ruclips.net/video/3BU-WAQo4P8/видео.html I just wanted to point out that, instead of using an LFO, there's also the "Play By Key" option, which you can engage by right clicking on the Freq knob in the filter section. In the context menu, on top of the "Edit MIDI" etc. commamnds, you will find it. This allows for the filter cutoff to modulate according to Note Pitch. I like this series, because I still got something new out of it, even though I'm a Live user since 11 years now and I didn't think Operator would hold any more secrets for me. Just goes to show... Thanks for this!
10:57 Game Of Thrones
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Santiago Micah Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Santiago Micah it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
"Operator is the building block, ableton is the synthesizer"
WHERE HAS THIS CHANNEL BEEN ALL MY LIFE. Seriously, so much more information on operator and synthesis in general than half of all the other tutorials I've gone through. You are incredible!
It’s phenomenal…also Ned Rush, my 2 favs
I've only implemented the sounds in the first half of the video and I'm already making Operator only tracks. This has changed the way I see sound design. Thank you immensely
jUST realised the same thing allready got a track :D
i can't believe this video doesn't have 1M views. I didn't know all the possibilities that the operator has. I have spent an entire week in order to understand and apply this concepts. You really dominate this instrument. Thanks for sharing!
Exceptional tutorial series! Thank you for all your work on this, and for making it available for free.
0:40 "We're gonna make all the drums. All the sounds Morty. It's just you, and me, and all the drums in an adventure around the universe. It never stops."
watching this sped up and this is even more relevant haha
Wow, the single best FM sound design video I've ever seen
I'm moving through this series on Operator and for a million reasons this is one of the best and most informative series on anything (across a range of subjects) I have ever seen.
This flute lead is AMAZING, i set all the knobs at my own operator same as you did and the way it immitates natural flute sound is MINDBLOWING.
So fascinating when someone understand all the buttons. I would like to. 20 years on Ableton and knowing sh.t about this amazing tool. Thanks for this one!
Your 3 Operator videos really show the depth of Operator and are also great for showing how synthesis in general works. Thanks
In like two days this has become one of my favorite ableton/music production channels on Yt, I'm binge-whatching all your videos
Bro thank you so much for this! I recently upgraded to 11 suite and have been kinda intimidated by operator. I’ve watched shorter videos that were endlessly more complicated and all theory but no application. This video answered a lot of questions for me!
Listening to this as a podcast type thing whilst driving and at work. Cant wait to go home and watch it all again with operator and a note pad
I've seen tons of videos, and readed a shit ton more manuals just to get my sounds the way I want. Now you're showing me that I had this synth just in front of my eyes.
Really, thank you, I'm recommending this to all my friends.
I used to make this neuro stuff in much more complex way, its an amazing starting point, you are the boss man!!!
You are the GREATEST! When creating Filter Plucks I had a great time LFOing Time and then playing with the Time I made some really out there "Oriental Pluck" Sounds (To quote the DX7 soundbanks) Thank you SO much
Best music production tutorial I've ever seen and I've seen a lot!
Legend! This is excellent, thanks for sharing your awesomeness 🎹
Very Awesome Sounds bro
Glad I found your video. Explains a lot of things in a easy way. Trully shows the Operator is a powerfull tool. Keep going and may the force be with you :D
For kick drum, snare and hi hats, it would be even better to set Release to the same value as Decay. This way if you release the button prematurely it will still play the whole sequence. (not sure if this has been covered as I've only seen parts of the tutorial so far)
This is the best tutorial I have seen on anything Ableton related. Thank you so much. I had no idea about using the pitch envelope as an auxiliary envelope. You rule
Really enjoyed watching the operator tutorial, you have clear and great Character in your voice which made it easy for me to learn quite a bit, there's so much to learn!!!
Hats off to ya 👍
Wow! you make me understanding it. You dont need any other pluginstuff!
Another brilliant tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make and share these vids.
legit you made me love operator which i was scared of for a while, also pleasant voice and tutorial thanks broseph
Im testing out Abletons free trial to see if I like it more than Logic. Its been 2 days Ive just been messing around with it and it's amazing already and I'm fascinated with Operator and I am dying to learn how to use it effectively. Great tutorial my friend, thank you
"Huh, this kind of sounds like DaftPunk........Eh, whatever" LMAO
this tutorial is all you need to know operator!Awesome❤
15:17 love that rude lead
criminally underrated video
Wow this video is great. I wish I would've watched this months ago when I started messing with virtual synths. I've spent so much time blindly fiddling thinking I'd eventually get the gist of FM synthesis.
Thanks!
I teach sound design myself and know what quite a few things but you just reminded me that there is always someone who knows more and thinks differently. Thank you. I am thirteen minutes in and your trick with the modulation envelope turned to LFO is pretty nifty..!
THE WORLD IS MY HAMSTER!
always wanted to make the world my hamster. or at least guinea pig.
Awesome. I was going to drop a ton of money on a Digitone, but thought maybe I should take some "lessons" on FM synthesis first so I'm not going into it totally blind. Remembered Operator was an FM soft synth, found your video, and now I'm making a ton of patches. Extremely useful, very helpful, remixed a track from one of my musical idols using a lot of stuff I learned here, and he put it on his Patreon. Mega thanks
Ableton, the GOAT DAW!
The time knob is honestly one of my absolute favorite features about operator, especially for making one shot percussion samples. Instead of going through and tweaking the envelopes again you straight up turn one knob. Combine that with filter setting tweaks and sweeps and you can just churn out white noise based sounds (claps, hats, knocks, etc etc.)
Man that last one sounded likes waves rolling into shore - crazy
Drink every time the shaper is going to make it shine! Great tutorial :)
Thank you so much for this video! Love around 18:30 sounds kinda melamin, wicked sway'ish super cool.
The rest of the world is your hamster. Lovely work! So clear and concise and empowering. Nailed it.
the kick slaps so hard 🔥
Vids are great, man. I'm going through a ton of your tutorials this week. Thanks for sharing the content. Learning from you about how I can use the machine to do the work, and just be the selector has really changed things for me.. I'm having a lot more fun.
My brain cannot process this much new information at once.
This is soooo goood. You are great at this! I wish I could run Operator on an iPad so I can patch on the go and email myself the patch files. ANYWAY. What’s the verb you’re using during the flute section?!!
just to let u know this is really helpfull, even more when you decide to stop going through preset patches and figure out how to make cool sounds
super comprehensive
. thank you
Operator demystified!
Preach!
Your videos are THE best.
OMG!!! I've fallen in love with Operator again!!! Thanks!!!
This is some top level knowledge
Superb, thanks for sharing the knowledge. Where is the more in-depth tutorial on the Reese bassline, please?
your didatics is VERY good my man
Just signed up for your Patreon. Keep up the good work!

