I am making a smaller version do I use fewer single crochet in the corner, because I'm using 5 and the 15 double crochet have created a kink in the 2nd row

Hi.. I've just knit this in grey with pink edging! I love it however how did you manage to sew the ends in without upsetting the pattern please?
Not knit but crochet 😂
I just use a thin needle and just weave the ends through the stitches around it.
