LOL, these guys are the real deal. I remember hearing about some of the antics that seal platoons got up to in Coronado and VietNam. I was stationed with BSU-1 from early 68 to Jan. 73. Back then we young single enlisted lived in two story barracks just across from the chow hall. They were not air conditioned and during the spring thru fall, every UDT class and every platoon going thru hell week would wake us up getting chow at midnight. The guys in charge would be hollering at the "tadpoles" about who went in to eat first and how everyone would get down and assume the position to do push-ups. No one wanted to eat first because then those exiting first had to do push-ups until everyone was out pf the chow hall. I did spend one trip down south, Dong Tam, with a seal platoon and have a pack of stories myself of what the seals and us MST-2 guys got up to. Believe me, none of it would be acceptable in today's Navy or Seal Teams! One week the seal chief, last name same as a famous furniture maker of the time, went to Saigon and brought back Tammy , from under the bridge to Nha Bay, and her girls back for a fun weekend. The seal barracks was basically a brothel that weekend. Even had a projector and XXX movies to get the fellows ready. LOL, LOL. Tammy and her girls were noted for their oral abilities!!! He also brought back a case of several hundred throwing knives and every seal and mst guy became pretty fair at throwing them. Darn near wore out that one wall of the bunker between the barracks. I wonder if these guys remember the Easter weekend that the seals training on SDVs accidentally kicked the SDV into reverse as we were pulling it out of the water on it's trailer. It took off for parts unknown and the seals spent the weekend diving that area and finally found it near the Coronado yacht club.

I've really enjoyed listening to these memories of these 2 men! Although I've been listening for a couple days now. I grew up with a circle of "old timers " as i called them! The majority of them served in Vietnam. They actually became my friends even though they was 20 or so years older than me! My last best friend past away couple winters ago and this has been helping me get over missing them all. Thanks for sharing and i thank them for their service!!

I truly learned a lot from these two . I am a B-52 H model. Air Force veteran . Love these stories . I’ve imagined myself in certain stories . Nothing like having the self esteem and confidence these men express . 23 was it for me . The military can do that .

I have all the respect in the world for SEAL veterans and it would be nice to see and hear respect for John McCaine’s sacrifices. The silence after trump’s disparaging remarks is still deafening. I’m a vet and knows the difference between Patriotism, hatetriotism, and Faketriotism. Our brothers and sisters didn’t die for a trump in their future - especially America’s Special Warfare community - respect to everyone in it.

These men are my heros . The adventures they experienced during that time in Vietnam is greater than any amount of money or anything this world had to offer . Listening to them I attempted to visualize their experience and of course haven't A clue but I envy these men and have all the respect a man can have for another man. Thank you men for your bravery and courage . True warriors , a special type of breed that will never be replicated.

it always makes me smile these stories of guys who pick the wrong fight 😭. An acquaintance of mine, a former legionnaire, now a physiotherapist, was attacked one evening in a gas station by 2 gangsters armed with baseball bats. he was able to invoke self-defense, but not without being roasted by the police. He expertly explained to me the bones he had broken and the torn ligaments… it must have sounded like the famous scene from the movie “hell or high water” which happens also in a gas sation.

Someone needs to get these guys their Deserved Medals...? What did they do for work once out of the Navy? Another Seal from Team 1 from Vietnam era wrote a book and it covers the Christmas party. These two don't tell you that every time an MP came up the stairs they sent them back down in many different forms. Including Liquor bottles to the head. ect... lol
