
Exactly! 21/22 is so young! And yet they look so old. I'm only about 3 years younger than them and I get constantly mistaken for a 12 yo. Idk what's up with them
Going off of all the southern stereotypes that I know there is some truth to: its the lack of proper sun skincare (which can be hard in super sunny places). The regular UV damage to their skin ages it like crazy. In addition to that is their ‘mature’ makeup and hairstyles, it’s not horrible when done right, but it ages them.
@@jadieschwarzkopf8585 The hair and makeup definitely have to do with it. And interesting theory! As someone from South Texas, I haven't heard of that stereotype, but honestly, Texas isn't even that southern compared to all the states between it and Florida (not geographically but stereotypically) - at least in my personal experience. So it might make sense that I haven't heard of it
Rich
Also, their outfits make them look way older. When I was a teenager I looked like I was a subsitute teacher than a student, because of the way I was dressed. And I didn't even use makeup at that time. This is what happens when you don't have a style and let your mom pick clothes for you.
I found the problem. Honorary bridesmaid Liz is so pretty, looks great in all her dresses and the others are jealous.
Still at the beginning but lol
Same thoughts. We can see through them
Exactly! She has an amazing figure and they do NOT want her to look better than them. It's so childish.
They're mad that the honorary bridesmaid looked like a queen while they all look like Karens who drink vodka out of a flask in secret during parent teacher meetings

"In what world would you hear the word crumb catcher neckline and say "Oh god put it all over my breasts!"?" Has got to be one of my favorite things I've heard on RUclips of all time😂👏🏼😂👏🏼
Crumb Catcher necklines are perfect for feeding toddlers.
Her honorary bridesmaid seems like the best friend out of these girls (and the prettiest damn). She listened to the bride, she was kind and she took herself out of the picture.
She definitely deserves a title more similar to maid of honour because that's what the maid of honour does.
Yeah. I think what happened is that the bride felt like she had to give the bridesmaid title to the bridemaids because they were like family or childhood friends and it was more "legitimate" but the only one she truly cares about is the honorary bridesmaid. It explains why she would have the title because the bride clearly doesn't really feel like her feelings are valid so she could feel like her liking honorary isn't a good enough reason for her to be a bridesmaid vs the other girls who are family, in laws, long-term friends or even co-workers and have a more official reason to be there.
Im appalled that people would actually have these “friends” in their lives. Like the entitlement is mind blowing. If its NOT your wedding ACTUALLY just shut up and wear it?????
I will bet you that they are her sorority sisters or something similar.
Especially in the South -- manners??? In public??? Only mama and family members can throw shade.
Yeah, I wouldn't put up with this nonsense for one minute.
Right?? And if you have an opinion don’t be so rude and cause fighting like...ugh
Those girls all reminded me of my bf's sister lol Can confirm that here in Dallas, many people act like that about _everything_.

I would like to apologize to everyone because of the Samantha, who picked the crumb catcher neckline. I am a Samantha, and I feel the need to apologize for how grotesque that dress was.
It's ok, apology accepted 😂😂
There's always a Samantha in a group like that...no worries.

It's ok. Samantha's are basically unproblematic, it's the Autumn's who need help.
as a fellow Samantha, I concur.
I feel like Liz makes all the dresses look good because she has good energy and love in her mind.
attitude is everything
She just shines and dresses she wore were prettier than the others.
What is the point of having "honorary" bridesmaids? It just seems like you're inviting tension and drama.
My exact thoughts lulz. She stated that the some of the bridesmaids thought they were better than the "honorary" bridesmaids, but she was the one that created a hierarchy in the first place. She sectioned off her friends and literally made a group feel inferior by having them in her bridal party but only gave them a partial title. It made no sense. Let's be real, the bride is just as problematic as her bridal party--she just hid it better.
@@xkandilandx I got the feeling that she fed off of the attention.
I think she really was just trying to please people. They were probably sorority sisters or in-laws or something.
@@xkandilandx it seemed like it wasn't her idea to me. and she did give a a practical reason for it, i don''t know why everyone's ignoring it but it was because there weren't as many groomsmen as bridesmaids, and they need it to be the same number of briesmaids so, not all of the women would be able to stand at the altar. imo these women were gonna be rude and dramatic no matter what was happening.
Oml, hearing Luke rip the glasses girl to shreds gives me life!

