Hi doctor i was diagnosed with epilepsy four years ago. I used Keppra 500 mgx2 for three years. I have been using epixx xr 500 mg for the last year. But now I want to get pregnant. Is there any harm in getting pregnant with epixx xr? I would be happy if you answer, thank you☺️
What do you think about autoimmune seizure disorders and keppra
Epilepsy will never disapear unfortunatly..😢
I mean, through surgery or outgrowing it.
Dang my dr told me a year and a half lol 😆
Sir tell me i have temporal lobe eplipsy and i face sezures like unconscious for 40 sec. Soo which medicine i take for less sezures
I thought my epilepsy was gone, but it wasn't. My epilepsy has decreased with age, but i still have to take a low dose medication to stay stable. I have JME and my late teens and twenties were the hardest period. Now at 43 i rarely have problems as long as i keep taking my med, and my dose is very low now.
Alicia Guitar
Hi!
What medication and dose are you?
Thanks!
My dad has had a similar experience as well. I wonder why that may happen?
Hi Doc. After being diagnosed with epilepsy in 2016 my period stopped.I have being diagnosed with PCOS. Is there a chance that these two are related as i am on carbamazerpine?
My 7yr old son was diagnosed with focal to bilateral seizure last Saturday, the doctor made him took 1 dose of sodium valproate valproic acid that afternoon. He was having frequent seizures the next day so we stopped immediately after the 1st dose. Please advise. Thank you.
I'm 33 years old from Philippines. i have my first seizure disorder when i was 12 years old, then from that year 2002 i started taking phenobarbital then after 20 years i take this LEVITERACETAM. i am still curious, when will this seizures finally won't attack anymore.
I’m looking for answers about my epilepsy and have watched many of your RUclips posts. I am a 49 year old female. I’ve been having different types of seizures since I was 17 years old …Grandmal, petitemal & catamenial. Auras have changed over the years, however, for the last 10+ years, I sneeze 3 times then have the seizure. Oddly to me I have even heard family members sneeze and it resulted in me having a seizure! I’ve met 1 other woman that’s experienced this. I contacted you because every doctor that I’ve mentioned this to doesn’t seem very interested in the connection. I just wanted to know your thoughts on this. I also wanted to thank you for your helpful videos!
had focal seizures when i was in elementary, was medicated, then high school no seizures. i stop my meds college and then i had a seizure while i was mountain biking, crashed and hit the right side of my head badly. And like you said my seizures returned with a vengeance....but im back on my Keppra but extended version.
I was in a car accident and broke my leg. On keppra now also but the side effects are overwhelming. Are you seizures controlled??
Can i ask dok i have a seizure my first dok give me trilepal 300mg but its not missing..my mother move me in other dr.he give me citiscan but its normal he give me 200mg tegretol 1 times a day almost 1 year past it still not disappear ..so that we change again another dr.he give me EEG test and ttere was seen abnormal lll on the left front of my head he give me tegretol 200 but 3x a day for 6 months then its ok im not feel seizure but after 6 months again im always attacking seizure..can i ask why doc..because he wnt me to go back after that 6 monthsto test agai from EEG..can i ask doc. After my seizure mywhole body feels weakness and more on my neck feels numb can i ask if theres a fruit or vegtables can i eat in the hauz to fight my weakness.. ❤
My epilepsy started in December 1979 when I was 15 months old and still has not stopped or been controlled and is categorised as refractory, I’ll be going to Monash University In Melbourne, Victoria next month to test out in a trial, a new anti seizure drug called Selenium and we’ll see if it can control my seizures that I’ve had for just under 44 years now.
My son has got epilepsy whrn he was 14 and still not controled with epilepdy drugs, nice to hear from you new drugs I hope both of you to get the right one❤
I've also got epilepsy for 10 years now (20-30 years old), tonic clonic seizures. I started and never stopped with Sodium valproate, then added lamotrigine after 2 years, worked amazing for 1 years seizure-free! Did they discuss nervus vagus stimulation?
How can I will get a video consultation form u sir.

my 42 yr old daughter who is mentally slow age 12.
Started seizures at 22, generalized tonic-clonic. Dr at Vanderbilt says there is nothing they can do for her. She has tried many medications that had horrible side effects and she became scared after they put her on Prozac and she tried to kill me with a knife in my bedroom..
