How to Install a Pull Down Attic Ladder Yourself - storage hack

Installing an attic ladder is definitely a project you can do yourself (with a little help) and it'll open up way more storage space in your house. I didn't have any access to my attic space - so I had to figure out how to do this whole process from below and basically create an attic. I give detailed instructions on all the steps I took to install my Werner wooden attic ladder (W2510) including reframing my ceiling. This would be a similar process for any brand attic ladder you need to install.

This is a really neat solution, and it is very useful to have storage space in the roof void. I also have stuff stored in the roof void, but unfortunately I need to use a ladder from the workshop and crawl through a manhole (as they are called in England) to gain access. Not easy when you start getting older…….