“Crumb catcher neckline” IM SCREAMING 😭😭😭😂😂😂

Southern bride insight for you:
When you pick bridesmaids, you should pick girls that you can communicate with effectively. My 3 girls and I had an understanding that my priorities for their dress was that they all feel confident and beautiful. We chose together a style that covered any insecurities and complimented their bodies. They told me what about each dress they tried on made them feel good and what made them feel self-conscious. It took us about 2 hours from the start of searching the sample racks to the time we made a decision. They respected the guidelines I set and we communicated calmly and pleasantly. If your bridesmaids are being nasty like the girls that frequent this show, then they shouldn't be your bridesmaids because they don't understand that it is your wedding and not all about them. The bride comes first.
I'd like to add that alongside the rule of the bride comes first, if the bridesmaids are paying for the dresses and the bride hasn't already asked for their opinions, they should 100% get some kind of say in what they end up wearing.
@@47ratsinahoodie within reason. like if the bride says "dress must be floor length and pink, but style can be whatever you want" and a bridesmaid says "I will only wear olive green and cocktail length" then that's disrespectful to the bride. If you want to wear an olive cocktail dress so badly, you can be a guest. Girls like that have chosen their own vision for what they want to look like and are ignoring the fact that it isn't their wedding and that they agreed to participate in a capacity which requires them to wear a certain dress. Within reason objections are things like "can we choose a slightly darker pink because this one washes me out" and "I'm not a fan of the way this neckline makes my shoulders look, let's try something else."
@@thecomorbiditycurator8018 Yeah, I agree with that. The bridesmaid can focus on what she likes and the bride can focus on what looks good with everyone else. A compromise should be possible in that situation (like the slightly dark pink you mentioned). Brides and bridesmaids in this show seem to forget that the bridesmaid aren't there by right nor do they really have any obligation to accept the offer (I mean, it's nice if you do but you don't _have_ to, you know) so bridesmaids shouldn't act like the wedding and bride will be worse off without them and brides shouldn't act like their bridesmaids have no choice but to be a bridesmaid and do what they say. I'm so glad that if I get married, I'm not going beyond four bridesmaids or groomsmen (I'm bi ace). Wait, would they still be called bridesmaids or groomsmen if you're non-binary or could someone just call them whatever they want at that point? 😂
“if we all wear the same thing then theres not a point in there being honorary and regular bridesmaids” oh my god i hate this so much i HATE IT!! its stupid and INCORRECT!!! the bride literally explained it in the beginning, so the difference should be that the honoraries do not walk down the aisle and will not stand at the altar with the couple, bc of the unevenness. the dresses they wear wont change that, so let them all wear the same dress!!! i cant believe the bridesmaid said that, god
This is why you shouldn't have that divide in the first place, though - it always causes issues. It's a proven psychological thing that when you tell one group of people they're better than the other, that's going to sink in and make them treat the other group as less-than. We see it over and over. And that's essentially what this "real bridesmaid vs honourary bridesmaid" split does.
Honestly, the solution to this is either: forget everything being symmetrical, because that's not important, or have the balls to tell that person "Hey, you're not a bridesmaid because the numbers are uneven".
@@LordofFullmetal plenty of women in weddings like this manage not to devolve into vicious aggression. cmon now. and there is no difference between them besides the fact one group walks somewhere and stands there. the bride certainly never implied either group was "better" & i don't know how you came to that conclusion either. its clear the women being dramatic and rude were very likely that way before the split of honorary & regular bridesmaids.
the bride's a people pleaser so unfortunately more cruel & vindictive people are gonna be drawn to her & she's gonna have a harder time than most trying to cut them all off or constantly set boundaries with them.
I think they should take Luke's suggestion and amp it up. There should be 15 girls vying for 6 bridesmaid spots and they are voted off based on the quality of their dress choice. Luke, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia should judge. C'mon Netflix... you've produced way worse ideas!!
This would be PERFECT

That grey dress with the sleeves I can imagine being really beautiful in pictures with a bunch of bridesmaids hold flowers on the alter, it would hold up over time , feels timeless and royal
It was very elegant and it was my favorite.
I feel like the first bride chose that dress because she's young enough to still remember what her prom dress looked like. You can't tell me half of the bridesmaid dresses out there can't also be mistaken for prom dresses, the tulle, the empire waist, the gaudy jewels. Prom dress 100% percent.
“The traveling bridesmaid dress of the Aryan sisterhood”???? I’m deceased 😂😂😂
In these shows it seems like the people with least amount of style have the strongest opinions. Some of them fight the bride so much, it doesn't even make any sense: wtf are you doing, why are you causing all this trouble over a dress?
It's because some people without style think they have the best style ever, and that they're allowed to judge everybody
“I don’t want Hayley to be stressed right now”. And they wonder why she is the honorary brides maid. Out of all of those ladies she is the only woman who truly cares what Hayley wants and how Hayley feels and that’s why she is the honorary bridesmaid

It appears a lot in the movie Emma (cause it plays in a time when it was fashionable) and all of the costumes look gooood asf! But still not good for a wedding...
ppl who have really high waists and big boobs
Agreed!!!
I think it can look gorgeous if you do something interesting with the texture or the sleeves. But it's more...I think about letting the accessories really push it forward. I dont like that empire waist dress though, dont like the neckline or the bra form or the little bodice part either.
For me I prefer the body type in it thats super slender and tall with small boobs in a push up or with a low neckline. Possibly a body type with a slender upper frame and wide hips as well. I just dont think it works when you try to make it look modern because the "pride and prejudice" time periods it was already used in used the silloutte to it's best effect.

Where I live an honorary bridesmaid is only one and it's the most important one. Like your best friend since childhood is gonna be her.
@@irenen9 i was pretty sure that would be maid of honour. "honorary bridesmaid" does remind me of "honorary mention" in a rating, looks like that was the logic in this video.
@@realizinghiskingdom1733 I'm from texas and have never heard of an "honorary bridesmaid" there are brides maids, the maid of honor and junior bridesmaids if you're a kid.
Every time I watch Say Yes to the Dress Bridesmaids, I always end up thinking about how every bridal party, ESPECIALLY bridal parties with a non-confrontational bride or lots of bridesmaids, should have at least 1 neutral member who isn't part of the wedding and who is literally there to work as a mediator/the bride's backup. My aunt did that at her wedding, she had a friend who wasn't able to attend the wedding due to an upcoming military deployment serve as the "peacekeeper" who was there to remind the bridesmaids that it wasn't their wedding and to tell them to shut the Hell up. It worked like a charm. But yeah, I think that should be an actual, hirable position for the wedding industry.

Keeping your bridal party small also helps! The more is not always the merrier
I've seen a lot of people do this for their wedding, and honestly they all look so gorgeous in the end. Every bridesmaids was able to choose a dress that they liked and looked good in. If someone was more comfortable in sleeves, then they could wear them. If someone wanted a cute halter, they could do that too. It was great!
Make sure that they check in with you on the dress though and have your okay. That way you can make sure it goes with the theme and won’t clash with other peoples dresses or yours. My aunt did this and one of my cousins did as well and they had very beautiful dresses.
