    This is the first of your videos that I am watching & I had to comment…”awesome editing, audio, and content.” You dive right into the important information and you make it easy to understand the viewers’ options. I especially love your seamless video transitions, the soothing feel good background music & the overall upbeat, yet professional vibe you use in narrating. A+!! Had to subscribe. Love that you don’t waste my time & I get to learn quickly. Thank you!!!

    Kadence Blocks is the best! I recreated a Neve Theme page made with Elementor and... The result was simply amazing! PageSpeed score of 97 Mobile and 100 Desktop, NO CACHE PLUGIN. This is just one example among many that you yourself, Jack, have shown and proven in other videos.

    I'm about to launch my first WordPress blog site and a couple of weeks ago (prior to watching this video), I made the decision to use the combination you suggested - Getwid/Kadence Blocks. So first and foremost, thanks for the validation!! I'd been comparing different plugins for months but had been reluctant to make a decision. For a long while, I thought it would be Getwid and Gutentor, but in the end, I chose Getwid/Kadence. I would like to add that I also use the Editor Plus plugin which is basically a toolkit to add more functionality to the stock blocks that come with WordPress. Gutentor and Editor Plus might be a couple of plugins to discuss on your channel sometime in the future.

    Great video, as always, Jack. Thank you for posting. I had lots of these types of plugin but need to trim them as you suggest.
    When you were going through the plugins, first time I watched this, I thought in the tool bars you showed one of them has a circular, stage by stage, arrow cycle making tool. I probably saw it in another video somewhere else....or, more likely, imagined it in a dream!!
    It's a long shot - but have you ever seen such a function on a plugin. Please don't worry, if not; I don't expect you to be a walking encyclopaedia of every tool on every plugin!!

    Thanks, Jack. The form integration with Kadence block is the final piece I need to de-Elementor my sites! Question: What's your fav way to display transcript on a Gutenberg post? I'd like to post the transcript to my videos for SEO but keep the post tidy so would prefer the transcript to be hidden by default and click to reveal by those who want to read it. Thanks.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +2

      Glad that my video helped! There are a few ways to add a transcript.
      1. Once you've pasted the transcript on your blog, you can add a "read more" tag, so when people visits your blog, if they are interested to read your transcript, they can click on "read more"
      2. Use "Accordion". That way people will have to expand that Accordion in order to read your transcript.
      For me, I prefer to use accordion.

    Kadence blocks and Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg is what I use the most. I especially like the ability to customize the columns with Ultimate Addons. I don't find that with Getwid. Sure Getwid has a ton of blocks. But most of it is redundant with what Kadence offers and layout is where I find the columns customizer in UAG shine the most - being almost able to replace Elementor.

    Excellent video. Have been creating websites for a long time. The block editors are the perfect combination of speed and ease. And to think I nearly switched to page builders 😱 Question: do any of these have built in pop-up forms/special offers?

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +1

      Currently there is no Gutenberg Block Plugins that does the "Exit Popup", but there are plugins that provide "Notifications (a top highlighted bar)". There is also a popup on click option and it is called "Modal" in Gutenberg Blocks. Anyway, with the upcoming Google updates, they said they are trying to eliminate the "popups" because Google thinks it is not helping the user.

    Brilliant video thank you... So say I installed the Ultimate one - and used some of the elements in a post .. then i decide to switch to kadence and that other good one you mentioned ... can I uninstall the ultimate one to save bulking up on plugins? Will I lose features off the post I used it in?

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +1

      Once you delete a block plugin, I am pretty sure the features used will be removed as well. I recommend that you do some research on which blocks you need and stick with the block plugin for a long time. Some block plugins will have an optiom to toggle a feature off if you dont need it hence reducing the "bulk".

    I agree with the comment of Daniel Cavalcante, Elementor primarily building a hard core dependency with pages build with that. At first, I bought the page builder and designed my website and after my licence expires, the page builder is no more working and my all elementor pages DOESN'T LOAD AT ALL. I can edit my existing pages, this irritates me a lot. Now thinking to switch to some other "free" and robust page builder

    I also didn't easily find any block plugin that would include dot navigation on the side for quick access to different sections.

      @JackCao  3 года назад

      Sorry for the late reply. I was too caught up with the latest videos. I think Stackable is a very good option for freelancers as they have a big arsenal of templates.
      You need to refer to the bottom left of the WordPress editor. Whenever you click on any elements of the page. They will show the nested layers of the elements, and you can basically select the right layer to edit.
      I do not have the intention to create and sell a course on Gutenberg, but I have a playlist of tutorials for you which I will continually add to the list as my channel progresses. I hope this helps: ruclips.net/p/PLaWK8UfrNqw3605EvDefj4b697LbP_UiG

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +1

      It depends, I heard a lot of people saying GetWid is rather bloated, and I haven't test that out yet. I guess it is all about the trust you put into the developers of the plugin. Speaking just about the features, logically speaking, the free version of Kadence + Getwid is good enough. But, if you want more features with reliability, such as the modal block, then you may consider getting the Kadence Blocks Pro.
      But with that said, if the free versions of the plugins can help you create the web pages that you require, then there is really no need for you to get the pro version.

    Hey jack Cao, great video the best-dedicated video on Gutenberg I have ever come across. I have a question for you "How to set our own designed single post page using Gutenberg" As I am currently using the ocean wp free theme and even if I am designing the single post page I am still seeing the customiser post page and I am unable to see the one I designed. It would be great if you share your advice or create a video on setting up a custom design blog page & single post page. Looking forward for your response. Thanks!

