Garlic Scape Harvesting Tips | Growing Hard Neck Garlic
It is time for another amazing garlic scape harvest. In this video, we answer some of the following questions: When do I harvest garlic scapes? What do garlic scapes taste like? Are garlic scapes good for me? And how do I harvest garlic scapes?
We have been growing hard neck garlic for the past two seasons, and the original garlic that we planted two seasons ago came from Keene Organics (Keene Garlic), and this year's garlic comes from the garlic we harvested last season.
Now that the garlic scapes are ready to harvest, we are likely about a month away from our actual garlic harvest, and that is so exciting! I think this is likely to be a great garlic season for us, and we are definitely excited to be harvesting garlic scapes.

I absolutely love garlic scapes. since moving some years ago I hadn't had any garlic so last year bought some. Out of 12 bulbs, only 7 came up. Going to of course replant this year, but I think I'll check out Kine. What types of garlic are your (anyone please answer) favorite and why?

I've never gotten scapes like that before, but the only garlic I have intentionally purchased for planting was elephant garlic, which isn't really a true garlic. The foliage looks more like leeks. The other garlic I have planted came from the grocery store and must be soft neck because it doesn't produce the scapes, even though there's a hard core that makes it feel like it is hard neck. Any idea if I'm doing something wrong? Im baffled lol
