About every couple of months or so, my iPhone 13 battery rapidly discharges while on standby. For example: From 9 AM yesterday to 1PM today, with regular use (texting and internet search), it went from 85% down to 65%. That's a mere 20% drop in 28 hours while in use. Then, while on standby with NO use, it rapidly fell to zero around 5PM! So, in the course of just 4 short hours, in standby mode only, 65% of the battery power was consumed! The phone store recommended a complete reset which I was unwilling to jump through the hoops. So what could be the cause, and why does this happen once in a great while? For what it's worth, every time it's the exact same issue. The battery graph shows a steep straight line drop down to zero.