    If you building own website, better use Gutenberg. Avoid slow page builder like Elementor or Brizy ..
    When I'm not using Elementor, I shocked seeing increased visitor & SEO..
    The best SEO optimization is web speed

    • @LetsCreateYourWEBSITE
      @LetsCreateYourWEBSITE 3 года назад

      but you can always increase the website speed with any editor. The problem is that gutenberg is lighter because it is not so mature like elementor or other page builders. It is going good , but it is far away from others . Choose a cache plugin, optimize js and css , defer js and css and you can get around 1 second with any page builder.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +1

      @@LetsCreateYourWEBSITE I respectfully disagree with you on some parts of your statement.
      Firstly, Gutenberg blocks are lighter not because it is new, but because of the way they are built.
      Yes, using a caching plugin will help with page speed, but what we are trying to do, is to find the best option for building websites before optimizing it for speed with a caching plugin because no matter how good a caching plugin is, if the fundamental element is bloated, there is not much you can do, speed wise.
      Finally, because Gutenberg Blocks are new, they will only mature with more features that will eventually replace page builders. Currently, you can already run a fully functional website using Gutenberg.
      I run many websites with Page Builders in the past, and I use high-end caching plugins like WP-Rocket and optimizing it with Cloudflare, and I have spent thousands of dollars hiring a web developer for site speed, and the best result it gave was a below 80 rating on Google Page Speed insights. So, page builders are a no go for me.
      Anyway, thank you for your comment. I always appreciate opposing views 👉👍we😎

      @@LetsCreateYourWEBSITE If one day Gutenberg become slow like Elementor, it is better choosing Gutenberg.
      Gutenberg is free while Elementor has worst pricing and keep changing like a snake.
      If Gutenberg become even slower than Elementor, better choose Oxygen or Beaver Builder.
      Both Oxygen & Beaver Builder is mature but far faster than Elementor. If use caching, it become way faster than that.

  • @misterpogi23

    Page builders will not become obselete especially the big 3 provided that they keep supporting it.
    Users that don't know how to optimize websites using page builders need to take more time to learn it or hire someone that knows how to do it.
    I've been using gutenberg for a while. Based on where it's going, gutenberg will never beat page builder's editing experience especially Divi and Brizy.
    Gutenberg can have the same set of features but it will come down to the editing experience. It's not about who has the most features. Elementor has the most features yet not everyone is sold by it.

    Hello Jack! I am impressed by your videos. I am really taking into consideration the use of Gutenberg blocks for website building. Besides of Kadence and GetWid blocks, I am thinking of adding Stackable to the team since it has some features I like at first glance. Would this be usable or 3 such plugins are too much together?

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  3 года назад +2

      The good thing about these block plugins is that most of them, you can toggle certain blocks off, so that there will not be any duplicated blocks. I think 3 block plugins are fine, but I recommend not going more than that. Also, you may want to take note of those blocks that may slow down your site: ruclips.net/video/VU5VS0Po4h4/видео.html

      I've done Kadence and Stackable - curious on the support provided with GetWid. I don't see anything on their website other than email. Blog is outdated and their site, seems a bit vague. Although from what I can tell GetWid is free, but free isn't worth it if you run into problems with no support. Have you setup GetWid blocks and how has your experience been so far?

      @@gisele-grenier Based on previous videos of Jack Cao, I explored 11 options offering professional Gutenberg blocks and I ended up using Kadence, Qubely and Stackable (the free version only for this later). I put UAG and GetWid in reverse in case I cannot realize a desired page element with the aforementioned solutions. I tested a few GetWid blocks (Avanced Heading, Image Box and Accordion along with Media & Text Slider) and had no issues at all.

      @@zoltankemenes1981 Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry to ask...is UAG ultimate addons for gutenberg?
      Yesterday, I tested Kadence Blocks with GetWid and Stackable... So I like that Kadence Blocks are identified in blue, Stackable in pink, but Getwid is black which mixes with the regular Gutenberg blocks.
      No issues with all three, but I'll be getting rid of GetWid.
      Now what's really cool... I have the Kadence membership, so I have access to Kadence Cloud. I can design a page layout using Kadence Block and Stackable and save it to the cloud. When I clone my staging template (unlimited licenses on everything), I can import the layout I created.
      I've never heard of Qubely and from their website, they have some lovely features. Their Get Pro link on their site goes to a 404 page, so I'll let them know and will give their free version a try now.
      Thanks again for sharing your information!

      @@zoltankemenes1981 just an update.. so I had a conversation with Qubely tech support. They have not built their plugin for accessibility compliance so anyone in the USA, EU or Canada could be fined if someone were to complain that their (the website owner's) website wasn't compliant and if it's due to the plugin - basically I was told that "Qubely did not build the plugin for compliance" At least with Kadence, they did take compliance into account. I don't know about Stackable though.

    Hi @Jack Cao or anyone could help. Does anyone knows if Gutenberg developer team have any intention of implementing text slide animated effects and so on for the images, native blocks, etc.) in Gutenberg in the incoming years?
    I can't understand why we need to know about css code and making us install more and more plugins to make our websites look cool, instead of making it simple by implementing nice animated effects in gutenberg. I can see that i.e.: the animated blocks are implemented now for the back end but that about the important thing: the front end?¿ 🤦‍♀
    Do we'll always need to install plugins to make Gutenberg complete?

      No question is silly, they are all valid 😊
      All Gutenberg Blocks are embedded into the WordPress editor. So, if you just add a new page or post, and hover to the content area, you will see a "plus" where you can add block. Click on that, and select "see all", and a left panel will appear with all the Gutenberg Blocks, including those that you have installed.