20:30 sounds amazing bro

I think now I can deep dive into your Channel ^^
Thx for theses lessons, I'm new in ableton and I feel like I'm maiking my first huge step with your lessons.

This video is incredible. Amazing work. Thank you so much, keep doing what you're doing. Gods work.
You are amazing brother thank you
You are actually insane dude! Awesome tutorial.
Thanks for showing us we don’t always need the newest shiny plugin!
amazeballs, clear and concise content
dude, this tutorial is amazing! congratulations and thank you!
I think I see what you're doing there and it's elegant.
You're not just teaching sound design. You're also progressively teaching all the toggles in Operator. Well-designed lesson.
fantastic tutorial. thank you very much
Brilliant video! Thank you!
It's amazing . Thank you!
man! you just made my day.
Thank you for this amazing tutorial
Thanks a bunch! At times a tad bit too quick for me but overall extremely informative and I especially like the frequent sound samples. A lot of tutorials get lost in the explanations while you immediately demonstrate what effect a particular change causes.
Thanks for a great video
mate this was so helpful !!!!! thanks so much dude
New hobby explored.
Dude wait thank you so much for this, I’ve been using ableton for a couple years but I just upgraded and got operator!! This was really helpful
Amazing videos!
Thank you so much, you have just uncovered so much hidden potential in Ableton Live for me!
Support and appreciation from Russia!
Thank you bro!
Verry helpfull
Great tutorial!!! and if you don't believe me, then let me put some reverb on it! HAHAHA! This instructor has some character and that makes watching these tutorials worth the time: Great instruction delivered with humor.
