The body does not have a mechanism for ejecting stuff like this right away - it goes through the whole system, and we die to that often. Then we are not protected against fall damage very well - mainly infants are extremely susceptible to fall related injuries, are clumsy (a gazelle can literally run right after birth). Our sense of smell is poor (white sharks can detect a drop of blood in hundreds of liters of water), our eyesight is very limited to a certain wavelength (a chickenhawk can see a dime from a kilometer away), and so on..

Good question! The sounds that you’re referring to has a medical term ‘boborygmi’ and you’ll be interested to know that it’s not only from the stomach but can come from the small intestine. Essentially it’s due to the smooth muscle in the walls of the stomach and small intestine. They are responsible for peristalsis which are those lovely worm-like contractions that propel food along. They also mix gas, air and fluids along with food through the gut and this generates the rumbling growling sound. And I’m Australian but have travelled to many places around the world including the UK hence the influence on my accent. 😊
