I grew up in the SCA we had the best time.We were so young but it was amazing. We loved dressing up.I highly recommend going. You will have a great time really
This was wonderfully done! Next time you come to an event, we need to get you to an artisans' display! Some of our people produce museum-quality work- and all of us are learning, so you'll see beginners and professionals working together! I'm a historian, so the educational aspect of the SCA is what I'm about. We learn research and we learn as we teach. It's a very collaborative Society! And I caught a shot of myself here! I'm wearing a mulberry wool dress and an orange veil, kneeling in front of Their Highnesses as I swear a personal fealty oath to them. I found a fealty oath from my time and place (780-800 CE, the Frankish Kingdom), and adapted it to include Their Highnesses. It meant a lot to me to have an oath that might have been given to Charlemagne. There's something for everyone, from combat spots to calligraphy. For can sit in front of a campfire, next to a period tent, chat with friends while you eat period food, and if you close your eyes, just for a moment... the modern world falls away, and you're in the Middle Ages.
Thank you Jake, this is Awesome, you did an amazing job engineering and editing this documentary! I look forward to meeting you again next year. . .Randwulf
This makes me want to try out the sca, I’m an active player in Amtgard /dagorhir and I think I’ll find it interesting to try out something more tough and rough.
Alixandria Jacquelyn I’ve been a member for almost 5 years now and I love it! There is so much for everyone! Not just fighting but sewing, singing, cooking, brewing, painting, dancing and so much more. Basically if it was being done before 1600 (and it wasn’t hurting or killing anyone) we have people that are doing it!
VAMP MEDIA I don’t have any armor, I was just interviewing people about their stuff and the event. I’m not sure where one would go to fit wrist armor cuffs. Google would probably be your best bet.
What an excellent job on capturing an overview of the SCA. Thanks, Jake!
Marc Turley thank you, Marc!

I started in Belegarth (essentially Dagorhir) and now actively cross-game with SCA. It's been a blast
Nice job!
Hauksgard Chatelaine Thank you!

5:38 I’m just wondering the expression on someone’s face that was just walking there dog and they just here a group of people just yelling this
right? you'd think an org that espouses decorum and honor would have consideration for other folks in a public park
@@sarahbezold2008 Well this comment was supposed to be funny not really like a complaint
