I wish there was a bow & arrow with crossbows mod that didn't include such pristine modern versions. Just makeshift and well-worn prewar with simple arrows and bolts.
Lstring Bow This is one of my favorite mods since it first became available. Initially there was a conflict with open scopes and you had to be sure you used the “open files” version of this. I think that was corrected and not needed anymore. I have it set aside for now while I test some weapons. Ever since an FO4 update the following weapons CTD if I use them: AER-15, EGL-7, CS-5, Factor, RU-556, M-60 and several others. However these work fine: Service Rifle, Wattz 3000, China Lake, M82A3, RU-91, Colt 10MM Pistols and others. It looked like the Lstring Bow might be the conflict but removing it did not make any difference. I will put it back in for a new game. Regards
You know seeing this mod has made me ask, why aren’t bows a more widespread weapon in the fallout universe? Between ammunition shortages and other tribal weapons already existing, you’d think more people would be running around with bows
To be honest, this is actually one of the most sensible weapons/hunting tools to be in any post-apocalyptic wasteland scenario. I mean sure, it may not hold up all too well against firearms. But I find it much more reasonable for archery to be around as a weapon system while guns are somewhat more rare. I do like to mess around with both bows and guns though. Edit: I saw a very similar bow and arrow mod for Fallout: New Vegas on RUclips. However for some reason, that mod isn’t actually on the Nexus for said game which makes me a little sad. For someone who likes to make badass characters that generally use guns in post-apocalyptic roleplaying games, I’m also a sucker for archer characters in fantasy roleplaying games. Making an archery character in a post-apocalyptic video game is something that would make me Jonah Hill scream with joy.
@@tinaherr3856 RIGHT?! Especially with certain tribes in Zion Valley, I imagine they themselves would make use of archery as a combat/hunting system much like the Comanche.
Because at the beginning it was impossible to do custom animations, that's why so many mods in the early days had vanilla animations that clipped through the models, it took sometime before the tools were created to make true custom animations. The early bow mod that came out at the time had no animations and instead was shot, held and reloaded like the 10mm Pistol. Beyond that you had to make new behaviors for the weapon which required script extender that did not exist until later on in the game's life time.
@@Obduleo wow I still remember the first day mods became available for Xbox one I was all over it but I never caught that one. Do you have a link for it so I could see what that was like?
Such a great weapon, especially cool to use in the beginning of a Survival playthrough. Hopefully someone can get some new 3rd person animations, though.
an old mod but man it holds up great by today's standards. I've been using it on my long range hunter playthrough and it holds up nicely in the late game

It amazes me that a bow and arrow never made it into the vanilla fallout world. Surely the odd one or two bows would have survived given how many hunters in the US still use them to this day. Not to mention how someone would likely have tried to make a basic wooden bow in real life if you had to live off the land.
Okay I haven't played fo4 in afew months so I might actually do a new mod load out with this mod on with daks other mods and maybe use a gig light graphics mods so I can have some nice weapon mods

I do love ite cause its a funcional bow but I have it cause its not that smooth and polished and, its very strong and easy to craft a lot of arrows, and I think it might be implementeted bettre in terms of look and different variants into the game to be more lore firendly. F76 has a very decent bow, I just want that implemented in F4 :D
I know I'm a little late I'm doing a zombie survival fallout 4 so your going to be fighting a lot of ghouls and i figured gun ammo probably going to be rarer and in the beginning you could probably make arrows so it will be early useful
Strange, I don't recall it being on the Leveled List anymore outside someone else's mod. Maybe on previous versions, but not its current version. Due to how we can switch ammo types, the bows ammo counter start off as something like 'no arrows' so nobody can't use it without your help, thus it was taken off in the current version and can only be found in some places or have to be built for more. Never bought or looted. Before anyone says BS to me, I've been playing with that mod since it came out. The enemies had them before, but wouldn't use them at all and pelted me with pipe gun bullets. In said previous versions, looting the bows off their dead corpses reveals that they couldn't use them because the bow is set to 'no ammo type'.

The Creation Engine is a 3D video game engine created by Bethesda Game Studios based on the Gamebryo engine. The Creation Engine has been used to create role-playing video games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Were you drooling as you made that comment? 0:59 What?!
I’m well aware of the engine it’s based on, but I take it you don’t have much experience with mod creation. The task of creating a functioning bow in fallout is very impressive, and something that cannot be done simply with the tools provided in the ck, hence why this mod requires the script extender. So I suppose I’m sorry for praising the mod author
the stealth archer playstyle makes its way to fallout, there is no containing it
It was already there... it was just in fo76 instead of fo4... its actually pretty fun to play an aimbot sneak archer...
When you test weapons damage you can use the mod 'floating damage' to show the damage done. I'd love to see that
(Riflery Greatly Approves)
That’s the best idea yet
agreed
It also functions like the Railway Rifle and Harpoon gun. If you do enough damage to the limbs or head it will dismember and pin it on a wall
