@@Anatolia0827my daughter has the embrace watch. It will only pick up the movement in her arms. If her seizure doesn’t cause her arm to move then it won’t detect it. It also costs £250 and £45 a month subscription which is a disgusting amount of money per month for a device that is very basic technology and very unreliable. I wouldn’t recommend it. My daughter sleeps next to me every night and will continue to do so until something reliable and safe is brought to Market.

We have been using an Apple Watch SE with the SeizAlarm app with our daughter for almost a year now. It took some time to adjust the sensitivity to not give us false positives but we have it good now. The biggest issue we have is that it kills the battery on the watch very quickly. Even when we take it off the charger, fully charged, and put it on our daughter at 9pm, it rarely lasts past 6am before we start getting alerts that the watch battery is low. We’ve tried every trick, turning off all other apps, resetting the watch, updating the watch, turning off notifications and other settings on the watch and it still can’t make it through the night. Considering that our daughter has only had her seizures while sleeping at night we can’t consider it to be reliable.
Does anyone have any experience with the battery life on the Embrace 2? We need something we can rely on that will last at least 12 hours without needing to be recharged.

I had a seizure yesterday 😅 I just remember getting to my brother’s house, seeing my brother’s friend, then hearing my family saying are you ok and I think I said I was… after that, don’t remember a thing, I was sluggish but I didn’t think I had one 😂 I have iwatch with seizure detection, you can change the sensitivity. Also, detects when your heart rate goes up or down also your oxygen.

Hi! I am Kelly and I am from Paso Robles, California and I am a 38 year old mother who's child feels the need to be my caregiver then on her studies.. I have been going through a wide range of different types of seizures since 2015 ( each type is debilitating in their own way, meaning the side effects vary). Doctors are still trying to understand the cause and the sudden onset so late in life. I haven't been able to work since 2018 three jobs I had before that I had been let go from due to the seizures and the complications of having them so often. Unfortunately there are some that I am unaware that I even had one. And the doctor always asks me so long they are. All I can tell him is I don't know so I need to get one of these watches

I have JME, and most of my seizures are myoclonic jerks. They are super short, so the watches don't detect them, even when I fall. My medicines don't work and I have a DBS. I am hoping the Nautilus study is effective as it targets a different part of the thalamus than DBS. If there's a watch or other device that will catch the myoclonics, that would be great, too. I have already had two different models of VNS and am not currently eligible for the RNS until Nautilus gets approved.

I know you cannot diagnosis on here, but with a teenager who started her seizures 3 years ago at 13, has autism and anxiety increased due to seizures, is verbal, was placed on lomictal. Breakthru seizures (45 sec) during menstrual period, and sickness, perhaps with lower immune system, anyway, she is at 8x25 every 12 hours, and she experiences what seem to be silent seizures and moments (15-25min) where she feels like one is coming and she loses almost all motor control, but stays mostly conscious. We are now backing down to 7x25 every 12 hours, and neurologist is considering Keppra, but i am not in favor because her moods, plus autism may change her mostly happy 8 yr old stuck in 15 yr old body outlook. Any thoughts?

Soooo I’ve been having seizures since my MVA in 2017 but really since I was 4 and again when I was 8 according to my father but then nothing til the accident. Which I was told can actually restart “ perception the onset of seizures again. My thing is that not ALWAYS do they show on EEG an symptoms are different like I appear to cry uncontrollably but it’s my eyes doing it and I can’t stop, I lip smack or rub my hands, my legs or my head… I yell out every now and then then I end up balling up like a baby after it’s all done truly crying then because I can’t stop shaking- I can’t remember everything although I never like completely pass out or like my eyes don’t anyway but I’m not quite “ all there” if that makes sense? At the onset I feel nauseous and like I have to “ really go “ to the bathroom… does anyone experience that a? Why am I different??? My doctor acts like I’m lying :(((

I have just received one for my son, but unless our phones are next to the watch, it doesn’t stay connected. Which defeats the whole purpose. I’m a bit confused

Yes unfortunately it has to be connected to a phone nearby to work.. Hopefully in the future will be a standalone one

@@DrOmarDanoun I’m not sure yet if I should just return it and get him an Apple Watch instead. Or maybe we need a phone just for my sons use of this watch. He is non verbal and can not use it, but I’m not sure how else it would work. I wish this was made clear. I’m sure other parents are having this issue too. Using an Apple platform would be so user friendly. Anyhow. I still have to monitor seizures. My son has Polymicrogyria

That's why I bring her to a neurologist. And he recommend to heve eeg...and their is history of seizure.that's why said he is going to load her seizure drugs.... Thanks god till then she didn't had seizure but she had maintainance leviteracetam..... Is that mean my daughter have epilepsy but the doctors diagnoses is seizure disorder?

@@DrOmarDanoun already put my name in. Would be interesting to see how this watch compares. My galaxy 4 sends everyone a sos when my heart rate falls below 40 for over
5 minutes. By the time they get to me I'm doing the funky chicken . It would be interesting to see how long after my hr falls I start dancing in my sleep. It's always in my sleep . Makes a person afraid to go to sleep. But...... 1000mg of Keppra 2xs daily have put a dent in them and the funky spiky things on my frontal lobe eeg has made them quit saying they're all in my head.... get a good bash to the left forehead and you too can get a TBI, otherwise known as a gift that keeps on giving..

@Dr. Omar Danoun well, I am sure there are probably people who need it more than me. I did download a couple of the seizure apps on my galaxy 4 but they were either to sensitive or not sensitive enough so I didn't find them worth the membership price. My dog is an excellent seizure monitor but he weighs 120 lbs and I'd rather not have his big butt jumping on me all the time. I've been to Cleveland clinic, UK hospital, UC cincinnati. Big hospitals are good at treating Zebras, but suck at people skills.

One comment I will make about the embrace 2 is that the band sucks and it has sharp corners. I will never fault the damn thing’s sensitivity, but even when the watch is in your pocket or a bag while going down the highway, it will still go off

Thank you for this awesome video! My son was a late teen when diagnosed. I bought him Embrace 2 when diagnosed. Our Epilepsy specialist had not heard of it, and was curious to learn of the results. My son complained it was to sensitive to the video games. We also tried an Apple Watch with the seize alarm. After watching this I think we should try the embrace again.

I had the same issues when my child was younger. While gaming they shake their has so the answer - FOR US- it was just to switch to the ankle ONLY while gaming. My child has tonic colonic seizures and we use the Embrace2.

thanks for making this video. I was debating (and my partner was really pushing for this for safety) to have a watch to not only do this but also remind me to take my pills (i only have tonic clonic seizures and can have seizure freedom if i take my pills correctly). An apple watch seems best for this but i never knew there was an app for seizure detection! I have my seizures mostly at night and rely on feeling sore to know if it happened so i sometimes fear that i miss some (since i want to be able to drive so knowing i am truly seizure-free would be comforting)
