why does a metalband have to be known by everyone? you should be glad they aren't as famous as metallica, see what the fame did to them, be glad overkill hasn't changed that much compared to the way metallica changed. they are both great, metallica both now and then and overkill both now and then, but overkill hasn't really changed their style, i think if they were extremely famous, it would have changed. :)

Fame doesn't necessarily do that. I think MEtallica had other issues, but now they seem to be comming back to the light.
AC/DC hasn't changed one bit and they are one of the most well known bands out there.
I wished overkill was as known as MEtallica because DD, Bobby and the guys fucking deserve it. I want people to know who they are because they've worked their asses off for thirty years and somehow are not as "mainstream" as metallica despite both being pioneers in trash metal. That, to me, is bullshit, not because Metallica is overrated, and I'm not hating on their fame, but I don't understand why Overkill is not up there with them when they should and deserve it
I remember when I first heard this song I said "I can't believe how much energy this song has!" and now six years later I still can't believe how much energy this song has!

Amen brother! Bobby and this band just scream energy since the 80s, it's really amazing they have stood the test of time. Still blows my mind Bobby is 64yrs old and still has they're music slamming you in the face! Great to see!

First taste of Overkill and I have to say, I'm digging it.

I have been pointed to Overkill a year ago and for 12 months I have listened nothing else but Overkill, all of their albums at average 3 hours every day and yes, I know and love Overkill! Their new album is coming in February 2017. New single between October and November 2016,, articles on that were not in sync.

Wow. Ironbound is one of few Overkill's albums I missed over the years. This is my first time hearing this. I guess it's time to complete the catalog. Electric Age, Grinding Wheel and Wings of War were all tops. Their first three outings are still my favorites.
Bobby Blitz is like the perfect thrash singer. He's capable of going really high, almost power metal high, but also capable of screaming his head off. And his natural voice is just so hard to categorize. It's not screaming. It's clean singing. But the tone is something only he can do.
Agreed he also has one hell of a stage presence. He's not over the top but he for sure keeps your attention especially considering he's getting up there in age and all the health problems he's had. If i was gonna be a thrash vocaist Bobby is definitely the type of guy I'd want to be.

So cool to see an older band not putting sub-par music out there just for a payday. Overkill's last two or, three albums have been some of their best ever. Thanks for not slowing down dudes.
This song kicks so much ass. I had listened to Overkill in the 80’s, their classic “one album wonder” entry and never heard from them again and then a while back they opened for Testament and came out and stole the whole night. And nobody upends Testament. The break in the solo is just one of Metal’s greatest musical moments of all time.

I agree. Slayer has two decent albums (I still don't listen to them anymore), Metallica started rapidly declining after their self-titled album (but Lars was always consistently atrocious), Anthrax's vocalist sound(s/ed) is weak-sounding, and like you said, Megadeth is not the same as they used to be. Meanwhile, the bands like those I mentioned still have some life to them. Heck, even Death Angel is making improvements.

1) In the U.S: Testament, Forbidden, Exodus, Megadeth, Dark Angel, Death Angel, Anthrax, Heathen, Slayer + many more
2) In Germany: Sodom, Destruction, Kreator, Paradox, Mekong Delta + many more
3) All over the World: Annihilator, Suicidal Angels, Coroner, just to mention some, + more than a 100 original thrash metal bands that are still thrashing!!!!

Blitz is one of Metal's greatest frontmen. The whole band is consistently killer.
Motorhead's "Mean Machine" has always been my fave of theirs. For Years I tried to come up with a version of that riff, bass counter, that didn't sound like a Total rip. Never could do it. Overkill comes along and Does it, and makes one of their Best songs ever out of it. Kick ass. Congrats... Great musicianship, and That Voice. Few bands get Better with age, but Overkill has. Respect.

I'm into old school 80s metal and don't usually listen to new albums by old school bands because they're usually very disappointing. I saw Overkill on the Ironbound tour before I bothered to hear the album but i was completely blown away. The best album by an old school band in my opinion.

His energy has definitely has dropped in the past 13 years. It's ok though. Saw them last week with Exhorder and Heathen. He's much more still on stage now and emotes less. But he is still one of the best front men in have ever seen live. 7 times now I've seen overkill.
When the album got out it was their sixteenth one, so even if they were pretty solid over their career, my expectation was not that high.
It simply blew my mind. First this single, then the whole album, a masterpiece of insanity from beginning to end.
I still can enjoy this song like it was the first time, it's pure adrenaline.
