Each city is different. When people ask me if I would rather live in Boise Idaho or if Living in Meridian Idaho is best, I can easily tell them that I would rather live in Meridian, 8 days a week!
Boise is nice for offering things to do, proximity, walking downtown, variety of nicer restaurants and closer to Boise State and Bogus Basin...
But... Moving to Boise vs Moving to Meridian, Idaho?
I love that Meridian feels better to me... BOTTOM LINE!
I love the residential areas!
I love how close we are to downtown via the freeway if we need to get down there.
Meridian is more conservative.
Boise... not as much...

After checking out both, we love everything about Boise proper... tons of character! Meridian looks like California -- Boise has all the charm!

I too love the feel of SouthEast Boise. I love the river, all the foothills, and the trial systems. Close to lucky peak and super close to downtown also. So peaceful too without all the traffic congestion. SouthEast Boise is so beautiful.

I am very interested in any single story homes, basements are ok, in the Boise area and the surrounding cities.

50-75 percent San Francisco/Oakland 🤷♂️ transplants. Its ranked 29th in u.s. economy/gdp vs our other 52 states, and its ranked 39th in population. Great mormon churches, good national guard bases, surrounded by mountains, beautiful ranches and good hunting. Pro life state strict abortion ban modeled after Texas overturnment of roe vs wade. Cowboys and bsu football have a strong recruiting relationship history. Sadly It's in 9th district Supreme Court of California. Sort of not safe for African or Hispanic people.

There are a lot of rundown neighborhoods in Boise. Less neighborhoods with HOAs. Be careful where you buy in Boise.

Don't listen to all these "Boise" channels. . Just go there whenever you want and do whatever you want. .Most of these channels are not from Idaho. . Just don't ever sit on a bus stop in Boise. Wait on the sidewalk. For some inexplicable reason the city planners decided to put the bus stops. In The Middle Of the Street !!! There will be cars on both sides of you. Behind you and in front of you within inches. Extremely dangerous . and cars hit those curbs all the time. .

that would be a negative. i mean some homes have made it through the first weekend, but just the other day, there were 32 showings on a home around the corner from me on the first day... so....

You mentioned that the average annual income is between $82k-$89k in Boise/Meridian. Which types of jobs would you say are more common in those areas for that type of salary? I'm a teaching in CA, and looking to move to ID, but the salaries are so different for teachers. I make roughly 77k as a 6th year teacher here, and 77k in ID is the maximum level on the salary schedules that I'm seeing for people who have been teaching for 30+ years. So it looks like I'd have to choose a different career to move. What would you say are some of those higher paying positions for teachers to transfer into, or just more of the common, easier to get positions to reach that 82k-89k average annual salary? Are they mostly just high skilled tech jobs?
Hey Amanda! First off, i am more conservative, but would be willing to increase taxes a hair if it went straight to teacher's salaries. It's something I support. I don't know what they typical is, per se, but do you have another set of skiills that would lead you somewhere? project manager, learn a new skill? are you techy? are you a people person? sales? Real Estate? etc
I read somewhere the water is dirtier in Meridian. Is this true or just a rumor?

yeah, i see a lot of investors bringing 20% to the table and still cash flow positive. rent prices right now are up :) DYOR though :)

no foothills in meridian! east end is magical! i think its similar to eagle :)
Foothills are Eagle, Middleton, Star & Boise.
Coming from a prominent music scene and now transplanted to Idaho, I'm hoping to witness a burgeoning stage of original music in Meridian, as well.

I can honestly say that the people I have toured around town have been like-minded people. I know that is not the case with everyone, but that is my experience.
Yeah, after seeing who would actually vote for Trump, I'd say voting democratic is the thing to do...
