First of all, thanks for doing this video. It was helpful. I am totally new to Wordpress and have been struggling for days to figure out where to start in actually using it to build a first website for my new company. Videos that break it down to the basics that aren’t based on “look at me and how great I am at showing you how to click here and there to quickly build something you can’t duplicate” are hard to come by. Your video helped by giving the lay of the land so I know where to find things and better understand how to move forward on my own. I look forward to checking out your other videos,
A good UI is selfexplaining... no one would ever need this kind of video :D I develop a plugin for gutenberg... that thing has so much deep problems... updated block structure destroys blocks so that you can't use them anymore... the gutenberg developer in github says... that's what we want... wrahhhhhh
How can i view and edit a page without opening new tab, just stay at the back end with all other wordpress sidebars? Every time i click edit page it will open a dedicated tab for it.
Thanks for the excellent tutorial! If I activate the Gutenberg plugin and then design a page, what happens to the page content if I disable the plugin? Will it disappear? If not, will the page design and content still look the same in whatever theme I'm using? Thanks!
Gutenberg is now part of WordPress, so you won't be able to disable it, unless you're running the beta version of the plugin. Even then, I'd say that unless it's a new block that doesn't exist, it will try and spit out the HTML used to create it. Or show up as an unsupported block in your WordPress website. Hope that makes sense.
Selecting elements can also be done by using the TAB key. so for instance: if I click on a columns and I want to select the row, I can press TAB first and then shift tab to go back to the row. Its not great to use tab first but it must be done in order to activate this shift tab. just my 2 cents
Does everyone install the Gutenberg plugin? I noticed it's only a two-star review plugin, plus Gutenberg should be with wp installation. This is very confusing.

I have created a few pages with Gutenberg already and I have also installed the standalone plugin which is version 9.0.0 atm. But my Gutenberg editor looks more like a openoffice page than this sleek editor you're running how and why? is it because I have tu BUY Gutenberg to have its full potential or am I just doing something completely wrong? I can't create blocks or paragraphs, I have no "big three" I my upper left corner ... just a "Word-ish" kind thing with text and images I one go
AHA! I Found it! Settings -> Writing -> Block editor. YESSSS ! Finally I've been using Visual Composer because I didn't think that Gutenberg was able todo all that, but it's been a quite buggy and annoying journey, Gutenberg FTW !
Now I have new problem though... 😅The block editor is cool and all that.. but for formatting text ? I mean besides Bold, Italic and Link? I know I can change font size and color/Backgroundcolor in the menu to the right under block... But if I want to change the font of a paragraph and the spacing in-between the lines of paragraph what to do then ?
It does act like a page builder but arguably not as powerful as elementor or the others. It is the default option shipping With Wordpress l, but you can disable it at least for now.
Following this thread because I would also like to know where you'd go. For me, Gutenberg is a disaster. It's got some good features for non-coders. I particularly like the drop cap for the first paragraph. However, even when I create a custom HTML block, I still can't get an image to do padding, text wrap, etc. It's just the easiest way to drive an HTML/CSS coder insane.

Tip 1 should be "move to another website." Wordpress has lost their minds with this one, it's baffling and counter-intuitive and complicated
