    Hi.
I have been sewing & pp for years.
I have bought several of Judy's patterns from the Quilt fest in Jacksonville, Florida. Bought the fabrics that i needed to make them. Got them home, opened the pattern up to make them, and was floored trying to understand her instructions to make them. I was blown away! I am one of those, show me people.
I looked for a class to take, none within 5 hours of me. I have animals and can not leave for 3 days to attend a quilt class. Thank you, Thank you, for making these videos and sharing them.
Very Helpful. I have my fabrics cut up and placed in their ziploc bags. I will start on the Mariners star tomorrow.
I'll send you a pic when its done
    Thank you again and again.
I hope you have a Great 4th of July

What are the “Bullet” notes on your plastic folder.

Those are the steps that I teach my students for paper piecing. Trim, sew, press. Stay tuned for my next video which will cover this process in depth!

Where do you get the folding template?

I make mine out of template plastic. You could also use card stock. Make it about 3” wide and 12” long for the 12” ruler or 6” long for using with the 6” ruler.

I was wondering why you aren't folding your pattern before you sew it? I love your videos, but this seems more time consuming to have to fold as you go. If you prefolded, you wouldn't have to draw the lines on the back of the foundation block. I look forward to seeing your sewing video. I will be starting my first Judy Niemeyer pattern very soon.

Thanks for your question/comment. There are several ways to do this step. Certainly you can do it whichever way works best for you...I was showing an option of tracing the lines or using a light box to see the lines. Folding the paper over is another great trick to use as well. Good luck on your first Judy quilt!