She is on Dilatin 100mg 3x day. 30 MG 1x day, and oxcarbizpine 300mg 4x day. which was not helping so I am slowly reducing, Down to 450 away. She has fallen do much and been hurt. Right recovering from breaking leg in 3 places with rod inserted.
hi, I got epilepsy from a vaccine when I was little, then I had a seizure, they punctured my spine, I left the hospital, they told him that it would happen again, when I turned 18, I had a seizure and since then I suffered until 2011, I left to the operation, the operation was successful and after 2 years, the doctor told me that I can drive in 2017, mine said that I can stop taking the tablets, I was afraid until now, which means that I drink and 13 years after the operation that I did, my epilepsy was called temporal lobe epilepsy from the day of the operation I didn't have seizures, but I was afraid to stop the pills and now I'm tired of them, I drink tegretol 300 mg in the morning and 300 mg in the evening and now I started to stop it, it's been 7 days, is it safe since my Neurology said that there won't be any more attacks and gave my paper how can i stop in 12 weeks thanks in advance
My seizures seem to be not happening lately idk why
How about epilepsy in a child that starts at 8 years old. How long the treatment should be and will there be chances to outgrow the epilepsy?
I would like an answer to this too, my son is 9
My son got seizure at 8, mow he is 13, we stopped the Meds instead of Chinese needle acupuncture and Chinese herb. He is still have a light dizzy every 10 days.
My 9 year old daughter had possible seizures first time 4 months back. Tests like CT scan and EEG test showed nothing. But her Dr. Has prescribed Syrup Sodium valproate 10ml twice for 2 years. It has been 4 months without anything. But I'm worried if it really was epilepsy or he just feel and fainted and side effects of the medicine. Should I continue the medicine?
My 9 year old son also had an eeg and it showed nothing, all Dr’s said it wasn’t seizures until he had a 24hr eeg at the children’s hospital. Mayb try that
@@MarMore13 Thank you.
@@Tomhyder how’s your daughter doing? Have they said it is seizures? The Dr also mentioned something about it not being seizures for my son either. Our appt is finally this Monday.
Why do I sart to seize late at night if I eat protein they stop
Soy triggers my seizures
False, I’ve had epilepsy since I was a year old I’m 36 now, so the chances of outgrowing epilepsy is practically nonexistent
That's simply not true whatsoever. 66% of children outgrow it by the time they are teenagers. You can however not be 100% they will never have a seizure ever again in their life. There are cases of someone outgrowing it, being seizure-free since their childhood and then having a seizure when they're 30 or 50. That does not mean that every one of them is simply waiting to have a seizure again. Most have outgrown their epilepsy and will never have a seizure again. Some might have epilepsy, but will never experience a seizure. And there are cases of people that may seem epilepsy-free suddenly experience a seizure 10 or 30 years later.
Just cause it didn't work for you don't make it not true. Hell it even supports the video even more. The dude said it was based off of a special magic humans use we call it "PERCENTAGE"... long story short you have no idea what your talking about and are clearly undereducated in this topic. Your lack of understanding proves this. Coming from someone else with epilepsy. Spent quite a bit of time in Vanderbilt myself
I think he was using a best case scenario and depending on where they started. He has stated in other videos that everybody is different.
PLEASE HELP. MY BABY IS 4. He is missing 20 million genes which genetics dr said is cause of his seizures. He started having feb 2021. He had tonic clonic, grandma, and infantile spasms. He is an anomaly. He has been on over 7 meds which are not stopping the seizures. He is nonverbal, immobile etc. please contact me for further help.
Treatment is all life as is chronic disease and electricity is all the time in people brain especially with people with epilepsy that is more "active".
The only thing you're forgetting to mention is, yes it is the brain and it develops immensely through your life. So there are other diseases you can outgrow, your disease can change and it's very susceptible to outside stimuli.
So my epilepsy went from 5 years of tonic clonic seizures ONLY during the day to 5 years of ONLY seizures during the day. Whatever medication I used to take, now take or changed or experimented with, it all doesn't matter. My brain simply changed completely with its epilepsy.
youtalk a lot about people who have epilepsy but, I thought you also talk about people that suffer FND? I have FND but I have fake strokes and don't have epilepsy. I am normally paralized from the head to my feet and usually happens in stressful medical/trauma situations or surgeries. I have no control and just happens then I no longer can speak or move and because last so long I have to stay in the hospital. Each event last for 9-15 hours or longer. The sad thing I can hear, see and feel everything happens. Is it possible you can talk about FND more why some people have stroke like system and not epilepsy.
I made a whole series about PNES.. FND type of Seizures... You can review the series.. Just swab PNES with functional stroke and it is the same treatment and causes.. Just different presentations
@@DrOmarDanoun what kind of treatment do they really have other psych or rehab like PT? How can you get rid of it? Thank God I have only two serious attacks. How can stop having them that scary part.
